Instrucciones de seguridad
Sobre las presentes instrucciones Antes de la puesta en marcha del aparato, lea atentamente las presentes advertencias de seguridad. Preste atención a las advertencias que aparecen en el propio aparato y en las
instrucciones de funcionamiento. Guarde las instrucciones siempre a mano. Si vende o cede el aparato a otra persona, no olvide incluir este manual y la tarjeta de garantía junto al aparato.
Uso apropiado El aparato está diseñado para grabar imágenes en formato digital. No utilice el dispositivo en ambientes de calor o frío extremo. El dispositivo no está diseñado para funcionar en condiciones
extremas.
Avisos Para evitar lesiones, tenga en cuenta al utilizar del producto las siguientes instrucciones: No dispare el flash cerca de los ojos. Si lo hace, puede dañar los
ojos de la persona fotografiada. Mantenga al menos a un metro de distancia de los niños si utiliza
el flash.

No abra ni desmonte el aparato. Si desmonta el aparato, corre peligro de sufrir una electrocución.
Las verificaciones de las piezas internas, las modificaciones y las reparaciones sólo debe ser realizadas por profesionales. Lleve el aparato para que sea inspeccionado por un centro de servicio autorizado.
Desconecte el cargador de batería de la fuente de alimentación si no lo utiliza.
La toma de corriente debe estar cerca del aparato para que esté fácilmente accesible.
Si no utiliza la cámara durante un largo periodo de tiempo, retire la batería para evitar fugas.
La cámara y la fuente de alimentación no pueden recibir gotas ni salpicaduras de fluidos. No ponga objetos que contengan líquidos (como por ejemplo, floreros) sobre la unidad.
Recomendaciones sobre la batería Puede utilizar la cámara con la batería de iones de litio incluida. Recargue la batería sólo en el cargador de baterías suministrado. Tenga en cuenta las siguientes orientaciones generales sobre el manejo de la batería: Mantenga la batería fuera del alcance de los niños. Si alguien se
traga una batería, consulte inmediatamente a un médico.

¡ATENCIÓN! Si cambia la batería incorrectamente, hay riesgo de explosión. Sustituya la batería únicamente con otra del mismo tipo o similar.
Antes de insertar la batería, compruebe si los contactos en el dispositivo y la batería están limpios y límpielos si es necesario.
Introduzca únicamente la batería suministrada. Al insertar la batería, asegúrese de respetar la polaridad (+/–). Almacene la batería en un lugar fresco y seco. Las fuentes de calor
directo pueden dañar la batería. Por lo tanto, no ponga el aparato cerca de ninguna fuente de calor.
Evite el contacto con la piel, los ojos y las mucosas. En caso de contacto con el ácido de la batería, lave con abundante agua limpia la zona en cuestión y acuda inmediatamente a un médico.
No tire la batería al fuego, no la cortocircuite ni la desarme. No exponga la batería al calor excesivo, como por el sol, el fuego o similares. Si no utilizan el dispositivo durante un periodo de tiempo largo,
retire la batería. Retire la batería del dispositivo inmediatamente. Limpie los
contactos antes de poner una batería nueva. Hay riesgo de tener quemaduras químicas causadas por el ácido de la batería.
Retire la batería también aungue esté vacía.

Medidas de precauciones Tenga en cuenta las siguientes precauciones para evitar daños a la cámara y mantenerla siempre en perfecto estado: Guardar en un lugar seco
Esta cámara no es resistente al agua y, por lo tanto, no funciona correctamente cuando se sumerge en agua o cuando entran líquidos en su interior.
Evitar la humedad, el contacto con la sal y el polvo Limpie la sal y el polvo con un paño ligeramente húmedo y suave si utiliza la cámara en la playa o junto al mar. Luego, seque la cámara completamente.
Mantener lejos de campos magnéticos fuertes No ponga nunca la cámara muy cerca de aparatos que emitan campos electromagnéticos fuertes, como motores eléctricos. Los campos electromagnéticos fuertes pueden causar problemas en el funcionamiento de la cámara o interferir en el registro de datos de la misma.
Evitar el calor excesivo No utilice ni guarde la cámara en lugares donde reciba directamente rayos del sol o con altas temperaturas. Estos ambientes pueden provocar fugas o la deformación de la carcasa.
Evitar las fuertes variaciones de temperatura Si lleva el aparato rápidamente de un ambiente frío a uno caliente, o al revés, puede condensarse agua en el aparato, lo cual

puede provocar problemas en el funcionamiento o daños al aparato. No utilice el aparato hasta que la temperatura del mismo sea la misma que la temperatura ambiente. La utilización de una bolsa de transporte o de plástico ofrece una protección limitada contra las fluctuaciones de temperatura.
No dejar que caiga el aparato Los golpes o vibraciones provocados por una caída fuerte pueden causar fallos en el funcionamiento. Cuando transporte la cámara, colóquese la correa alrededor de la muñeca.
No retire la batería mientras se procesan los datos Mientras se graban o se borran imágenes en la tarjeta de memoria, retirar la alimentación de corriente puede causar una pérdida de datos o dañar los circuitos internos o la memoria del aparato.
Tratar con cuidado las lentes y todas las piezas móviles No toque la lente ni el portaobjetivo. Tenga cuidado al manipular la tarjeta de memoria y la batería. Estas piezas no están diseñadas para soportar peso ni presión elevada.
Batería A bajas temperaturas, la capacidad de la batería disminuye considerablemente. Si hace fotografías a bajas temperaturas, tenga una batería de repuesto caliente preparada. Si los contactos de la batería están sucios, límpielos con un paño

limpio y seco, o utilice una goma de borrar para eliminar cualquier residuo.
Memoria Desconecte la alimentación antes de insertar o extraer la memoria. De lo contrario, la tarjeta de memoria puede presentar un comportamiento inestable. Las tarjetas de memoria pueden calentarse con el uso. Retire siempre con cuidado la tarjeta de memoria de la cámara.
En caso de temperaturas bajas, la capacidad de la batería puede disminuir considerablemente por la deceleración de las reacciones químicas. Para grabaciones con un tiempo frío, tenga preparada una segunda batería en un lugar caliente (p. ej. en el bolsillo).
Esta marca en su cámara certifica que el equipo cumple con las directivas de la UE (Unión Europea). CE es el acrónimo de “Conformité Européene” (conformidad europea).
Este aparato está concebido para el uso privado y no para el uso en una empresa de la industria pesada.

Puesta en funcionamiento

Carga de las baterías en el cargador En el cargador suministrado puede cargar únicamente baterías de litio suministradas. ¡Atención! ¡No intente jamás recargar pilas normales! ¡Existe
peligro de explosión! Utilice sólo el cargador suministrado para cargar las baterías. No cubra el cargador con objetos (periódicos, manteles, cortinas,
etc.) para evitar la acumulación de calor. No coloque fuentes de fuego como p. ej. velas encendidas
encima o cerca del aparato.
Inserte la batería en el cargador como se muestra. Los contactos
de la batería deben corresponderse con los contactos del cargador.
Deslice la batería contra la resistencia de los contactos hacia delante. Asegúrese de que la batería siga la guía.

Retire la tapa del cargador. Inserte la pieza suministrada como se muestra en el cargador. Conecte el cargador a un enchufe de 230 V ~ 50 Hz. La luz de carga se ilumina de color naranja. El tiempo de carga es de aproximadamente dos horas. Si la batería
está llena, la luz de carga se ilumina de color verde. Retire el cargador de la red. Aunque no haya sobrecarga, retire el cargador de la red eléctrica después de la carga para evitar el consumo innecesario de energía. Introduzca la batería como se describe en la cámara.
El indicador de batería en la pantalla de la cámara muestra el nivel de carga de la batería. Recargue la batería en cuanto esté vacía.

Recomendaciones sobre el uso de la batería El funcionamiento de la batería se reduce en ambientes fríos (-10°C o temperaturas inferiores). Caliente la batería (por ejemplo, en el bolsillo de la ropa que lleve puesta) antes de utilizarla en ambientes fríos.
Inserción de la batería Para el funcionamiento de la cámara, se necesita la batería de litio incluida en el paquete. Apague la cámara. Deslice el cierre del compartimento de la batería en el sentido de
la flecha. Se abrirá el compartimento de la batería.
Inserte la batería en el compartimento de modo que los contactos
de la batería coincidan con los contactos del compartimiento de la batería.

Cierre el compartimiento de la batería y deslice el cierre a su posición original.
Inserción y extracción de tarjetas SD Si no hay ninguna tarjeta insertada, las imágenes se almacenan en la memoria interna. Tenga en cuenta que la memoria interna es limitada. Utilice una tarjeta de memoria SD para aumentar la capacidad de almacenamiento. Si se inserta una tarjeta, las imágenes se almacenan en la tarjeta.
Inserción de la tarjeta Apague la cámara. Deslice la tapa del compartimento de la batería hacia el exterior
para abrir la bandeja.

Inserte la tarjeta con los contactos hacia abajo en la ranura para tarjetas.
Cierre el compartimiento de la batería y deslice el dispositivo de
cierre de nuevo a su posición original.
Para retirar la tarjeta, púlsela brevemente hacia abajo para desbloquearla. Saldrá una parte de la tarjeta para que pueda extraerla.

Colocación de la correa de mano Para manejar mejor la cámara y por motivos de seguridad, ajústese la correa de mano. Haga un lazo como se indica en la imagen por el orificio.
Tire del otro extremo de la correa de mano por el asa del
cordoncillo y apriete la correa. Si lleva la cámara por la correa de mano, tenga cuidado de no golpearla en ningún sitio. Cuando coloque la correa de mano, ponga la cámara sobre una superficie sólida para evitar que caiga y se dañe.

Primeros pasos
Encender la cámara Pulse la tecla de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO durante uno o dos
segundos para encender la cámara. El objetivo se extiende, el indicativo de funcionamiento se ilumina de color verde y se enciende la pantalla. La cámara estará en el modo de grabación. Si la cámara no se enciende, verifique si la batería está bien insertada y si está cargada.
Apagar la cámara Pulse la tecla de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO un poco más de tiempo
para apagar la cámara.
Ajuste del idioma y de la fecha y hora Antes de utilizar la cámara por primera vez, debe configurar la fecha y hora actuales y el idioma que desea para el menú. Ambas configuraciones se realizan en el menú „Configuraciones “ : Con la cámara encendida, pulse la tecla M para abrir el menú. Seleccione con las teclas o el menú „Configuraciones“ .

