exchange switch, the SECHTOR 300 TDM voice gateway provides a scalable, carrier-class

SECHTOR 300 provides universal voice compatibility regardless of the TDM access technology.

End-user access to the SECHTOR 300 voice gateway can originate from traditional analog

and digital telephone lines, or from TDM-based integrated access devices (IADs). Because

SECHTOR 300 supports all of today’s industry standards for signaling and management, it

can extend the voice capabilities of any existing edge TDM network.

ENHANCE TODAY’S VOICE NETWORKS

As an extension to a voice switch, SECHTOR 300 uses standard GR-303 signaling to concen-

trate voice traffic. It can dynamically assign up to 7000 individual calls or DS0s to a local

exchange digital switch on a call-by-call basis. Not only does this capability allow you to

leverage existing GR-303 signaling, but it also allows you to transparently offer full lifeline

and CLASS services to your subscribers.

SECHTOR 300 also integrates traditional 3/1/0 digital cross-connect functionality at the edge

of the network, thereby enhancing your existing voice network in three important ways. With

SECHTOR 300 in place, you can (1) consolidate traffic over high-speed digital interfaces, (2)

optimize your use of backhaul transports, and (3) reduce the port and administrative require-

ments on a switch.

Combine these capabilities with remote software configuration and centralized management

tools, and it’s easy to see why SECHTOR 300 is the optimal platform for any voice application.

Service providers save on facilities costs by aggregating voice traffic and grooming data for redirection to ISPs.

ESTABLISH A GATEWAY BETWEEN EDGE NETWORKS AND REMOTE LOCAL EXCHANGE SWITCHES

SECHTOR 300 allows you to establish scalable voice gateway services between edge TDM

networks and local exchange switches through its integral TDM backplane. The platform

allows for the concentration of any voice traffic from standard Plain Old Telephone Services

(POTS) trunks (FXS/FXO) and T1 or fractional T1 access trunks to high-speed, higher-density

DS3/STS-1 interfaces back to a local exchange switch. Aggregating this traffic using the

SECHTOR 300 saves on facilities costs and switch ports by using the over-subscription capa-

bilities inherent in the SECHTOR 300.

SIMPLIFIED MANAGEMENT, TEST, AND PERFORMANCE MONITORING

SECHTOR 300 is easy to configure and manage via TL1-based CLI, a GUI-based management

system, or remotely through a comprehensive set of SNMP MIBS. Support for GR-818/GR-834

enables interworking with industry-standard 3rd-party test controllers for comprehensive

test and performance monitoring.
