Saving our health plan clients $8PMPM.A randomized, prospective clinical trial proving the effectiveness of ActiveHealth’s patented CareEngine® System was recently conducted. The study scanned approximately 40,000 members of a Midwestern plan’s population. The findings, published in The American Journal of Managed Care, showed that ActiveHealth found:

• 46 potentially serious medical errors throughout every 1,000 members, nearly 1 per 20 people.

• 8.4% fewer hospitalizations.

• Paid claims were $8.07 PMPM lower across the entire population compared to a control group.

The CareEngine is constantly at work compiling patient data from a variety of sources and analyzes this information against up-to-date evidence-based standards. By doing so, the

CareEngine can isolate individual patient issues related to a continuously updated, comprehensive set of clinical conditions. Once a patient issue is identified, the CareEngine generates

its solution in something we call a Care Consideration. They usually suggest the addition of a treatment, the stopping of a treatment, or suggest a procedure that hadn’t been conducted.

The Development Center is also where our doctors scan evidence-based sources, including FDA guidelines, peer-reviewed journal findings and medical society practice guidelines.
