Well recognised icons have been used to identify accessible parking spaces; toilets; steep gradients; access points for mobility equipment; flashing and audible crossings to assist you with finding accessible routes around the city.

Mobility scooter users should complete this ramble with ease; people using manual wheelchairs should reflect on the steep gradients involved and consider, if possible, using a mobility scooter to complete the ramble.
We tested, and developed this Ramble Route using a four wheel scooter, taking safety and comfort into account, and have outlined;
• Accessible parking within and adjacent to the Walls
• where to access equipment, • obstacles, such as steps, and access
points • places of historic interest en route.
Where is the best place to begin the Ramble route?
Use the Green Route to guide you onto and around the walls avoiding the steps; starting and ending at Shopmobility Foyle where you can pick up/drop off your mobility equipment.
The Yellow Route deviates from the main Route guiding you to many attractions within and beyond the historic walls.
The Red Route section running alongside magazine street is passable with great care using a 4 wheel scooter (Shopmobility members really have tested it!). We would advise you to proceed with extreme caution as there are very steep inclines/declines at this point and just beyond. If you are not a confident scooter user, exit this section via the ramp, onto Magazine Street, and follow the walls via the green and yellow routes to view the many attractions within and alongside the Walls.
