Lawrence is a baker for Sobeys, a grocery chain in

Canada. He was helpful in giving us ideas of places to see.

Jake loved a good scratch.

We haven’t killed each other yet and so far neither has slept on the couch.

One of Charlottetown’s Rotary groups met on Thursday at 12:15. This was their annual Literacy Award Meeting.

Literacy is one of the focus issues for this Rotary Group. It seems that 40% of Adult Canadians do not have the literacy skills needed to reach their

goals. The man being honored is 63 years old and has now finished high school. He gave a very moving talk

about how he compensated for his inability to read. He was an amazing example of it is never to late. They also

partner with the March of Dimes in raising money for preventing birth defects among many other projects.

We hit the Jackpot as far as who was

there. The Premiere gave a speech honoring Rotary’s support in Literacy and how important it is. The

government gave this Rotary a donation for their program. What a concept! We sat at the table with the District

Governor. Wonderful People! (as usual)
