Greet students at the door. Welcome back to
Crew. Remember last week we talked about
norms and selected ____ norm as needing some
more attention. Choose a partner nearby and
share an example of how you worked on the norm
over the week. You will then introduce this
person and what they did to give attention to this
norm. You have 30 seconds.
Re-group and demonstrate introductions: This is
____, (Hello, ____), and she worked on the norm

leaning forward and nodding engaging by asking and

5 Minutes Debrief/Reflection:
Check-in on how the
session went, including
our collaboration,
individual work,
progress toward the
target or goal and ideas
for improving our next
session.
Lets look back at our learning target. Now we
know how SLANT connects to the norms. Explain
how SLANT and the norms help build a better
Crew community.Ex: respecting each other,
learning from each other, positive learning
environment, etc.
Were going to wrap-up with an activity called
whip around. Heres how it works: I want you to
come up with 3 words that describe how SLANT
and norms benefit our community. We will go
around the circle and share, and dont worry if
someone uses your answers, we can have
repeats. Facilitator selects starting point, studentselects direction.
3 Minutes Next Steps:
Teacher/student(s)
review important
upcoming events and
agenda items. Identify
next steps for Crew
(assign next crew
leader, if students aretaking turns).
Next week we will be discussing how
communication is important in building a strong
community. Arrange room as needed to prepare fo
class.