Ajuste de fecha y hora Seleccione en el menú „Configuraciones“ con ayuda de las
teclas de dirección o la entrada „Fecha/hora“ y pulse SET.
Se abrirá el menú de configuración. Junto a la fecha y la hora, puede configurar el formato de la fecha. Tiene las siguientes posibilidades: AA/MM/DD (año/mes/día); MM/DD/AA (mes/día/año), DD/MM/AA (día/mes/año) Con las teclas o seleccione la entrada que desea modificar. Con las teclas o indique un valor.
Mantenga pulsada las teclas para que pasen las cifras con rapidez. Cuando haya seleccionado el valor adecuado, vaya con a la
siguiente entrada, por ejemplo, mes. Al final, pulse SET para confirmar el valor elegido. La fecha y la hora sólo se indican en la cámara en el modo de reproducción. Estos datos no se imprimen. La configuración de la hora permanece guardada en la batería interna. Sin embargo, se pierde si se retira la batería de la cámara más de 48 horas.

Configurar el idioma Seleccione en el menú „Configuraciones“ con las teclas o
la entrada „Idioma“ (en inglés, Language) y pulse SET. Se abrirá el menú de selección del idioma. Seleccione con o el idioma deseado y pulse SET.
Función de ahorro de energía Si no se utiliza la cámara durante 60 segundos, apáguela. También puede ajustar el apagado automático tras tres o cinco minutos. La función de ahorro de energía no está activa: Durante la grabación de clips de sonido o vídeo; Durante la reproducción de imágenes, videoclips o grabaciones
de sonido; Mientras que la cámara está conectada a otros aparatos por
medio de la conexión USB.

Modo de grabación y reproducción Al encender el aparato, está activo el modo de grabación. Puede hacer fotos directamente. Además, puede grabar clips de sonido y vídeo. En el modo de reproducción, puede reproducir, trabajar y borrar fotos y clips de sonido y de vídeo. Para configurar el modo de reproducción, deslice el regulador al
símbolo de reproducción . Este símbolo se iluminará en la parte superior izquierda de la pantalla. Se mostrará la última fotografía tomada.
Para volver al modo de grabación, deslice el regulador a la posición deseada para la grabación de fotografías o vídeo.

Primera grabación
Configurar el modo de grabación Cuando encienda la cámara, se activará automáticamente el modo de grabación. En el nivel básico, se ilumina en la parte superior izquierda de la pantalla Auto, que indica que está activo en modo de grabación. Puede ver más información sobre los modos de grabación y los símbolos en la página 61. Si no está activo el modo de grabación, sino el modo de reproducción, deslice el regulador al modo de grabación deseado.
Consejos para hacer buenas fotos Mueva la cámara lentamente para que las fotos no se vean
borrosas. Cuando se presiona el disparador no debe moverse la cámara. No mueva la cámara inmediatamente después de pulsar el botón del disparador.
Espere a la señal del disparador. Elija bien el motivo que va a fotografiar antes de presionar el
botón del disparador. Compruebe el ángulo si el motivo que va a fotografiar está a
contraluz. Cambie su posición para reducir la iluminación de fondo.

Para tomar buenos vídeos, incline la cámara despacio. Si lo hace muy rápido, las grabaciones de vídeo estarán desenfocadas y borrosas.
Toma de fotografías Para ver la imagen en pantalla, pulse el botón del disparador un
poco hacia abajo. Los caracteres amarillos de la imagen se iluminan de color rojo y el indicador de encendido parpadea si el enfoque automático no puede enfocar.
Aparecen los valores de la velocidad de obturación, la apertura y el valor ISO en cuanto se fija un valor ISO. Pulse el disparador hacia abajo del todo para incorporar la
imagen. Oirá un sonido que le indica que se ha tomado la foto. Las fotos se guardan como archivo JPEG.
Si la grabación carece de definición, aparece además el símbolo . En ese caso, hay que mantener la cámara estable o utilizar
un trípode. Con el menú de funciones puede adoptar diversas configuraciones para la grabación. Consulte la información en la página .
Active el modo macro pulsando la tecla para crear primeros planos.

Uso del estabilizador El estabilizador le permite realizar mejores grabaciones en condiciones con poca luz, reduciendo el riesgo de inestabilidad. Pulse la tecla de estabilización de la imagen.
Uso del flash Si la luz disponible no es suficiente para la foto, puede utilizar el flash integrado para que aporte la iluminación adicional necesaria. Pulsando varias veces la tecla del flash puede elegir entre las siguientes configuraciones para el flash:
AUTO: El flash se activa automáticamente cuando las condiciones de la grabación requieran una iluminación adicional.
Con un flash previa antes del flash propiamente dicho, para evitar los ojos rojos. La cámara detecta el brillo de los objetos y sólo se activa el flash cuando sea necesario. Flash activado en todo momento
„Slow Sync“: El flash está sincronizado con la velocidad de obturación lenta. Flash desactivado en todo momento
El flash sólo se activa en los modos individual y disparador automático. No puede utilizarse para secuencias de imágenes ni para grabaciones de vídeo.

Al utilizar el flash, aumenta el uso de la batería. Si la batería está casi vacía con rapidez, el flash necesitará más tiempo para cargarse. No utilice el flash con individuos ni con animales que estén cerca. Mantenga al menos un metro de distancia.
Zoom – aumentar o reducir La cámara dispone de un zoom digital y de un zoom óptico. El zoom óptico puede activarse con la configuración de la lente y el zoom digital se activa en el menú de configuración. Pulse el regulador del zoom en la dirección – . Aparece la
barra que reproduce la configuración del zoom . W / : La imagen se aleja (ancho) y se captura una sección más grande T / : La imagen se acerca („telefoto“) y se captura una sección más pequeña.

La marca se encuentra en la parte izquierda de la barra y se utiliza el zoom óptico.
Si se pulsa de nuevo, se activa el zoom digital. Puede acercar el zoom en cinco niveles diferentes. Para ello, debe estar activo el zoom digital en el menú de configuración.
Para la grabación de vídeo no está disponible el zoom digital. Con el zoom digital, la imagen captada aumenta por la interpolación. La calidad de la imagen puede sufrir un poco.
Configuración del modo de enfoque Con esta función, puede definir el tipo de enfoque si hace una foto o graba un vídeo. Pulse la tecla macro varias veces hasta que aparezca el símbolo
del modo de enfoque deseado bajo la pantalla LCD. La cámara dispone de diferentes modos de enfoque: Normal Con el enfoque normal, el campo de enfoque comienza a los 40 cm. Si la cámara está en modo normal, no se mostrará ningún símbolo.
Macro Este modo es especialmente ideal para los primeros planos. En este modo, puede capturar un foco fijo y captar un motivo con nitidez incluso en distancias cortas.

Corrector de la iluminación (EV) Con el corrector de los valores de la iluminación (EV = „Exposure Value“ o „valor de la exposición”) puede ajustar imágenes demasiado claras u oscuras. Puede fijar el valor en nueve niveles, entre +2,0 EV y -2,0 EV. En pantalla aparece un diagrama de barras con tres imágenes que adaptar. La imagen de la izquierda, por ejemplo, muestra una corrección de la iluminación de – 0,3, la intermedia muestra la corrección de la iluminación seleccionada y la imagen derecha muestra una corrección de iluminación de + 0,3.

Si no hay mucha luz, utilice un valor positivo y si la luz es muy fuerte, utilice un valor negativo. No utilice el corrector de iluminación si el motivo se encuentra en un campo demasiado claro o demasiado oscuro o si utiliza el flash. Seleccione entonces la configuración automática.

Crear una impresión de pantalla de videoclips Durante la reproducción de un videoclip, pulse la tecla para detener la reproducción. Pulse el botón del disparador para guardar la imagen se muestra como una captura de pantalla. En pantalla aparecerá el icono del disparador . La cámara pone fin automáticamente a la reproducción y cambia al modo de visualización. Esta función sólo está disponible si existe suficiente espacio de almacenamiento, de lo contrario no funciona el icono de disparador.
Borrar grabaciones Puede borrar grabaciones en el modo de reproducción o en el menú de reproducción. La forma más rápida de borrar una grabación individual es con la tecla Fn en el modo de reproducción. Elija en el modo de reproducción la grabación y pulse la tecla Fn. En la pantalla aparece el aviso „Borrar “. Elija con las teclas o
la entrada „Borrar”. Pulse la tecla SET y confirme la consulta.
Para cancelar la función, seleccione la entrada „Interrumpir“ y confirme una vez más con SET.

En la pantalla se mostrará la siguiente grabación. Los archivos protegidos no se pueden eliminar. En ese caso, aparecerá en pantalla el mensaje „Archivo protegido“.
Si se ha insertado una tarjeta de memoria, sólo podrá borrar los archivos que tenga guardados en la tarjeta de memoria. Si la tarjeta de memoria está bloqueada, no podrá borrar los archivos que se encuentran en la tarjeta de memoria. Un archivo borrado no puede recuperarse. Por lo tanto, tenga cuidado a la hora de borrar archivos.

Ajuste SignificadoDPOF DPOF es el acrónimo de „Digital Print Order
Format“ (formato de pedido de impresión digital). Aquí puede determinar la configuración de la impresión de las imágenes si desea imprimir imágenes de un estudio fotográfico o en una impresora compatible con DPOF. Con una impresora compatible con DPOF puede imprimir fotografías directamente sin tener que transferirlas antes al ordenador. Puede imprimir todas las fotos, una sola o volver a la configuración DPOF. Con las teclas o fija el número de impresiones para cada foto. Con la tecla Fn activa o desactiva la impresión de la fecha. En DPOF, puede fijar hasta 99 copias. Si configura 0 copias, se desactiva la configuración DPOF de la imagen automáticamente.

deseado para que se muestren en pantalla. Pulsando la tecla SET puede proteger, bloquear o borrar archivos
y volver al modo de reproducción.

Si hay introducida una tarjeta de memoria, sólo podrá borrar los archivos que se encuentren en ella. Si la tarjeta de memoria está bloqueada, no podrá borrar los archivos que estén en la tarjeta. No pueden recuperarse los archivos borrados. Por lo tanto, tenga cuidado para no borrar archivos por error.

Corregir ojos rojos Esta función sirve para reducir el efecto de ojos rojos en las fotografías. Esta función sólo está disponible en las fotografías. La corrección de los ojos rojos puede utilizarse varias veces en una misma imagen. Sin embargo, con ello se reduce poco a poco la calidad de la imagen. Así se activa la función de corrección de los ojos rojos: Seleccione en el modo de reproducción la imagen. Abra en el modo de reproducción el submenú „Corrección de
ojos rojos“. En la pantalla aparecen las imágenes y el menú de ojos rojos. Seleccione la entrada Start y pulse para comenzar la corrección la
tecla SET. Tras finalizar la función, aparecerá una selección de menú. Escritura sobre archivos antiguos: Los nuevos archivos se guardarán sobre los antiguos. Guardar como: Los nuevos archivos se guardarán como nuevos archivos. Interrupción: Se interrumpirá la función. Pulse para guardar o interrumpir las modificaciones la tecla SET.

