A Peek at Our Week… Mrs. Silvestri’s ELA Grades 6-8 Week of October 5, 2018 This Week in ELA Grades 6-8... Sixth Grade continued to work with our nonfiction text “Black Sunday” and practiced using Cornell Notes from a video. We analyzed poetry and listened to a read aloud. We also began our Wordly Wise Lesson 2 activities, practiced identifying singular and plural nouns, read our independent reading books, practiced penmanship, and responded to writing prompts. Next week, we will continue working with Wordly Wise Lesson 2 words by creating word webs. Tests will be Friday, October 12th. Seventh Grade continued to work with our nonfiction text “Blood, Smoke, and Freedom” and practiced using Cornell Notes from a video. We analyzed poetry and listened to a read aloud. We also began our Wordly Wise Lesson 2 activities, practiced identifying singular and plural nouns, read our independent reading books, practiced penmanship, and responded to writing prompts. Next week, we will continue working with Wordly Wise Lesson 2 words by creating word webs. Tests will be Friday, October 12th.
