A reaction to an allergen… A person can be triggered by an

allergen through touch, inhaling, or eating.

When triggered by an allergen, the immune system creates antibodies.

Have your child's doctor provide clear instructions on how to treat an allergic reaction through a Food Allergy Action Plan(FAAP)

The FAAP will provide your child’s school with information to quickly evaluate and treat an allergic reaction.

In absence of your presence teach all those who care for your child the correct way to use an epinephrine auto-injector.

When evaluating for a food allergy, an allergist determines a number a factors including:

A detailed history, prick skin test, and test for foods that a patient has never knowingly eaten or is eating without obvious problems.

If a person receives a negative test it is a reassurance that the food can be digested safely.

A positive prick skin test to egg or milk simply indicates that a person has LgE antibodies to milk or egg. A patient is sensitized to milk or eggs.