Grabar avisos de voz Seleccione en el modo de reproducción la fotografía deseada.
Si una foto ya tiene un aviso de voz, aparecerá el símbolo correspondiente.
Abra en el modo de reproducción el submenú „Aviso de voz”. En la pantalla aparecerá una vista previa y un menú de selección. Seleccione Start y pulse la tecla SET para iniciar la grabación. El
micrófono se encuentra bajo la lente. La grabación será interrumpida automáticamente pasados 30
segundos. Si desea poner fin a la interrupción antes de este periodo de tiempo, seleccione Stop y pulse de nuevo la tecla SET.
Puede añadir notas de voz sólo en fotos, no en vídeos. Las imágenes protegidas, no admiten notas de voz. Sólo puede eliminar una nota de voz con la foto, no por separado.

Conexión a televisión y ordenadores
Mostrar grabaciones en un televisor Puede reproducir grabaciones de la cámara en un televisor. Apague la cámara y el televisor. Conecte el cable del televisor incluido en el
paquete a la conexión USB de la cámara y a la entrada de vídeo (amarilla) y entrada de audio (blanco) del televisor.
Encienda la cámara y el televisor. Encienda la cámara en el modo de
reproducción y comience la reproducción deseada.
Si el televisor no reconoce la imagen de la cámara automáticamente, encienda en el televisor la entrada de vídeo (generalmente, con la tecla AV).
Es posible que tenga que elegir en la cámara en el menú „Configuraciones“ en el submenú „Reproducción de televisión “ entre PAL y NTSC.

Imprimir grabaciones en una impresora de fotografías Puede imprimir fotos directamente con PictBridge en una impresora de fotografías compatible con PictBridge. Conecte la impresora y la cámara con el cable USB adjunto. Encienda la cámara y la impresora. La cámara es reconocida como aparato USB y conectada. Cambie el modo de impresión con la
opción „Impresora“ y confirme con SET. Seleccione con las teclas de dirección
o la imagen deseada y el número de copias que quiere imprimir. Dispone de las siguientes posibilidades: Individual – Imprime una fotografía Todo – Imprime todas las fotografías Volver – Vuelve a la configuración inicial.

Transferencia de datos a un ordenador Puede transferir datos a un ordenador. Sistemas operativos soportados: Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7
Ajuste de un cable USB Apague la cámara. Conecte el cable USB entregado con el ordenador encendido a la
conexión USB de la cámara y a una conexión USB en el PC. Encienda la cámara. Seleccione „Mi PC“ y pulse la tecla SET para
confirmar la selección. En la pantalla de la cámara, aparece „Conectar“. La cámara será entonces reconocida por el ordenador como soporte de memoria en masa. En Windows XP, Windows Vista y Windows 7 puede acceder directamente al contenido de la memoria de la cámara. En otras versiones de Windows, abra el explorador Windows o haga doble clic en el „Escritorio de trabajo“ (en Vista: „Mi PC“). Haga doble clic en el símbolo del soporte para la cámara.

Vaya a la carpeta „DCIM“ y las demás contenidas en la carpeta para mostrar los archivos (*.jpg = Fotos; *.wav = grabaciones de voz; *.avi = grabaciones de vídeo). Véase también la estructura de directorios en la memoria.
Arrastre ahora los archivos que desee manteniendo presionado el botón izquierdo del ratón en la carpeta correspondiente en el PC, por ejemplo en la carpeta "Mis Documentos". Puede seleccionar los archivos y utilizar las órdenes de Windows "copiar" y "pegar".
Los archivos se transfieren al PC y se guardan allí. Usted puede ver y reproducir archivos con aplicaciones gráficas y de edición adecuadas.

Estándar de memoria DCF Las grabaciones en la cámara se administran de acuerdo con el estándar DCF llamada en la cámara (guardado, nombrado, etc.; DCF = Design Rule for Camera File System, Normas de Diseño para sistema de archivos de cámara). Las grabaciones en tarjetas de memoria de otras cámaras DCF se pueden reproducir en su cámara.
Lector de tarjetas Si su PC dispone de un lector de tarjetas o si tiene conectado un aparato de lectura de tarjetas y ha guardado grabaciones en la tarjeta de memoria, puede copiar las grabaciones en la tarjeta de memoria y en el PC. El lector de tarjetas es reconocido como disco extraíble en el escritorio de trabajo de Windows (o en Vista en „Equipo“).

Estructura de la carpeta en la memoria La cámara almacena las imágenes grabadas, vídeos y archivos de audio en tres diferentes carpetas en la memoria interna o tarjeta de memoria. Los siguientes directorios se crean automáticamente: DICAM.: Todas las imágenes, vídeos y archivos de audio se guardan en esta carpeta. Se excluyen los archivos que se incluirán en el modo de subasta o en el modo de calidad de Internet. _UTUBE: En esta carpeta se guardan los vídeos tomados en el modo de calidad de Internet. Las grabaciones normales se encuentran en la carpeta „100DICAM“ y se marcan automáticamente con „DSCI“ y un número de cuatro dígitos. Una vez alcanzado el número superior „DSCI9999“, se creará para las siguientes grabaciones las siguiente carpeta „101DICAM“. Puede crear un máximo de 999 carpetas. Si se hace una grabación adicional, aparecerá un mensaje de error („No se puede crear el directorio “). En ese caso, siga las siguientes instrucciones:

Introduzca una nueva tarjeta de memoria. Introduzca un número de archivo en el menú „Configuraciones“
, entrada „Número de archivo“. El número de archivo comenzará de nuevo en 0001 en la carpeta 100DICAM.
No trate de modificar la estructura del directorio de las carpetas y archivos en la cámara (cambio de nombre, etc.). Si lo hace, podría dañar los archivos.
Instalación del software En el CD adjunto se encuentra „Impresión de medios“, un programa para la edición de imágenes Introduzca el CD en el lector de CD-ROM del ordenador. Normalmente, el CD será reconocido automáticamente y
reproducido. En caso contrario, elija en el explorador Windows > escritorio de trabajo el lector de CD y haga doble clic en el nombre de la unidad para abrir el CD.

Si la cámara no funciona correctamente, compruebe los puntos siguientes. Si el problema persiste, póngase en contacto con el Servicio de atención al cliente de MEDION.
La cámara no se enciende. La batería no está bien puesta. La batería está vacía. Cárguela. La batería no está bien metida del todo y no se ajusta bien.
La cámara no hace fotos. El flash no se carga. La memoria está llena. La tarjeta SD no está bien formateada o tiene defectos. El número máximo de archivos ha sido superado. Realice una numeración en el sentido inverso. No ha suficiente luz. Modifique el ángulo de la cámara para tomar más luz o utilice el flash.
El flash no se dispara. La cámara se ha movido durante la grabación. El flash está apagado.

Cuidado y mantenimiento
Limpie la carcasa, la lente y la pantalla de la forma siguiente: Limpie la carcasa de la cámara con un paño suave y seco. No utilice disolventes ni productos de limpieza que contengan aceite. De hacerlo, podría dañar la cámara. Para limpiar la lente o la pantalla, retire el polvo en primer lugar con un paño. Limpie después con otro paño suave. No presione la pantalla ni utilice para su limpieza ningún objeto duro. No utilice para la carcasa y la lente ningún producto de limpieza (si no puede eliminar la suciedad, consulte con su distribuidor).

Embalaje La cámara digital se entrega en un embalaje para protegerla de los posibles daños del transporte. El embalaje está hecho con materias primas y puede ser reciclado o reutilizado.
Aparato No tire bajo ningún concepto el aparato al final de su vida útil a la basura doméstica normal. Elimínelo de forma respetuosa con el medio ambiente a través de un punto de recogida local para aparatos viejos. Infórmese en su ayuntamiento local acerca del lugar del punto de recogida.

Bleiben Sie mindestens einen Meter von Kindern entfernt, wenn Sie mit dem Blitz arbeiten.
Öffnen oder zerlegen Sie das Gerät nicht. Beim Zerlegen des Geräts besteht die Gefahr eines
Hochspannungsstromschlags. Prüfungen interner Bauteile, Änderungen und Reparaturen dürfen nur von Fachkräften vorgenommen werden. Bringen Sie das Produkt zur Prüfung zu einem autorisierten Service Center.
Trennen Sie das Akkuladegerät von der Stromversorgung, wenn es nicht verwendet wird.

Prüfen Sie vor dem Einlegen des Akkus, ob die Kontakte im Gerät und am Akku sauber sind, und reinigen Sie sie gegebenenfalls.
Legen Sie grundsätzlich nur den mitgelieferten Akku ein. Achten Sie beim Einlegen des Akkus auf die Polarität (+/–). Lagern Sie den Akku an einem kühlen, trockenen Ort. Direkte
starke Wärme kann der Akku beschädigen. Setzen Sie das Gerät daher keinen starken Hitzequellen aus.
Vermeiden Sie den Kontakt mit Haut, Augen und Schleimhäuten. Bei Kontakt mit Batteriesäure die betroffenen Stellen sofort mit reichlich klarem Wasser spülen und umgehend einen Arzt aufsuchen.
Werfen Sie den Akku nicht ins Feuer, schließen Sie ihn nicht kurz und nehmen Sie ihn nicht auseinander.
Setzen Sie den Akku niemals übermäßiger Wärme wie durch Sonnenschein, Feuer oder dergleichen aus!
Wenn Sie das Gerät für längere Zeit nicht benutzen, nehmen Sie den Akku heraus.

Nehmen Sie einen ausgelaufenen Akku sofort aus dem Gerät. Reinigen Sie die Kontakte, bevor Sie einen neuen Akku einlegen. Es besteht Verätzungsgefahr durch Batteriesäure!
Entfernen Sie auch einen leeren Akku aus dem Gerät.
Vorsichtsmaßnahmen Beachten Sie bitte die folgenden Vorsichtsmaßnahmen, um Schäden an Ihrer Kamera zu vermeiden und sie stets in einwandfreiem Zustand zu halten: Trocken lagern
Diese Kamera ist nicht wasserdicht und funktioniert daher nicht einwandfrei, wenn sie ins Wasser getaucht wird oder wenn Flüssigkeiten in das Innere der Kamera gelangen.
Von Feuchtigkeit, Salz und Staub fern halten Wischen Sie Salz und Staub mit einem leicht feuchten, weichen Tuch ab, wenn Sie die Kamera am Strand oder an der See verwendet haben. Trocknen Sie die Kamera danach sorgfältig ab.
Von starken Magnetfeldern fern halten Bringen Sie die Kamera niemals in zu große Nähe von Geräten, die starke elektromagnetische Felder erzeugen, beispielsweise Elektromotoren. Starke elektromagnetische Felder können zu Fehlfunktionen der Kamera führen oder die Datenaufzeichnung stören.

