A. Manufacturer
Total Piping Solutions, Inc. has provided a wide array of products for the water, waste water, industrial and natural gas industries since 2002. We are located at 1760 Haskell Road, Olean, New York 14760.
Total Piping Solutions (TPS hereafter) began by supplying the market with the Hymax Coupling product line, and quickly diversified into a manufacturer of stainless steel and carbon steel fittings and fabrications. There products included the Triple Tap Tapping Sleeve, The Triple Tap Line Stop Fitting, flange end fittings, mechanical joint end fittings, stainless steel repair clamps for the gas industry. We also product stainless steel service saddles and tapped stainless steel repair clamps.
Our facility consists of four buildings with an approximate square footage of over 40,000 square feet of combined manufacturing and warehouse space and additional 10,000 square feet of office space.
All equipment used in the manufacturing operation is CNC controlled, including various robotic welding, cutting and forming devices. All welders carry AWS (American Welding Society) certifications, and all products are built in compliance with industry standards including AWWA, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, MSS, NSF. All product engineering design guides, installation instructions and other pertinent documents carry an approval by a registered professional engineer in the State of New York.
B. Proposed Product
Proposed product submittal includes two products: Tapping Sleeves and Line Stop Fittings.
The Triple Tap Tapping Sleeve is a wide range bolt on the pipe device used for hot tapping a water or sewer main. Hot Tapping is “under pressure” drilling or cutting a hole in an existing pipe to create a branch or service connection. The water main remains in service and under full pressure. The coupon or drilled out section of the pipe is retained in the cutter and no
shutdown of service is required. The line remains clean and purge is not required.
Line Stopping employs the same process except end result includes a temporary stop of flow, and or installation of a bypass to circumvent a malfunctioning valve or damaged section of pipe requiring maintenance or replacement.

C. Product History
The Triple Tap Tapping Sleeve and Line Stop Fitting product line has been produced at the Olean, NY location for over five (5) years. Over 5000 sleeves have been produced at this location.
An inventory of over 1000 Tapping Sleeves and Line Stop fittings is available on the shelf for same day shipment of the product. Special configurations not held in inventory can typically be shipped within 48 hours of order placement.

D. Benefits
Product Benefits as follows:
• Range: Double the Range equates to a 40 to 70% potential in inventory reduction • Inventory: Inventory reduction equates to fewer dollars $$$ required to carry and
inventory the product. As example one high range (.9”range) Triple Tap Tapping Sleeve can replace (3) to (4) traditional design tapping sleeves. One 6”x6” Triple Tap tapping sleeve can accommodate pipes from 6.55” to 7.42” O.D. This means that this pipe can be installed on IPS (Class Pipe), Ductile Iron Pipe, Cast Iron Pipe, C900 PVC Pipe, Class 150 Asbestos Cement Pipe and HDPE pipe. Other makes require up to 4 or 5 shells to cover the same range. (2) sleeves do the job of (3 or 4) competitive makes.
• • All Pipe Materials: Triple Tap works on High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe out of
the box, requiring no special casketing or spring washer. It is a true universal product for all pipe materials in all diameters.
• Higher Pressure Rating: Product rated to the pressure rating of the AWWA Class “D” Flange
• Beam Break Protection: Product test to pass a full beam break test on size on size pipe – the benefit of this feature is that this stainless fabricated sleeves performs on size on size taps like a full body sleeve….it is designed to resist cross seal leakage in the event of a beam break of the pipe during the tapping process
• More Pipe Support and Gasket Contact: Manufacturing process eliminate weld
distortion and allows for great seal surface area on pipe supporting higher working pressure rating of the product than competitive makes
• Stronger Branch Attachment: Full butt weld to branch attachment provides over a 50% stronger branch connection than filet welded designs offered by competitors
• Triple Sealing Elements: Waffle Seal, Double “O-‐ring and Aperture Seal work in full combination to provide the highest working and test pressure product in the market.
• Heavy Duty Shell Construction: up to 20% Heavier gage shell materials on both top
and bottom shells enable better pipe reinforcement and less potential for a beam break on size on size and under size hot taps – All 4 to 8” diameters use 12 gauge top and bottom shells, and all 10 and 12” diameters use 11 gauge top and bottom shell construction. Branch pipes are either schedule 5 or schedule 10 materials (schedule 40 on Line Stop Fittings).
• Bolts, Nuts and Washer: 304 stainless bolts and washers, 316 stainless nuts – all double thick coated with fluorocarbon coating to prevent galling
