2014 DOD Intern Examples
Conservation Corps• All teams are SCA lead• Team size: 1 leader, 3-6 members (leaders 21+, members 18+)• Project report prepared upon completion of program• Intensive 2-week training for leaders, teams built for your project needs
Corps Teams – >8 weeks, projects ranging from prescribed burns to trail building and invasive species removal to biological surveys
Leader Teams – shoulder season, 2-8 weeks, for jobs that require highly skilled labor
Hitch Teams – 10 weeks minimum, 2 weeks minimum at each site
Vet Fire Corps – fuels reduction, fire effects monitoring, prescribedburns, educational outreach; Post-911 US Military Veteran withhonorable or general discharge
Agreements
Navy – agreement until 2018, working on agreement modifications to strengthen current agreement and expand partnership opportunities
USACE – expired, new agreement waiting to be signed• In the meantime, able to enter into Individual Agreements
Marines/Air Force – working under Navy agreement