Zu starke Wärme vermeiden Verwenden oder lagern Sie die Kamera nicht unter Sonneneinstrahlung oder hohen Temperaturen. Eine solche Belastung kann zum Auslaufen des Akkus oder zur Verformung des Gehäuses führen.
Starke Temperaturschwankungen vermeiden Wenn Sie das Gerät schnell aus einer kalten Umgebung in eine warme Umgebung oder umgekehrt bringen, kann sich im und am Gerät Kondenswasser bilden, das zu Funktionsstörungen und Schäden am Gerät führen kann. Warten Sie mit der Inbetriebnahme, bis sich die Temperatur des Gerätes an die Umgebungstemperatur angeglichen hat. Die Verwendung einer Transport- oder Kunststofftasche bietet begrenzten Schutz gegen Temperaturschwankungen.
Gerät nicht fallen lassen Starke, beim Fallen hervorgerufene Erschütterungen oder Vibrationen, können Fehlfunktionen verursachen. Legen Sie die Trageschlaufe um Ihr Handgelenk, wenn Sie die Kamera tragen.
Akku nicht entfernen, wenn Daten verarbeitet werden Wenn Bilddaten auf Speicherkarten aufgezeichnet oder gelöscht werden, kann das Ausschalten der Stromversorgung zu einem Datenverlust führen oder die interne Schaltung bzw. den Speicher beschädigen.

Linse und alle beweglichen Teile vorsichtig behandeln Berühren Sie nicht die Linse und den Objektivtubus. Seien Sie vorsichtig beim Umgang mit der Speicherkarte und dem Akku. Diese Teile sind nicht auf starke Belastungen ausgelegt.
Akkus Bei niedrigen Temperaturen kann die Akkukapazität stark nachlassen. Wenn Sie bei kalten Temperaturen fotografieren, halten Sie einen warmen Ersatzakku bereit. Wenn die Kontakte des Akkus verschmutzt sind, reinigen Sie sie mit einem trockenen, sauberen Tuch, oder verwenden Sie einen Radiergummi, um Rückstände zu entfernen.
Speicherkarten Schalten Sie die Stromversorgung aus, bevor Sie die Speicherkarte einsetzen oder entnehmen. Andernfalls wird die Speicherkarte eventuell instabil. Speicherkarten können während der Verwendung warm werden. Nehmen Sie die Speicherkarten immer vorsichtig aus der Kamera.

Bei niedrigen Temperaturen kann die Kapazität des Akkus durch die Verlangsamung der chemischen Reaktion deutlich abnehmen. Halten Sie für Aufnahmen bei kaltem Wetter einen zweiten Akku an einem warmen Ort (z.B. Hosentasche) bereit.
Dieses Zeichen auf Ihrer Kamera bescheinigt, dass das Gerät die EU-Richtlinien (Europäische Union) zur Störstrahlung erfüllt. CE steht für Conformité Européene (europäische Konformität).

Akkus im Ladegerät aufladen Im mitgelieferten Akkuladegerät können Sie nur die mitgelieferten Lithium-Ionen-Akkus aufladen. ACHTUNG! Versuchen Sie niemals, normale Batterien wieder
aufzuladen. Es besteht Explosionsgefahr! Verwenden Sie nur das mitgelieferte Ladegerät zum Aufladen des
Akkus. Bedecken Sie das Ladegerät nicht mit Gegenständen
(Zeitschriften, Tischdecken, Vorhänge usw.), um einen Wärmestau zu verhindern.
Stellen Sie keine offenen Brandquellen wie z.B. brennende Kerzen auf das Gerät oder in unmittelbare Nähe des Gerätes.
Legen Sie den Akku wie aufgezeigt in die Ladeschale. Die Kontakte
des Akkus müssen an den Kontakten der Ladeschale anliegen.

Schieben Sie den Akku gegen den Widerstand der Federkontakte nach vorn. Achten Sie darauf, dass der Akku unter der Führung liegt.
Entfernen Sie die Abdeckung des Ladegerätes. Schieben Sie den mitgelieferte Aufsatz wie aufgezeigt auf die
Ladeschale. Stecken Sie die Ladeschale in eine 230 V ~ 50 Hz Steckdose. Die Ladelampe leuchtet orange. Die Ladezeit beträgt ca. zwei Stunden. Wenn der Akku voll ist,
leuchtet die Ladelampe grün. Nehmen Sie die Ladeschale vom Netz. Obwohl ein Überladeschutz besteht, nehmen Sie die Ladeschale nach der Aufladung vom Netz, um unnötigen Stromverbrauch zu vermeiden. Setzen Sie den Akku wie im Folgenden beschrieben in die Kamera
ein.
Die Batterieladeanzeige auf dem Display der Kamera zeigt Ihnen den Ladezustand des Akkus an. Laden Sie den Akku auf, sobald der Akku leer ist.

Hinweise zur Benutzung des Akkus Die Akkuleistung ist in kalten Umgebungen reduziert (-10°C oder kälter). Wärmen Sie den Akku auf (z. B. in der Tasche Ihrer Kleidung), bevor Sie ihn in kalten Umgebungen verwenden.
Akku einsetzen Zum Betrieb der Kamera wird der mitgelieferte Lithium-Ionen-Akku benötigt. Schalten Sie ggf. die Kamera aus. Schieben Sie den Schließer des Akkufachs in Pfeilrichtung auf. Das
Akkufach öffnet sich.
Stecken Sie den Akku so in das Akkufach, dass die Kontakte des
Akkus an den Kontakten im Akkufach anliegen.
Schließen Sie das Akkufach und schieben Sie den Schließer wieder
in seine Ausgangsposition.

SD-Karten einsetzen und herausnehmen Wenn keine Karte eingelegt ist, werden die Aufnahmen im internen Speicher abgelegt. Bitte beachten Sie, dass der interne Speicher begrenzt ist. Verwenden Sie daher eine SD -Speicherkarte, um die Speicherkapazität zu erhöhen. Wenn eine Karte eingelegt ist, werden die Aufnahmen auf der Karte gespeichert.
Karte einsetzen Schalten Sie die Kamera aus. Schieben Sie die Abdeckung des Akkufachs nach außen, um das
Fach zu öffnen.
Stecken Sie die Karte mit den Kontakten unten in den
Kartenschacht.

Schließen Sie das Akkufach und schieben Sie den Schieber wieder
in seine Ausgangsposition.
Um die Karte zu entnehmen, drücken Sie die Karte kurz nach unten, um sie zu entriegeln. Die Karte wird ein Stück heraus geschoben und kann entnommen werden.
Handschlaufe anbringen Befestigen Sie zur besseren Handhabung der Kamera und aus Sicherheitsgründen die Handschlaufe. Führen Sie die Schlaufe wie in der Abbildung dargestellt durch die Öse.

Ziehen Sie das andere Ende der Handschlaufe durch die Schlaufe der dünnen Schnur, und ziehen Sie die Handschlaufe fest.
Wenn Sie die Kamera mit der Handschlaufe tragen, achten Sie darauf, dass die Kamera nirgends anstößt. Wenn Sie die Handschlaufe anbringen, legen Sie die Kamera auf eine feste Oberfläche, damit sie nicht herunterfallen kann und beschädigt wird.

Erste Schritte
Kamera einschalten Drücken Sie die EIN/AUS-Taste für 1 bis 2 Sekunden, um die
Kamera einzuschalten. Das Objektiv fährt heraus, die Betriebsanzeige leuchtet grün und das Display schaltet ein. Die Kamera befindet sich im Aufnahmemodus. Wenn sich die Kamera nicht einschaltet, überprüfen Sie, ob der Akku richtig eingelegt ist und ob er geladen ist.
Kamera ausschalten Halten Sie die EIN/AUS-Taste etwas länger gedrückt, um die
Kamera auszuschalten.
Sprache und Datum/Zeit einstellen Bevor Sie die Kamera zum ersten Mal verwenden, sollten Sie das aktuelle Datum, die aktuelle Zeit und die gewünschte Menüsprache einstellen. Beide Einstellungen werden im Menü „Einstellungen“ vorgenommen: Drücken Sie bei eingeschalteter Kamera die M -Taste, um die
Menüs zu öffnen. Wählen Sie mit den Tasten oder das Menü „Einstellungen“ .

Datum und Uhrzeit einstellen Wählen Sie im Menü „Einstellungen“ mit den Richtungstasten
oder den Eintrag „Datum/Zeit“ und drücken Sie SET. Das Einstellungsmenü öffnet sich. Neben Datum und Uhrzeit können Sie auch das Datumsformat einstellen. Sie haben folgende Möglichkeiten: JJ/MM/TT (Jahr/Monat/Tag); MM/TT/JJ (Monat/Tag/Jahr), TT/MM/JJ (Tag/Monat/ Jahr) Mit den Tasten oder wählen Sie den Eintrag aus, den Sie
ändern möchten. Mit den Tasten oder stellen Sie den Wert ein.
Halten Sie die Tasten gedrückt, um schnell durch die Ziffern zu laufen.
Wenn der gewünschte Wert eingestellt ist, gehen Sie mit zum nächsten Eintrag, z. B. Monat usw.
Am Ende drücken Sie SET, um die festgelegten Werte zu bestätigen.
Datum und Uhrzeit können von der Kamera nur im Wiedergabemodus angezeigt werden. Diese Angaben werden nicht gedruckt. Die Zeiteinstellung bleibt über die interne Batterie gespeichert. Sie geht jedoch verloren, wenn der Akku für mehr als 48 Stunden aus der Kamera entfernt wird.

Sprache einstellen Wählen Sie im Menü „Einstellungen“ mit den Tasten oder
den Eintrag für „Sprache“ (engl. Language) und drücken Sie SET.
Das Sprachauswahlmenü öffnet sich. Wählen Sie mit oder die gewünschte Sprache aus und

Stromsparfunktion Wird die Kamera für 60 Sekunden nicht benutzt, schaltet sich die Kamera aus. Sie können die automatische Ausschaltzeit auch auf 3 oder 5 Minuten stellen. Die Stromsparfunktion ist nicht aktiv: während der Aufnahme von Audio- und Videoclips; während der Wiedergabe von Bildern, Videoclips oder
Audioaufnahmen; während die Kamera über den USB-Anschluss mit einem anderen
Gerät verbunden ist.

