A.1. Design Futuring Precedent 1, Cross Wind Bridge (http://www.tiagobarros.eu/) For my first precedent, I have chosen the Cross Wind Bridge by Tiago Barros and Jorge Pereira. This project utilises the forces created by the movement of air by the surroundings and converting them into energy. To achieve the conversion, a network of 2188 rotating panels are used. As cars move past at the bridge below, the air currents they make light up the bridge. The project expands future possibilities in architecture by

demonstrating the ability of a platform where the architecture can react instantaneously with input received from the surroundings. This bridge consists of a pedestrian walkway as well as a cycling route which provides access from both sides of a busy highway. In my opinion this project gets people thinking about innovative techniques in illumination systems using technology in renewable energy.

Precedent 2, Forever Bicycles For my second precedent, I have chosen Bicycles Forever by Ai Weiwei. The repetition of the bicycle form is done to create an evocative piece of art work. The artwork gives a sense of blurriness and indistinguishable form. The repetition if the basic form of the bicycle also gives a sense of temporal quality to the sculpture.
