As a last resort the Museum has been forced to charge an admission fee of fifty cents from 13 to 6 o'clock, and to open the galleries free of charge in the evening from 8 to 10 on every day of the week* Saturday and Sunday excepted* the Galleries will remain open taring the morning from 10 to 12, all day ^atmrday, and Sunday afternoon admission free, the money aeomtng from the admission charge will be turned bade Into the Monona funds for npkrsp and purchase of pictures. Charging admission In the afternoons Is of course a temporary solution of an urgent problem but Is a vivid illustration of tho need for adequate pssmenent headquarters for the isuaeum # for It Is evident that the present attendance Is the result of no merely casual excitement, the Museum has now been running four months and the attendance during the last four weeks has been oonsidembly higher Van during the first four wastes* M