Aufnahme- und Wiedergabemodus Nach dem Einschalten ist der Aufnahmemodus aktiv: Sie können direkt Fotos machen. Außerdem können Sie Audio- und Videoclips aufnehmen. Im Wiedergabemodus können Sie Fotos, Audio- und Videoclips wiedergeben, bearbeiten und löschen. Um den Wiedergabemodus einzustellen, schieben Sie den Regler
auf das Wiedergabesymbol . Das Wiedergabesymbol erscheint links oben im Display. Das zuletzt aufgenommene Bild wird angezeigt.

Erste Aufnahmen machen
Aufnahmemodus einstellen Wenn die Kamera eingeschaltet wird, ist automatisch der Aufnahmemodus aktiv. Im Grundzustand erscheint links oben im Display Auto, für den Aufnahmemodus Automatisch. Mehr zu den Aufnahmemodi und den Symbolen erfahren Sie auf Seite 63. Ist nicht der Aufnahme-, sondern der Wiedergabemodus aktiv, schieben Sie den Regler in den gewünschten Aufnahmemodus.
Tipps für gute Bildaufnahmen Bewegen Sie die Kamera langsam, damit die Fotos nicht unscharf
werden. Beim Drücken des Auslösers darf sich die Kamera nicht bewegen. Bewegen Sie die Kamera nicht sofort nach dem Drücken des Auslösers.
Warten Sie auf das Auslösesignal. Betrachten Sie das Motiv auf dem Display, bevor Sie den Auslöser
drücken. Prüfen Sie den Winkel, wenn das Motiv von hinten beleuchtet ist.
Verändern Sie Ihre Position, um die Hintergrundbeleuchtung zu reduzieren.

Um gute Videoclips zu erstellen, schwenken Sie die Kamera langsam. Wenn Sie zu schnell schwenken, werden Videoaufnahmen unscharf und verschwommen.
Foto erstellen Wenn Sie das Bild auf dem Display sehen können, drücken Sie
den Auslöser zunächst ein wenig nach unten. Die gelben Bildausschnittszeichen erscheinen rot und die Betriebsanzeige blinkt, wenn der Autofokus nicht fokussieren kann.
Es erscheinen die Werte für die Verschlussgeschwindigkeit, die Blende und der ISO-Wert, sofern ein ISO-Wert eingestellt ist. Drücken Sie den Auslöser ganz herunter, um das Bild aufzuneh-
men. Ein Ton signalisiert, dass das Foto aufgenommen wurde. Die Fotos werden als JPEG-Dateien gespeichert.
Falls die Aufnahme zu verwackeln droht, erscheint zusätzlich das Symbol . In diesem Fall sollten Sie die Kamera ruhig halten oder ein Stativ benutzt werden. Über das Funktionsmenü können Sie verschiedene Einstellungen zur Aufnahme vornehmen, siehe Seite 42.
Aktivieren sie den Makromodus, durch Druck auf die – Taste, um Nahaufnahmen zu erstellen.

Stabilisator verwenden Der Stabilisator ermöglicht bessere Aufnahmen bei schlechten Lichtbedingungen, das Risiko verwackelter Aufnahmen wird reduziert. Drücken Sie die Bildstabilisatortaste.
Blitz verwenden Wenn das Licht für das Foto nicht ausreicht, kann der integrierte Blitz für das erforderliche zusätzliche Licht sorgen. Durch wiederholtes Drücken der Blitz-Taste wählen Sie folgende Blitzeinstellungen:
AUTO: Der Blitz wird automatisch aktiviert, wenn die Aufnahmebedingungen eine zusätzliche Beleuchtung erfordern.
Mit Vorblitz vor dem eigentlichen Blitz; zur Vermeidung roter Augen. Die Kamera erkennt die Helligkeit der Objekte und blitzt nur im Bedarfsfall. Blitz immer an
„Slow Sync“: Der Blitz wird mit langsamer Verschlusszeit synchronisiert. Blitz immer aus
Der Blitz arbeitet nur im Einzel- und Selbstauslösermodus. Er kann bei Bildfolgen und für Videoaufnahmen nicht verwendet werden.

Durch die Verwendung des Blitzes erhöht sich der Akkuverbrauch. Ist der Akku fast leer, benötigt der Blitz länger zum Laden. Blitzen Sie Menschen und Tiere nicht aus der Nähe an. Halten Sie mindestens 1 Meter Abstand.
Zoom – vergrößern oder verkleinern Die Kamera verfügt über einen optischen und einen digitalen Zoom. Der optische Zoom wird durch Einstellung der Linse erreicht, der digitale Zoom wird durch das Einstellungsmenü aktiviert. Drücken Sie den Zoomregler in Richtung – . Es erscheint der
Balken der die Zoom-Einstellung wiedergibt. W / : Das Bild wird herausgezoomt (Weitwinkel); Sie erfassen einen größeren Ausschnitt T / : Das Bild wird herangezoomt („Telephoto“); Sie erfassen einen kleineren Ausschnitt.
Befindet sich die Markierung im linken Teil des Balkens, wird das optische Zoom angewendet.
Wenn Sie erneut drücken, wird das digitale Zoom automatisch eingeschaltet. Sie können in fünf Stufen weiter heranzoomen. Hierfür muss im Einstellungsmenü das digitale Zoom eingeschaltet sein!
Für Videoaufnahmen ist das digitale Zoom nicht verfügbar.

Beim digitalen Zoom wird der vergrößerte Bildausschnitt durch Interpolation vergrößert; die Bildqualität kann darunter etwas leiden.
Fokusmodus einstellen Mit dieser Funktion können Sie den Fokustyp definieren, wenn Sie ein Foto oder ein Video aufnehmen. Drücken Sie die Makro-Taste wiederholt, bis das Symbol des
gewünschten Fokusmodus links unten im LCD angezeigt wird. Ihre Kamera bietet vier verschiedene Fokusmodi: Normal Bei normalem Fokus beginnt der Fokusbereich bei 40 cm. Wenn die Kamera auf den Normal-Modus eingestellt ist, wird kein Symbol angezeigt.
Makro Dieser Modus eignet sich speziell für Nahaufnahmen. In diesem Modus können Sie durch einen fixierten Fokus Einzelheiten einfangen und das Motiv auch bei geringer Distanz scharf stellen. PF Multifokus Wenn der Multifokus aktiv ist, stellt die Kamera auf jedes Objekt scharf. INF Unendlich Bei der Einstellung Unendlich fokussiert die Kamera auf besonders weit entfernte Objekte.

Belichtungskorrektur (EV) Durch Korrektur des Belichtungswerts (EV = Exposure Value) können Sie Bilder anpassen, die ohne Einstellung zu hell oder zu dunkel würden. Sie können den Wert in neun Stufen zwischen +2,0 EV und -2,0 EV einstellen. Auf dem Display erscheint ein Balkendiagramm mit 3 Bildern zum abgleichen. Das linke Bild z.B. zeigt eine Belichtungskorrektur von – 0.3 an, das mittlere zeigt die aktuell gewählte Belichtungskorrektur an und das rechte Bild zeigt eine Belichtungskorrektur von + 0.3 an. Verwenden Sie bei schwachen Lichtverhältnissen einen positiven Wert und bei starkem Licht einen negativen Wert.

Voraufnahme Die Einstellung ist nur für die Aufnahme von Videoclips verfügbar. Durch die Voraufnahme speichert die Kamera bereits die 3 Sekunden bevor Sie den Auslöser drücken. Wählen Sie “AN”, um die 3 sekündige Voraufnahme zu aktivieren.

Die Kamera beendet automatisch die Wiedergabe und wechselt in den Anzeigemodus. Wenn eine Speicherkarte eingesetzt ist, können Sie nur die auf der Speicherkarte vorhandenen Dateien löschen. Wenn die Speicherkarte gesperrt ist, können Sie die auf der Speicherkarte vorhandenen Dateien nicht löschen. Eine gelöschte Datei kann nicht wiederhergestellt werden. Bildaufnahmen die nicht mit Vorblitz aufgenommen wurden, können Sie hier korrigieren. (siehe Seite 80). Die korrigierte Datei können Sie unter einem neuen Namen speichern oder die Originaldatei überschreiben.
Srachnotiz Sie können zu jedem aufgenommenen Foto eine Sprachnotiz speichern. (siehe Seite 82) Die maximale Dauer der Sprachnotiz beträgt 30 Sekunden. Die Restlaufzeit wird auf dem Display angezeigt. Existiert bereits eine Sprachnotiz zu dem gewählten Foto, wird diese überschrieben.
Farbmodus Sie können mit vorhandenen Bildaufnahmen nachträgliche Farb- Effekte erzeugen (siehe Seite 82).
Zuschneiden Mit dieser Funktion können Sie einen Bildausschnitt wählen und das Bild auf diese Größe zuschneiden. Der auf dem Display nicht sichtbare Rand wird gelöscht (siehe Seite 84). Die korrigierte Datei können Sie unter einem neuen Namen speichern oder die Originaldatei überschreiben.

Einstellung BedeutungDPOF DPOF steht für „Digital Print Order Format“.
Sie können hier Druckeinstellungen für Bilder festlegen, wenn Sie die Bilder von einem Fotostudio oder einem DPOF-kompatiblen Drucker ausgeben lassen wollen. Mit einem DPOF-kompatiblen Drucker können Sie die Bilder direkt ausdrucken, ohne sie vorher auf den Computer zu übertragen. Sie können alle Fotos, ein Foto ausdrucken, oder die DPOF-Einstellungen zurücksetzen. Mit den Tasten oder stellen Sie die Anzahl der Ausdrucke für jedes Foto ein. Mit der Taste Fn schalten Sie den Datumstempel ein oder aus. Sie können beim DPOF bis zu 99 Kopien festlegen. Wenn Sie 0 Kopien einstellen, deaktiviert sich die DPOF-Einstellung dieses Bildes automatisch.

Der radiale Weichzeichner ist ein Effekt, der um die Bildmitte unscharf zeichnet. Mit den Tasten oder wählen Sie die Weichzeichenrstufe. Drücken Sie SET um das Bild abzuspeichern.

