Welcome to Abbey College Cambridge
I am often asked how our students achieve such amazing exam results and go on to join the UK’s best universities.
Our college is a family, brought together by a shared love of learning and a burning desire to achieve.
We take pride in being different from the rest. After all, how can you achieve the exceptional if you follow the most familiar path?
Your experience begins as soon as you are accepted to study with us. Every day that you are here we will challenge you to achieve your absolute best.
DR JULIAN DAVIES, PRINCIPAL
At every stage you will be supported by our outstanding staff, who place your success as their highest priority.
You will be joining a family that stretches out from Cambridge across the world. It is a family that you will remain part of for the rest of your life.
Results and destinations are just a part of our story. Our business is creating leaders, visionary scientists and mathematicians, and the next generation of successful entrepreneurs.
Our legacy is the impact that our students will go on to make in the world.
If you share our vision, read on.

Our Vision for Excellence
‘We are a community energised by the love of learning and the pursuit of outstanding achievement for all.’
Every one of our students takes responsibility for their learning by attending every lesson, participating in class and collaborating with each other.
We understand that resilience and focus are needed to gain top examination grades. We continually assess our students’ progress, helping them take confidence in their strengths and work harder to improve their weaknesses.
Our students achieve a healthy balance of study and social time. They engage with the college on all levels; from lessons to clubs, sports and activities.
‘‘Over half of our students join members of the ‘Russell Group’
of elite UK universities.’’
Our students all have one ambition in common, to study at one of the world’s best universities.
They take every opportunity to learn beyond the curriculum, taking full advantage of the opportunities and support we provide.
They explore the culture and diversity that Cambridge has to offer. Attending lectures, visiting museums, galleries and the theatre.
United by the English language, they make friends from different cultures and achieve outstanding results together.

Study in Cambridge
Cambridge is a fusion of the everyday and the extraordinary, a place that has shaped our history and continues to make its mark on our future.
For over 800 years, the city has been home to the renowned University of Cambridge; it is consistently voted as one of the world’s best.
We are privileged to have close links with the university, and can offer our students access to its institutes, departments and colleges.
In the past we have organised scientific internships at university laboratories and meetings with admissions tutors.
Cambridge is quiet, safe and very beautiful. There is an enormous range of cultural, sporting, leisure and entertainment opportunities within the city and the surrounding countryside.
It is a hub for cutting edge research and development. Technology start-ups, entrepreneurs, and established global giants such as Apple, Microsoft, ARM and Hewlett Packard all have bases here.
Central London is 45 minutes away by train. The nearest international airport is just 30 minutes by train or car. European capitals such as Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels can also be accessed from the city centre.

An Inspiring Campus
‘‘Our campus has been designed to perfectly fit the learning needs of our students.’’
An outstanding college needs an outstanding campus.
A place to inspire and nurture success, to socialise and live in comfort. A place that feels like home.
Features of our Cambridge campus include:• 120 ensuite boarding bedrooms
on-site, and a further 130 rooms within a 5 minute walk
• 12 state-of-the-art science laboratories
• 42 classrooms equipped with the latest teaching technology
• Library, 2 dedicated music studios and a brand new art facility
• Restaurant serving all student meals

In 2014 the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted), the government run body that inspects UK schools, awarded Abbey College Cambridge its very highest status of ‘Outstanding’ in all seven categories of assessment.
To be awarded the status of ‘Outstanding’ in all categories is an incredibly rare achievement for any UK school. It reflects the incredibly high standards of teaching and care which we deliver for all of our students.
Cambridge’s ‘Outstanding’ International College
‘‘We specialise in teaching students who do not speak
English as a first language.’’
Here is what Ofsted had to say about us;
For ‘Students’ Achievement’. ‘Students achieve excellent results in external examinations. Students make exceptional progress in a range of Mathematical and Science subjects.’
For ‘Students’ Behaviour and Personal Development’.‘Students demonstrate exemplary attitudes to learning and engagement in lessons.’
For ‘Quality of Teaching’. ‘The quality of teaching is outstanding and never less than good.’
For ‘Students’ Welfare, Health and Safety’.‘The provision for the welfare, health and safety of students is outstanding and all the regulatory requirements are met. The needs of students of compulsory school age are extremely well met.’

TUAN DUONG NGUYEN VIETNAM

After achieving one A*, two A and one B grade in his A levels, Tuan Duong is now studying Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
’Conclusion’. ‘Having been rated as delivering an ‘outstanding quality of education’ in the previous Ofsted inspection, Abbey College Cambridge yet again demonstrates the continuity of excellence that is the distinguishing feature of the school.’
