Chevra Hatzalah is the largest all-vol- unteer ambulance service in the Unit- ed States, providing premium quality pre-hospital emergency medical treat- ment and transportation at no cost, to all who need it, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. The purpose of these meetings was both to develop a close working relation- ship with members of the State legisla- ture and brief them regarding the scope of Hatzalah’s reach into the communities that they represent, and to provide an opportunity to acquire a deeper under- standing of any future issues that may arise. Private meetings were held with: Sen- ator Marisol Alcantara of Manhattan who represents the neighborhoods of Chelsea, Clinton, Upper West Side, Inwood, Har- lem, and Washington Heights; Ms. Susan Grelick, counsel and legislative director to NYS Senate Minority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and NYS Senate Majority Leader John J. Flanagan; Senators Sim- cha Felder, Martin Golden, Andrew Lanza, Elaine Phillips and Mr. Avi Fertig, special assistant to the Majority Leader. A very productive Meet-and-Greet was hosted by Assemblymember Helene Weinstein, who chairs the powerful Ways and Means Committee and was attend- ed by: Assemblymembers Bobby Carroll, Steven Cymbrowitz, Harvey Epstein, Dov Hikind, Charles D. Lavine, Stacey Phef- fer Amato, Daniel Rosenthal, Nily Rozic, Latrice Walker, Helene E. Weinstein, David Weprin and NYS Senator Leroy Comrie. “On behalf of my colleagues Zelig Gitelis, Issac Unger, Yomtov Malik, Abe Wurzberger, I want to express our sincere appreciation for the productive conversa- tions that took place up in Albany. Every- one understands the vital and humanitar- ian role of every Hatzalah volunteer; we therefore look forward to close collabo- rative relationships with our government officials so that we can enhance the effec- tiveness of our service to every New York- er who avails themselves of Hatzalah’s emergency services should the need arise,” said Mr. Isaac Stern, an executive board member of Chevrah Hatzalah. Taking place at Touro College’s Land- er College for Women, the conference will begin at 9 a.m. and will feature a full panel of experts throughout the daylong program which will include multiple key- note addresses given by Dr. Owen Davis, Dr. Dan Goldschlag, Dr. Lawrence Grun- feld and Dr. Brian Levine. With three sets of concurrent break- away workshops on well over a dozen topics, the conference will give couples struggling with having children the ability to learn about the latest developments in the world of medicine that are most relevant to them and provide a golden opportunity to speak directly with the renowned medical experts who will be presenting at the conference. “Our doctors are always extremely generous with their knowledge and their time,” said Mrs. Vivienne Moskowitz, A TIME’s medical consultant and director of the Shabbos Near the Hospital pro- gram. “Being able to speak directly to these prominent doctors has saved cou- ples thousands of dollars and has helped more than a few shorten their journey to parenthood, which is the most important goal for us.” Held every second or third year, A TIME’s conferences are just one of the many ways that the organization serves the thousands of couples who turn to them for help, explained Rabbi Mordechai Koenig, director of medical affairs and hashgachah. “Aside from the many doctors who will be joining us, we will also be having nutri- tionists, alternative medicine, acupunc- turists and physiologists addressing other aspects of infertility,” said Rabbi Koenig. “It is very comprehensive and a massive, professional event that has enabled us to help so many people in the past.” The first organization dedicated to addressing childless couples in the Jew- ish community, A TIME is known for its unparalleled caring and has offices throughout the United States, Europe and Israel, servicing members from all over the world. A series of important meetings between Chevrah Hatzalah and NYS State officials were held in Albany.

Chevra Hatzalah is the largest all-vol-unteer ambulance service in the Unit-ed States, providing premium quality pre-hospital emergency medical treat-ment and transportation at no cost, to all who need it, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