Diashow zeigen Sie können die Fotos als Diashow ablaufen lassen. Wählen Sie im Wiedergabemenü den Eintrag Diashow. Das Menü
„Diashow“ öffnet sich. Folgende Einstellungen stehen zur Verfügung: Wählen Sie das Intervall indem die Bilder eingeblendet werden sollen (1, 3, 5 oder 10 Sekunden). Für die Übergänge können Sie diverse Effekte wählen. Wählen Sie, ob die Bildfolge ständig wiederholt werden soll („ “), oder nach dem letzten Bild enden soll („ “). Wenn alle Einstellungen gesetzt sind, wählen Sie den Eintrag

Rote Augen korrigieren Diese Funktion dient der Reduzierung des Rote-Augen-Effekts auf Fotos. Diese Funktion ist nur bei Fotos verfügbar. Die Rote-Augen-Korrektur kann bei einem Bild mehrmals angewendet werden; allerdings verschlechtert sich dadurch eventuell auch stufenweise die Bildqualität. So aktivieren Sie die Rote-Augen-Korrektur: Wählen Sie im Wiedergabemodus das Bild aus. Öffnen Sie im Wiedergabemenü das Untermenü „Rote-Augen-
Korrektur“. Auf dem Display erscheinen die Bildvorschau und das Rote-Augen-Menü. Wählen Sie den Eintrag Start und drücken Sie zum Starten der

Sprachnotiz aufnehmen Wählen Sie im Wiedergabemodus das gewünschte Foto aus.
Wenn das Foto bereits eine Sprachnotiz enthält, erscheint das Sprachnotizsymbol.
Öffnen Sie im Wiedergabemenü das Untermenü „Sprachnotiz”. Auf dem Display erscheinen die Bildvorschau und ein Auswahlmenü. Wählen Sie Start und drücken Sie die Taste SET, um die Aufnahme
zu starten. Das Mikrofon befindet sich unterhalb der Linse. Die Aufnahme wird automatisch nach 30 Sekunden abgebrochen.
Wenn sie die Aufnahme vorher beenden möchten, wählen Sie Stop und drücken Sie erneut die Taste SET.
Sie können Sprachnotizen nur Fotos zufügen, nicht Videoclips. Geschützten Bildern können Sie keine Sprachnotizen zufügen. Sie können eine Sprachnotiz nur zusammen mit dem Foto löschen, nicht separat.

Anschluss an TV und PC
Aufnahmen auf einem Fernsehgerät anzeigen Sie können die Aufnahmen der Kamera auf einem Fernsehgerät wiedergeben. Schalten Sie Kamera und Fernsehgerät aus. Verbinden Sie das mitgelieferte TV-Kabel
mit dem USB-Anschluss der Kamera und dem Videoeingang (gelb) und Audioeingang (weiß) des Fernsehgeräts.
Schalten Sie Kamera und Fernsehgerät ein. Schalten Sie die Kamera in den
Wiedergabemodus und starten Sie die gewünschte Wiedergabe.
Falls das Fernsehgerät das Kamerabild nicht von selbst erkennt, schalten Sie am Fernsehgerät den Videoeingang ein (in der Regel mit der Taste AV).
Eventuell müssen Sie im Kamera-Menü „Einstellungen“ , im Untermenü „TV-Ausgabe“, zwischen PAL und NTSC wählen.

USB-Kabel einsetzen Schalten Sie die Kamera aus. Verbinden Sie das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel bei eingeschaltetem
Computer mit dem USB-Anschluss der Kamera und einem USB-Anschluss am PC.

Im Kameradisplay erscheint „Verbinden“. Die Kamera wird vom Computer als Massenspeichergerät (Wechselmedium) erkannt. Unter Windows XP, Windows Vista und Windows 7 können Sie sofort auf den Inhalt des Kameraspeichers zugreifen.

Unter anderen Windows-Versionen öffnen Sie den Windows Explorer oder doppelklicken Sie auf „Arbeitsplatz“ (unter Vista: „Computer“). Doppelklicken Sie auf das Mediensymbol für die Kamera. Navigieren Sie zum Ordner „DCIM“ und ggf. auf die darin
enthaltenen Ordner, um die Dateien anzuzeigen (*.jpg = Fotos; *.avi = Tonaufnahmen; *.wav = Videoaufnahmen). Vgl. auch Ordnerstruktur im Speicher.
Ziehen Sie die gewünschten Dateien nun bei gedrückter linker Maustaste in den dafür vorgesehenen Ordner auf dem PC, z. B. in den Ordner „Eigene Dateien“. Sie können die Dateien auch markieren und die Windows-Befehle „Kopieren“ und „Einfügen“ verwenden.
Die Dateien werden auf den PC übertragen und dort gespeichert. Sie können die Dateien mit einer geeigneten Anwendungssoftware anzeigen, wiedergeben und bearbeiten.
DCF-Speicherstandard Die Aufnahmen auf Ihrer Kamera werden nach dem so genannten DCF-Standard auf der Kamera verwaltet (gespeichert, benannt etc.; DCF = Design Rule for Camera File System). Aufnahmen auf Speicherkarten anderer DCF-Kameras können auf Ihrer Kamera wiedergegeben werden.

Kartenlaufwerk Wenn Ihr PC über ein Kartenlaufwerk verfügt oder ein Kartenlesegerät angeschlossen ist und Sie die Aufnahmen auf der Speicherkarte gespeichert haben, können Sie die Aufnahmen natürlich auch darüber auf den PC kopieren. Der Kartenleser wird ebenfalls als Wechseldatenträger im Windows-Arbeitsplatz (bzw. unter Vista im „Computer“) erkannt.

Ordnerstruktur im Speicher Die Kamera speichert die aufgenommenen Bilder, Videos und Audiodateien in drei verschiedenen Verzeichnissen auf dem internen Speicher oder der Speicherkarte. Folgende Verzeichnisse werden automatisch erstellt: DICAM.: Alle aufgenommenen Bilder, Videos und Audiodateien werden in diesem Ordner gespeichert. Ausgenommen sind Dateien, die im Auktions- oder Internet-Qualität-Modus aufgenommen werden. _UTUBE: Die im Internet-Qualität -Modus aufgenommenen Videos werden in diesem Ordner gespeichert. Normale Aufnahmen befinden sich im Ordner „100DICAM“ und werden automatisch mit „DSCI“ und einer vierstelligen Nummer bezeichnet. Wenn die höchste Nummer „DSCI9999“ erreicht ist, wird für die weiteren Aufnahmen der nächste Ordner „101DICAM“ angelegt usw. Maximal können 999 Ordner angelegt werden. Wird eine weitere Aufnahme gemacht, erscheint eine Fehlermeldung („Verzeichnis kann nicht

erstellt werden“). In diesem Fall gehen Sie folgendermaßen vor: Setzen Sie eine neue Speicherkarte ein. Setzen Sie die Dateinummern im Menü „Einstellungen“ ,
Eintrag „Dateinr.“ zurück. Die Dateizählung beginnt wieder bei 0001 im Ordner DSCI1000.
Versuchen Sie nicht, die Ordner und Dateien in der Kamera eigenen Verzeichnisstruktur zu ändern (umzubenennen etc.). Sie können die Dateien dadurch zerstören.
Software installieren Auf der mitgelieferten CD befindet sich „Media Impression“, ein Programm zur Bearbeitung Ihrer Bilder Legen Sie die CD in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein. In der Regel wird die CD automatisch erkannt und dargestellt.
Falls nicht, wählen Sie im Windows-Explorer > Arbeitsplatz das CD-Laufwerk und doppelklicken Sie auf den Laufwerksnamen, um die CD zu öffnen.
Auf der Startseite sehen Sie den Inhalt der CD. Um die Software zu installieren, markieren Sie diese und klicken

Fehlersuche
Wenn die Kamera nicht einwandfrei funktioniert, überprüfen Sie die folgenden Punkte. Wenn das Problem bestehen bleibt, wenden Sie sich bitte an den MEDION-Service.
Die Kamera lässt sich nicht einschalten. Der Akku ist falsch eingelegt. Der Akku ist leer. Laden Sie ihn auf. Die Akkufachklappe ist nicht ganz geschlossen.
Die Kamera nimmt keine Fotos auf. Der Blitz lädt noch. Der Speicher ist voll. Die SD-Karte ist nicht korrekt formatiert oder defekt. Die maximale Dateianzahl wurde überschritten. Führen Sie eine Dateinummer-Rückstellung aus. Nicht genügend Licht. Ändern Sie den Kamerawinkel, um mehr Licht aufzunehmen, oder verwenden Sie den Blitz.
Der Blitz löst nicht aus. Die Kamera wurde während der Aufnahme bewegt. Der Blitz ist ausgeschaltet.

Das Bild ist unscharf. Die Kamera wurde während der Aufnahme bewegt. Das Motiv befand sich außerhalb des Einstellbereichs der Kamera. Verwenden Sie ggf. den Makromodus für Nahaufnahmen.
Das Bild wird nicht auf dem Display angezeigt. Es wurde eine SD-Karte eingelegt, die auf einer anderen Kamera Bilder im Nicht-DCF-Modus aufgenommen hat. Solche Bilder kann die Kamera nicht anzeigen.

Aufnahmen auf anderen Speicherkarten werden nicht angezeigt. Die Aufnahmen auf Speicherkarten anderer Kameras werden angezeigt, wenn die andere Kamera ebenfalls das DCF-Speichersystem verwendet.
Die Aufnahmen können über das USB-Kabel nicht auf den PC übertragen werden. Die Kamera ist nicht eingeschaltet.
Beim erstmaligen Anschluss der Kamera an den PC wird keine neue Hardware gefunden Der USB-Anschluss des PCs ist im BIOS deaktiviert. Aktivieren Sie den Port im BIOS des PCs. Lesen Sie ggf. im Handbuch des PCs nach.

Wartung und Pflege
Reinigen Sie das Gehäuse, die Linse und das Display folgendermaßen: Reinigen Sie das Kameragehäuse mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch. Verwenden Sie keine Verdünner oder Reinigungsmittel, die Öl enthalten. Dadurch kann die Kamera beschädigt werden. Um die Linse oder das Display zu reinigen, entfernen Sie den Staub zuerst mit einer Linsenbürste. Reinigen Sie sie anschließend mit einem weichen Tuch. Drücken Sie nicht auf das Display und verwenden Sie zu dessen Reinigung keine harten Gegenstände. Verwenden Sie für das Gehäuse und die Linse keine starken Reinigungsmittel (wenden Sie sich an Ihren Händler, wenn sich Schmutz nicht entfernen lässt).

Entsorgung
Verpackung Ihre Digitalkamera befindet sich zum Schutz vor Trans-portschäden in einer Verpackung, Verpackungen sind Rohmaterialien und können wiederverwertet werden oder dem Recycling-Kreislauf zugeführt werden.
Gerät Werfen Sie das Gerät am Ende seiner Lebenszeit keinesfalls in den normalen Hausmüll. Entsorgen Sie es umweltgerecht über eine örtliche Sammelstelle für Altgeräte. Erkundigen Sie sich bei der örtlichen Verwaltung nach dem Standort der Sammelstellen.

