The SICAM microRTU belongsto the family of SICAM devicesnotable for their combination ofprogrammable controller andtelecontrol unit.

The SICAM microRTU is atelecontrol unit based onSIMATIC S7-200 and can be usedoptimally for small volumes of in-formation.Up to 64 data points can be proc-essed with the SICAMmicroRTU.

The SICAM microRTU can beused for general telecontrol tasksin public and industrial powersupply systems such as forconditioning and transmission ofindications, measured values, metered values and furthermorefor the output of pulse andpersistent commands.

Make use of the advantages

offered by the

SICAM microRTU:

Attractively priced

Useable for the automation ofgas and hydro-electric stationsas well as for the monitoringand control of electrical energysupply systems

Minimum space requirementsby virtue of compact design

Simplified installation thanksto the snap-on design ontostandard mounting rail andconnections with screw-typecontacts

Speedy commissioning bypractical pre-assigned parame-ters

Maintenance-free, no calibra-tion or adjustment required

Stocking of spare parts is keptto a minimum as the same unitcan be used for gas/water andenergy areas

Self-configuring to as large anextent as possible by the auto-matic updating of the hardwareconfiguration

Easily adaptable to control cen-ters due to the internationallystandardized IEC 60870-5-101telecontrol protocol.

Scope of performance

 Scope of performance 1

The SICAM microRTU sup-ports the input/output func-tions listed in the tableopposite:

 Scope of performance 2

The processing functions

 Indications

− Input filter

The first 16 digital inputs canbe filtered: Range 0.2 ms to12.8 ms adjustable withSTEP 7 Micro / Win.

− Acquisition

The first 16 inputs are ac-quired in the 10 ms scan andstored in the messagebuffer in the correct sort or-der.

− Transmission

The transmission is imple-mented spontaneously or ondemand, using theTK1 / TK3 message type.

 Metered values

− Acquisition

Up to 4 metered values for amaximum metering fre-quency of 20 Hz.

− Restoring

The metered values can berelocated and transmittedvia an internal timer orTK101 metered-value inter-rogation command. It can beparameterized whether ornot the metered valueshould be deleted afterrestoring.

− Metered value

A 31 bit metered valuebuffer is available for eachmetered value.

 Measured values

− Monitoring of the analogmodules

Cyclic and/or on-demandtransmission using the TK9message type. Module dis-turbances affect the NT (nottopical) status of the mea-sured values messages.

 Commands

− Outputs

Impulse (1 out of n-monitor-ing) or continuous output.Command messages of thetype TK45 / TK46 are ex-pected for this purpose. De-pending on the qualifiers 0,1 and 2, it is possible toparameterize three com-mand output times. Continu-ous commands are possiblewith qualifier 3 (only TK 45).

 Maximum expansion

Optionally, a total of up to 32digital inputs and 32 digitaloutputs can be processedby application of expansionmodules.

 Scope of performance 3

The SICAM microRTU is ca-pable of implementing theIEC 60870-5-101 telecontrolprotocol in unbalancedmode.

The SICAM microRTUsupports the following func-tions:

 Process information inthe monitoring direction

− TK1: single-point indicationwithout time, quality identi-fications not supported

− TK 3: Double-point indica-tion without time, qualityidentifications not sup-ported

− TK 9: Measured value, nor-malized value without time, quality identifications: “nottopical for module distur-bances”.

− TK 15: Metered value with-out time, quality identifica-tion: CA-”counter adjus-ted”. After restoring, themetered value is deletedand then the CA bit will beset.

 Process information inthe control direction

− TK 45: single command

− TK 46: double command

 System information inmonitoring direction

− TK 70: initialization end

 System information incontrol direction

− TK 100: general interroga-tion command

− TK 101: metered value in-terrogation command

− TK 103: time synchroniza-tion.

 Scope of performance 4

 Operating mode control

This comprises:− A high-priority message

buffer list for organizationalinformation (start indica-tion, acknowledgements)

− A message buffer list forprocess information (bufferdepth >200 changes of in-dications)

− Interrogation list group 0(general interrogation) forindications and parame-terizable for metered andmeasured values

− Interrogation list group 1for measured values

− Metered value interroga-tion listEach of the interrogationlists is acknowledged follow-ing activation; the content istransferred via the messagebuffer, and finally an ac-knowledgement message issent.

 Parameters

They are stored in the DB1data block and loaded intothe SIMATIC CPU by thePC in such a fashion thatno power failure can occur.

 Modem

A V.23 modem is availablefor the SICAM microRTU inaccordance with the de-sign and the price of theunit. Possible modems aree.g. Induline IL2K4 or MD2.In the control center, it isalso possible, for example,to use an MD 100 modem.

The electrical level of thecommunications interfaceon the S7-224/226 CPU isRS485. The Induline IL2K4and MD2 modem already in-corporates the RS485 inter-face.

 Diagnosis,trouble-shooting

LED displaysIn addition to the LEDs onthe CPU and the expansionmodules (see SIMATICmanual), two digital outputsare used as follows:

− RTS, message transmis-sion LEDThe output Q1.0 has amessage transmissioncontrol function.

− EK, message receive LEDThe output Q1.1 has amessage receive controlfunction. When the func-tion is being applied, 2command outputs can notbe parameterized. This function should onlybe used with electronicoutputs.

Buffer overflowReaction of overflow of theinternal buffers for the indi-cation acquisition.

− Reset of the SICAMmicroRTU

− TK1 error message tocontrol centerNote: metered valueprocessing remains unaf-fected

 Module disturbancesAnalog input:

− Failure of external auxiliarysupply

− Module fails (configurationerror)Response:

− “NT bit” is set (not topical),measured value remainsunchanged

 Commissioning (Fig. 4)

AuxiliariesTogether with the requiredhardware such as S7-200components and modem, the following items are re-quired for the commission-ing of SICAM microRTU.

− Runtime software on dis-kette

− STEP 7-Micro/WIN as ofversion V2.1

− PC/PPI cable− PC or PG.

Runtime softwareIt is possible to obtain an in-dividual license for this soft-ware. The software mayonly be loaded once onto aCPU. Each diskette is allo-cated its own registrationnumber which can be readfrom the CPU. In the eventof a malfunction, this num-ber is used to identify thesoftware.

ParameterizingThe parameters in the DB1data block can be changedusing STEP 7-Micro/WIN.The parameters, their pur-pose and the default set-tings are contained in theSICAM microRTU manual.

 Supply configurations

The SICAM microRTU canbe supplied in the followingversions:

SICAM microRTUproductThe SICAM microRTU issupplied in individual parts, for example consisting ofCPU, expansion modules, modem and a diskette con-taining the runtime software(SICAM RTC for microRTU).

SICAM microRTUsystemThe SICAM microRTU issupplied as a completedevice, consisting ofa housing with the CPU,a modem, terminals and adiskette containing theruntime software (SICAMRTC for microRTU).Optionally: expansionmodule and buffer unit, installation and testing.
