especially important in copyright legislation.
An author of a work generally is the initial owner of
the copyright on the work.

Refer to a footnote or endnote that cites the source
An inline parenthetical reference, e.g. [Phonphoem 2009]
Limited information such as the author's last name
year of publication
a full identification of the source appears in an appended bibliography

PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION
Papers should neither have been published elsewhere nor currently under review by another conference or journal. All papers for IEEE SECON 2010 must be submitted electronically via the EDAS system: http://edas.info/. Papers must be no longer than 9 pages and in font size no smaller than 10 points. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceeding published by IEEE.

A peer-reviewed periodical
Relate to a particular academic discipline
Serve as forums for
Introduction/presentation of new research
Critique of existing research
Typical Content
Original research articles
Review articles
Book reviews
Accept/Reject by Editor(s)
Acceptance rate (≈30-40 % for regular, 8-25 % for tough J.)
Not peer-reviewed Academic or professional publications are
called ”professional magazines”
28 June 2010 Anan Phonphoem, Dept.of Computer Engineering, Kasetsart University 14
Peer-review process
Much more tough than a conference paper
Critical to establishing a reliable body of research and
knowledge
Reviewers are expert in the fields
Editor(s)
Make decision based on the reviewers' opinions
Return to author(s) for revision
Or reject
Even accepted articles are subjected to further (sometimes
considerable) editing by journal editorial staff before they
appear in print
The whole process takes 6 months – 2 year (or more)
Then an accepted article will be queued for publication