About these instructions Read the safety instructions carefully before use. Note the warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions.
Keep the Operating Instructions always within reach. Also pass on these Instructions and the guarantee card under all circumstances if you sell or pass on the device.
Proper use The device is suitable for recordings in the digital format. Do not operate the device either in extreme heat or extreme cold. The device is not suitable for operation in extreme conditions.
Warning To avoid injury, please note the following warnings when using this product. Make sure you are not too close to people when using the flash.
Otherwise you could damage people’s eyes. Keep a distance of at least one metre from children when working
with the flash function. Do not open up or dismantle the device.

Dismantling the device could lead to an electric shock. Tests on internal components, modifications and repairs should be carried out by specialists only. Please take the product to an authorised service centre for checks.
Separate the battery charging device from the electricity supply if it is not being used.
The socket must be close to the device and within easy reach. Remove the battery to prevent it leaking, if you will not use the
camera for a longer time. The camera and the power pack must not be subjected either to
drops of water or spray. Do not place any objects filled with liquid (such as vases) on the device.
Information about the battery You can operate your camera with the lithium-ion battery supplied with it. Charge the battery exclusively in the battery charger supplied with the device. Pay attention to the following information about dealing with batteries: Keep children away from the rechargeable batteries. Seek medical
attention immediately if a battery is swallowed. CAUTION! Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

ATTENTION! There will be the danger of explosion in the case of the improper replacement of the batteries. Only replace the battery by the same or an equivalent type.
Check that the contacts in the device and on the battery are clean and clean them if necessary, before inserting the battery.
Only insert the battery supplied with the device in principle. Pay attention to the polarity (+/–) when inserting the battery. Store the battery in a cool dry place. Direct strong heat can
damage the battery. Do not subject the device to any strong sources of heat for this reason.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. If these areas come into contact with battery acid, rinse them immediately with plenty of clean water and contact a doctor immediately.
Do not throw the battery into fire, short-circuit it or take it apart. Never subject the battery to excess heat, such as because of
sunshine, fire or a similar phenomenon. Remove the battery if you are not going to use the device for a
longer time. Remove an empty battery from the device immediately. Clean the
contacts before you insert a new battery. There will be the danger of causticization by battery acid.
Also remove an empty battery from the device.

Precautionary measures Pay attention to the following precautionary measures to avoid damage to your camera and to keep it always in a perfect state: Store it in a dry place
This camera is not watertight and will not function faultlessly for this reason, if it is submerged in water or if liquids reach the inside of the camera.
Keep it away from moisture, salt and dust Wash off salt and dust with a slightly damp, soft cloth, if you have used the camera on the beach or at the seaside. Dry the camera carefully after this.
Keep it away from strong magnetic fields Never take the camera too close to devices that create strong electro-magnetic fields, such as electrical motors. Strong electro-magnetic fields can lead to malfunctions of the camera or disrupt the data recording.
Avoid too strong heat Do not use or store the camera subject to solar radiation or high temperatures. Such a strain can lead to the battery leaking or a deformation of the casing.
Avoid high variations in temperature Condensed water, which can lead to functional disruptions and damage to the device, can form in and on the device, if you take the device from a cold environment into a warm environment, or

reverse, quickly. Wait to bring the camera into operation until the temperature of the device has adjusted to the surrounding temperature. The use of a transport or plastic bag offers limited protection against fluctuations in temperature.
Do not drop the device Strong shocks or vibrations caused during falling can cause malfunctions. Place the carrying loop around your wrist if you are carrying the camera.
Do not remove the battery when data is being processed. Switching off the electricity supply if image data on memory cards are being displayed or deleted can lead to a loss of date or damage the memory.
Treat the lens and all moveable parts with care. Do not touch the lens or the lens barrel. Be careful when handling the memory card and the battery. These parts have not been designed for heavy stresses.
Batteries The battery capacity can decline sharply at low temperatures. Keep a warm replacement battery ready, if you are photographing in cold temperatures. Clean the contacts of the battery with a dry, clean cloth if they are dirty, or use a rubber to remove residues.
Memory cards Switch the electricity supply off before you insert or remove the

memory card. Otherwise, the memory card may become unstable. Memory cards can become warm during use. Always remove the memory card from the camera carefully.
At low temperatures, the capacity of the battery can drop significantly due to the reduced speed of the chemical reactions. When recording in cold weather keep a second battery pack in reserve in a warm place (e.g. trouser pocket).
This symbol on your camera certifies that the device fulfils the EU Directives (European Union) concerning perturbing radiation. CE stands for Conformité Européene (European Conformity).
The camera is for private use only and not intended for use by companies in the heavy industry sector.

Charging batteries in the charging device You will only be able to charge the lithium-ion battery supplied with the device in the battery charging device supplied. CAUTION! Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
Danger of explosion! Only use the battery charging device supplied with the device to
charge the battery. Do not cover the charging device with objects (newspapers, table
cloths, curtains, etc.), to avoid heat building up. Do not place any open sources of fire, such as burning candles,
on the device or in the immediate vicinity of the device.
Place the battery in the charging tray as illustrated. The contacts
of the battery must lie at the contacts of the charging tray. Push the battery forwards against the resistance of the spring
contacts, Make sure that the battery lies under the guide.

Push the cover supplied with the device onto the charging tray as shown.
Plug the charging tray into a 230 V ~ 50 Hz socket. The charging light will shine orange. The charging time is approx. two hours. The charging light will
shine green, when the battery has been completely charged. Detach the charging tray from the network. Detach the charging tray from the network, to avoid unnecessary electricity consumption, although a protection against overcharging exists. Insert the battery into the camera as described in the following.
The battery charging symbol on the display of the camera will show you the charging status of the battery. Charge the battery as soon as it is empty.
Notes about using the battery The battery performance is reduced in cold environments (-10°C or colder). Warm the battery up (in a pocket, for example), before you use it in cold environments.

Inserting the battery The lithium-ion battery supplied with the camera is necessary to operate it. Switch the camera off. Push the closure of the battery compartment in the direction of
the arrow. The battery compartment will open.
Push the battery into the battery compartment so that the
contacts of the battery lie at the contacts in the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment and push the closure back to its
starting position.

Inserting and removing SD cards The recordings will be stored in the internal memory if no card has been inserted. Please pay attention to the fact that the internal memory is limited. Use an SD memory card to increase the memory capacity for this reason. The recordings will be stored on the card if one has been inserted.
Inserting a card Switch the camera off. Push the cover of the battery compartment outwards, to open the
compartment.
Push the card into the card slot with the contacts pointing
downwards.
Close the battery compartment and push the closure back to its
starting position.

Press the card downwards briefly, to unlock it, in order to remove
it. The card will be pushed out slightly and can be removed.
Attaching the hand loop Attach the hand loop for better handling of the camera and for safety reasons. Take the loop through the eye as shown in the illustration.
Pull the other end of the hand loop through the loop of the thin
cord and pull the hand loop firmly. Pay attention that the camera does not bump into anything if you are carrying it with the hand loop. Place the camera on a firm surface, do that it cannot fall down and be damaged, when you are attaching the hand loop.

First Steps
Switching on the camera Press the ON/OFF button for 1 to 2 seconds to turn on the
camera. The lens will move out, the operating display will shine green and the display will switch on. The camera will be in the Recording mode. Check that the battery is inserted correctly and that it is charged, if the camera does not switch on.
Switching off the camera Hold the ON/OFF button held down for rather longer, to switch
off the camera.
Setting the language and the date/time You should set the required menu language and the current date and time, before you use the camera for the first time. Both settings are made in the ‘Settings’ menu: Press the button when the camera is switched on, to open the
menus. Select the ‘Settings’ menu with the or the button.

Setting the language Select the entry for ‘Language’ in the ‘Settings’ menu with the
or the button and press SET. The Speech Selection menu will open. Select the required language with or and press SET.
Setting the date and the time Select the ‘Date/Time’ entry in the ‘Settings’ menu with the
or directional button and press SET. The Settings menu will open. You will also be able to set the date format, as well as the date and the time. You have the following possibilities: JJ/MM/TT (Year/Month/Day); MM/TT/JJ (Month/Day/Year), TT/MM/JJ (Day/Month/Year) Select the entry that you wish to change with the or the
button. Set the value with the or the button.
Hold the buttons pressed down to run quickly through the numbers.
Go the next entry, e.g. Month, etc, with , when the required value has been set.
Press SET at the end, to confirm the established values.

The date and the time can only be displayed by the camera in the Replay mode. This information will not be printed. The Time setting will remain stored by the internal battery. However, it will be lost if the battery is removed from the camera for more than 48 hours.
Electricity-saving function The camera will switch off if it has not been used for 60 seconds. You can also set the automatic switching-off time to 3 or 5 minutes. The electricity-saving function will not be active: During the recording of audio and video clips; During the replay of photos, video clips or audio recordings; While the camera is connected to a different device through the
USB connection.

The Recording and Replay modes The Recording mode is active after the camera has been switched on; you will be able to take photos directly. You will also be able to take audio and video clips. You will be able to replay, process and delete photos, audio and video clips in the Replay mode. Push the control to the Replay symbol to set the Replay mode.
The Replay symbol will appear above left in the display. The image taken most recently will be displayed.
Push the control back to the required position for photo or video recordings, to return to the Recording mode.

Making the first recordings
Setting the Recording mode The Recording mode is active automatically when the camera is switched on. Auto, for the automatic Recording mode, will appear above left in the display in the basic status. You will find more about the Recording mode and the symbols on Page 59. Push the control to the required Recording mode, if the Replay mode, not the Recording mode, is active.
Tips for good photographic recordings Move the camera slowly so that the photos do not become fuzzy.
The camera should not move when pressing the shutter release. Do not move the camera directly after pressing the shutter release.
Wait for the release signal. Observe the subject on the display before you press the Release
button. Check the angle if the subject is lit from behind. Change your
position to reduce the background lighting. Swing the camera slowly to make good video clips. Video
recordings will be blurred and indistinct if you swing the camera too quickly.

Taking a photo Press the Release button down slightly initially, when you see the
image on the display. The yellow image cut-out signs will appear red and the operating display will flash, if the auto focus cannot focus. The values for the shutter speed, the aperture and the ISO value,
if an ISO value has been set, will appear. Press the Release button down completely, to take the picture. A
sound will signal that the photo has been taken. The photos will be saved as JPEG files.
The symbol will appear in addition, if the recording threatens to blur. You should hold the camera still or a tripod should be used in this case. You can make different settings for recording through the Functions menu, see Page 39.
Activate the Macro mode, by pressing the button, to make close recordings.

