Unlike most companies, we invented our space. That allows us the freedom to operate with limited competition and proprietary technology while maximizing our profitability.

FiltaFry, the service we invented to help commercial kitchens more than 20 years ago is still at the core of our offering, but we’ve added several additional environmentally friendly services to complement FiltaFry and drive additional revenue streams for our Franchise Owners. And while most of our new operators start with a single van, they can grow into multiple van operations as they add customers and services.

Filta is a business that can be started and run from a home office. The only real estate required is a small storage facility to temporarily store minimal supplies and used cooking oil prior to collector pick up. That keeps overhead low, allowing you to invest more into serving additional customers by putting additional vans on the road.

By simply adding 5 new accounts per month, each van fills quickly with repeat business and a few new customers.

Weekly Repeat Business One of the great things about the FiltaFry service is its weekly repeat business. That means that every new customer you service adds to the ones you already have.

What is a Customer Worth? Take an example of a customer paying $150 per week for the FiltaFry service. Over the first year, that customer is worth $7,500; over the first five years of the business $37,500.

If that customer starts using FiltaDrain and FiltaCool Services, that customer could be worth over $50,000 to you in just the first five years. Add to that the products and services that Filta may introduce, and you start to see the value of repeat business and the overall value of a loyal and quality customer base.

Growing Your Business A Filta van can provide the FiltaFry service to 15-25 customers (depending upon size and how many times each customer is serviced per week). In time, the FiltaCool & FiltaDrain services should then be introduced to these same customers (vertical expansion).

Each Filta Franchise Owner should aim to add 4-5 new customers per month (horizontal expansion). If this is achieved, a van can be filled appropriately every six months. One more great result of weekly repeat business.

TRAininG

Should you have some industry involvement, that will give you a bit of a head start, but it is not a requirement. In fact, most people that join Filta do not have prior restaurant experience. Our training programs are designed to first make you comfortable with the commercial kitchen environment and then provide you with the real-world skills you need to be successful offering Filta services. We also train on what to do when things don’t go quite the way you expect.

Our training is paced over an approximate 30 day period, but there is some flexibility to the program to accommodate your schedule. We understand you may be transitioning from your current career, the military or a previous business and need some flexibility. Once your training is complete, you will be supported by the entire Filta team and have access to all of our World Class Franchise Support Programs.

Phase 1: Online Pre-Training (Approximately 3 hours)

You’re brand new to Filta and you’re ready for an introduction to get your feet on the ground and to start your journey. Each new Franchise Owner is enrolled in an online course in our e-learning platform – Filta University.

You can complete this course from the comfort of your home or office on your own time frame. This introductory course helps give you some basic knowledge and confidence and, while the course only takes a few hours to complete, it is a great primer for the rest of your training.

Phase 2: Classroom Training (5 Days)

Classroom training takes place in our dedicated training center in Orlando, FL. Numerous subject matter experts will guide you through each and every aspect of the Filta business including sales, marketing, business planning, operations and administration. Typically, you will arrive on Sunday and then spend the week with us. We try to keep the material fresh and present it in a method appropriate to all learning profiles.

Phase 3: Field Training (5 Days)

After the completion of classroom training, it’s time to get hands on. You will spend time learning to set up your shop and work on a live route servicing Filta customers. Everything you learned in classroom training will now be put into practice with real-world experiences designed to make you feel comfortable and ready to open your business.

Phase 4: In-Territory Training (10 Days*)

Once you are ready to start your business, Filta will be with you every step of the way. Filta will send an experienced Business Development Manager to your area to help you transition any current customers, train you in the Filta sales method, and work with you to make sales calls and book site evaluations. You are now open for business and part of the Filta community.

* Purchasers of existing Filta Businesses receive a minimum of 3 days of In-Territory Training.
