#HumansOfCov Artist Commission Expression of Interest Introduction The Coventry City of Culture Trust has launched a search for artists to respond to its #HumansOfCov campaign, the Trust’s first major campaign since winning the title of UK City of Culture 2021. #HumansOfCov responds to the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year-long campaign throws a spotlight onto the human rights of people across the city and beyond. Working with communities and a range of artists it will highlight the everyday heroes in Coventry’s communities and the grassroots activism of the city, as well as opening a conversation about human rights and what they mean for a modern and diverse city in the 21 st Century. Coventry City of Culture Trust are asking for Expressions of Interest before commissioning 30 short written/verbal pieces which explore the subject #HumansOfCov in relation to one of the 30 articles in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. These final pieces will then be shared on social media platforms.