Using the stabiliser The stabilizer enables better recordings in poor light conditions; the risk of blurred recordings is reduced. Press the Image Stabiliser button.
Using flash If the light is insufficient to taking a photo the integrated flash will provide the required extra light. You will select the following flash settings by pressing the Flash button repeatedly:
AUTO: The flash will be activated automatically if the recording conditions require additional lighting.
With pre-flash before the actual flash, to avoid red-eye. The camera will recognize the brightness of the subjects and will only flash if necessary. Permanent flash
‘Slow Sync’: The flash will be synchronized with a slow shutter time. Flash always off.
The flash only works in the single and auto-release mode. It cannot be used during photo sequences or for video recordings. The use of the battery is increased by the use of the flash. The flash will need longer to load, if the battery is almost empty.

Do not flash people and animals from a close position. Maintain at least 1 metre distance.
Zoom – enlarge or reduce in size The camera has an optical and a digital zoom. The optical zoom is reached by setting the lens; the digital zoom is activated through the Settings menu. Press the Zoom control in the – direction. The bar giving the
Zoom setting will appear. W / : The image will be zoomed out of (wide angle); you will capture a wider section. T / : The image will be zoomed into (telephoto); you will capture a smaller section.
The optical zoom will be used if the mark is in the left part of the bar.
If you press again, the digital zoom will be switched on automatically. You will be able to zoom in further in five stages. The digital zoom must have been switched on in the Settings menu for this!
The digital zoom is not available for video recordings.

The enlarged image section is enlarged by interpolation in the case of the digital zoom; the picture quality can suffer somewhat because of this.
Setting the Focussing mode You can define the type of focussing when you are recording a photo or a video, with this function. Press the Macro button repeatedly, until the symbol of the
required focussing mode is displayed below left in the LCD. Your camera offers four different focussing modes: Normal The focussing range begins at 40 cm in the case of normal focus. No symbol will be displayed if the camera has been set to the Normal mode.
Macro This mode is particularly suitable for close recordings. You will be able to capture details and to set the subject as sharp, even at a small distance, by means of a fixed focus in this mode. PF Multi-focus The camera will set every subject as sharp if multi-focus is active. INF Infinite The camera will focus on particularly distant subjects in the case of the Infinite setting.

Making video clips Push the Mode Selection switch

Press the button, if you want to pause the recording.
Press the button again, to continue the recording. Press the Release button again to end the recording. Note: The digital zoom is not available for recording video clips. No sound will be recorded while the Zoom button is pressed. The microphone is active and sound will be recorded with the video, during the video recording. The video recordings will be saved with sound as AVI files.

Recording audio clips The microphone is located on the front of the camera, on the left below the lens. Make sure that you do not touch the microphone during a recording. Select the Speech Recording entry under the ‘Recording mode’
setting in the ‘Recording menu’. Press the Release button to start the recording. The recording bar
will appear in the display. Press the Release button again to end the recording. Note: The speech recordings will be saved as WAV files.

Using the Functions menu The Functions menu enables the significant settings for a recording to be made quickly. The available functions for setting the camera will be shown on the left menu strip. The possible settings of the respective function will be shown in the lower bar. Press the Fn button to
open the menu. Select the function that you

for example the 14M resolution, with the or the button.

Resolution - photos The resolution significantly determines the quality of the photo. The higher the resolution, the more memory a photo needs. The highest resolutions are recommended above all for large prints (larger than DIN A4).

Exposure correction (EV) By correcting the exposure values (EV, exposure value) you can adjust pictures that are too dark or too light. You can set the value in nine steps between +2.0 EV and -2.0 EV. A bar diagram with 3 images to compare will appear on the display. For example, the image will show an exposure correction of – 0.3, the centre one will show the exposure correction actually selected and the right image will show an exposure correction of + 0.3. Use a positive value when light conditions are poor and a negative value in strong light. Do not use the exposure correction if the subject is in a very light or a very dark area or if you are using flash. Select the Automatic setting then.

White balance The white balance can correct certain light conditions.

ISO (Light sensitivity) This setting changes the light sensitivity in accordance with the brightness of the photo subject. A higher value will reduce the sharpness of the picture. A lower value will lead to clearer pictures in good light conditions.

Deleting photos You can delete photos in the Replay mode or through the Replay menu (see Page 69). You will delete a single recording most quickly with the Fn button in the Replay mode. Select the recording in the Replay mode and press the Fn button. The Delete query will appear on the display. Select the Delete
entry with the or the button. Press the SET button and confirm the answer.
Select the ‘Terminate’ entry and confirm again with SET, to interrupt the function.
The next recording will be shown on the display. Protected files cannot be deleted; the ‘File protected’ message will appear on the display in this case.
You will only be able to delete the files present on the memory card if one has been inserted. You will not be able to delete the files present on the memory card if the card is locked. A deleted file cannot be recreated. Proceed carefully when deleting files for this reason.

You will activate the red-eye correction in this way: Select the photo in the Replay mode. Open the ‘Red-eye correction’ sub-menu in the Replay menu. The image preview and the Red-eye menu will appear on the display. Select the Start entry and press the SET button to start the
correction. A selection menu will appear after the function has ended.

Connection to a TV or PC
Displaying recordings on a television device You can replay the recordings of the camera on a television device. Switch the camera and the television
device off. Connect the TV cable supplied with the
camera to the USB connection of the camera and the video input (yellow) and audio input (white) of the television device.
Switch the camera and the television device on.
Switch the camera to the Replay mode and start the required replay.
Switch on the video input on the television device (usually with the AV button), if the television device does not discern the camera image automatically.
You may have to choose between PAL and NTSC in the ‘TV output’ sub-menu in the ‘Settings’ camera menu.

Printing photos on a photoprinter You will be able to print your photos directly through a PictBridge-compatible photoprinter by means of PictBridge. Connect the printer and the camera with the USB cable supplied
with the camera. Switch the camera and the photoprinter
on. The camera will discern that a USB device has been connected. Change to the Printer mode by selecting
the ‘Printer’ option and confirm with SET.
Select the required photo and the require number of copies with the or the direction button. You will have the following possibilities: Single – Prints one photo All – Prints all photos Set back – Sets the setting back.

Transferring data to a Computer You will be able to transfer the recordings to a computer. Supported operating systems: Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7
Using the USB cable Switch the camera off. Connect the USB cable supplied with the camera to the USB
connection of the camera and a USB connection on the computer, when the computer is switched on.
Switch the camera on. Select ‘Computer’ and press the SET button
to confirm the selection. ‘Connect’ will appear in the camera display. The camera will be recognized by the computer as a mass storage device (replaceable medium). You will be able to access the content of the camera memory immediately under Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Open Windows Explorer or double-click on Workplace (under Vista: Computer under Vista) under other Windows versions.

Double-click on the Media symbol for the camera. Navigate to the ‘DCIM’ directory and to the directory contained in
it, if necessary, to display the files (*.jpg = photos; *.avi = sound recordings; *.wav = video recordings). Compare also the directory structure in the memory.
Now, pull the required file, with the left mouse button pressed down, to the directory on the PC intended for it, to the ‘My Own Files’ directory, for example. You can also highlight the files and use the ‘Copy’ and ‘Enter’ Windows commands.
The files are transferred to the computer and stored there. You can display and process the files with suitable application software.
DCF memory standard The recordings on your camera will be administered (saved, named, etc.) in accordance with the DCF standard (DCF = Design Rule for Camera File System). Recordings on the memory cards of other DCF cameras can be reproduced on your camera.

Card drive You will, of course, also be able to copy the recordings to the PC through a card drive, if the PC has such a drive or a card reading device has been connected and if you have saved the recordings on the memory card A card reader will also be recognized as a replaceable medium in the Windows Workplace (or in ‘Computer’ under Vista).

The directory structure in the memory The camera will save the photos, videos and audio files on the internal memory or the memory card in three different directories. The following directories will be set up automatically: DICAM.: All the photos, videos and audio files recorded will be saved in this directory. Files that have been recorded in the Auction or Internet Quality mode are exempted from this. _UTUBE: The videos recorded in the Internet Quality mode will be saved in this directory. Normal recordings will be located in the ‘100DICAM’ directory and identified automatically by ‘DSCI’ and a four-digit number. The next ‘101DICAM’, etc. directory will be set up for additional recordings when the highest ‘DSCI9999’ number is reached. A maximum of 999 directories can be set up. An error message will appear (‘Directory cannot be set up’) if an additional recording is made. Proceed as follows in this case: Insert a new memory card. Set back the file numbering in the ‘File

numbering’ entry in the ‘Settings’ menu. The file numbering will start again at 0001 in the DSCI1000 directory.
Do not attempt to change the directories and files in the directory structure of the camera (rename, etc.). You can destroy the files through this.
Installing the software ‘Media Impression’, a program for processing your photos, is on the CD supplied with the camera. Place the CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. The CD will usually be recognized and presented automatically. If
not, select the CD drive in Windows Explorer > Workplace and double-click on the drive letter, to open the CD.
You will see the contents of the CD on the starting page. Highlight the software and click on the INSTALL interface, to
install it. Follow the further instructions on the screen.

Check the following points if the camera does not function perfectly. Please contact the MEDION Service if the problem remains.
The camera will not switch on. The battery has been inserted incorrectly. The battery is empty. Charge it. The battery compartment flap is not completely closed.
The camera does not take any photos. The flash is still charging. The memory is full. The SD card is not correctly formatted or is defective. The maximum file number has been exceeded. Carry out a file
number reset. Not sufficient light. Change the camera angle, to take up more
light, or use the flash.
The flash does not trigger. The camera has been moved during the shot. The flash is switched off.
The picture is blurred. The camera has been moved during the shot.

The subject was outside the setting range of the camera. Use the Macro mode for close photos, if necessary.
The image is not shown on the display. An SD card that has accepted photos in a non-DCF mode on
another camera has been inserted. The camera cannot display such photos.
The period of time between shots is longer when taking pictures in the dark The shutter usually works slower under weak light conditions.
Change the angel of the camera, or improve the light conditions.
The camera switches itself off. The camera will switch itself off after a pre-set time, to save the
battery charge. Restart the camera.
The recording has not been saved. The camera has been switched off before the recording could be
saved.
Recordings on other memory cards are not displayed. The recordings on the memory cards of other cameras will be
displayed if the other camera also uses the DCF memory system.

When the camera is connected to the computer for the first time, no new hardware is found The USB connection of the computer is deactivated in the BIOS. Activate the port in the BIOS of the PC. Look this up in the

Maintenance and care
Clean the casing, the lens and the display as follows: Clean the camera casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use thinners or cleaning solutions that contain oil. This could damage the camera. Remove the dust first with a lens brush, to clean the lens or the display. Then clean them with a soft cloth. Do not press on the display or use any hard objects to clean it.
