Meng-Meng Zhou Background: When contructing the Wehrbahn Line in Düsseldorf at the in- tersecting Heinrich-Heine-Allee Metro Station, the undertunneling of the Gal- leria Kaufhof on the Königsallee becomes the most challenging phase of the whole project. Under such special ground conditions, artificial ground freezing (AGF) is often applied during tunnel construction for excavation support and groundwater control. Task: Within this master thesis the following tasks are to be completed: -- Study on the existing THM coupled freezing soil model -- Data exploition for the case study of undertunneling on the Königsallee -- Establishment of the numerical simulation model -- Comparsion of the simulation results with the in-site measured data Contact: Dr.-Ing. A case study of ground freezing simulation for the Wehrhahn Line in Düsseldorf

Supervisor: Dr.-Ing. Meng-Meng Zhou

Background: When contructing the Wehrbahn Line in Düsseldorf at the in-tersecting Heinrich-Heine-Allee Metro Station, the undertunneling of the Gal-leria Kaufhof on the Königsallee becomes the most challenging phase of the whole project.
