smashing high school records and soaring at Sectional Finals.
Both the boys and girls teams were seeded second in the
North Jersey, Section 1 Public A tournament and advanced

berly Schmidt.
The Girls team excelled, pulling in a 9-2 record. Boys also

Ethnic Segregation Conference
On February 15th during period 1, Charlie Ap-pel's Human Geography students collaborated with students from Josh Saladino's Contempo-rary Issues class to discuss the issue of current ethnic segregation in the United States. These students then turned around and led group dis-cussions for sixteen participating classes during periods 2 and 3. During these later two collabo-rative periods, group leaders shared a Google Presentation which addressed the catalysts of segregation and then the participating classes discussed possible solutions for dealing with the problem. Each of the fourteen groups then col-laborated on a final closure document in which they selected a best possible solution to the is-sue of ethnic segregation and came up with ra-tionale to defend their position. The morning's activity is just one example of the interdisciplinary work the Social Studies and English departments have been focused on this year.

France with his siblings, where he became a courier
for the French Resistance. Both of his parents were
murdered by the Nazis.
