One Day Workshop on Disaster Mitigation and Management Strategies was held on 04th Novem-ber 2015 at COER. Dr. P.K Garg, Honourable VC, UTU, Dehradun and Brig. (Dr.) B.K.Khanna, Sr. Consultant, NDMA, New Delhi were the chief guests. The first Techni-cal Session started with the topic “Disaster and its Impact”. In this ses-sion the speakers were Major General A.K. Chaturvedi, Director General COER followed by Brig. (Dr.) B.K. Khanna, Senior Consult-ant, NDMA, New Delhi. The second Technical Session was held on the topic “Earthquake and Flood Disaster”. The speakers were Dr. Yo-gender Singh, Professor Earthquake Engineering,

IIT Roorkee and Dr. Sushil Kumar, Scientist, Wadia Insti-tute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun. The Technical

Session 3 was on “Govt Preparedness towards Disaster Mitigation”. The speakers for this session was Dr. Arun Saraf, Professor Department of Earth Science, IIT,Roorkee and Mrs. Nina Khanna, Disaster Manage-ment Faculty, New Delhi. an Open Session was held which was chaired by Dr. V. K Jain, Director COER SM along with Anil Upadhay of COER . Around 560 partici-pants registered for the workshop.

National Case Writing Workshop was organized at COER School of Man-agement, Roorkee spon-sored by Association of Indian Management School, Hyderabad. It was a three day Workshop spanning from17th Dec to 19th Dec, 2015. The participant’s got the op-portunity to sharpen their writing skills while developing their cases.

The Case Workshop started with the Inauguration by Chief Guest Dr. Vinay Sharma and Dr. V. K. Jain. Thirty two participants enrolled for this. Dr. V.K. Jain, Director COER SM, has delivered an infor-mative and interactive ses-sion on Case writing. Total nine cases were developed from nine teams in different areas. Dr. Himadri Phukan and Dr. Karuna Jain were the coordinators of the Work-shop.

Dr. V.K. Jain (Director, COER-SM) attended UTU RDC as an expert mem-ber of RDC panel on Oct. 29, 2015.

Institute organized a Round The Table Discussion on dif-ferent academic matters with the experts of HNB Garhwal university , on Oct. 3, 2015.

* A special guest lec-ture was organized by COER SM on “Society & Profes-sionals” on Dec.1, 2015. Prof. S.P. Kala , a well known management academician, was the key speaker. Dr. Parikshit Kala coordinated this lecture. Dr. V.K. Jain, Mr. K.R.

Know Your Nation Keeping in view the academic expansion COER-School of Management is proud to conduct a Dis-trict Level Quiz competition on the topic “Know your Nation”. The purpose is to motivate and en-courage more and more students to know about their nation in all aspects, as we should proud to be an Indian. Till now about 1300 students appeared in this. Dr. Ravindra Saini and Mr. Ranit Kishore are coordinat-ing this activity.

* A workshop was organized by TECHNOCRAT Club from Oct 12-17, 2015 on PHP. Mr. Sahil Chaddha, Trainer, Du-ciat (NOIDA) was the expert resource person. Ms. Kanika Sharma coordinated this event. * A workshop on J Gate was organized by the club on “How to access E -Journals” on Oct 28, 2015. Mr. Jaipal Singh is the resource person and Dr. B.S. Yadav was the coordinator of this activity.

* Daksh – HR Club organized a Guest Lecture on “Attitude and Team Working” on Oct. 3,2015.Mrs. Garima (Shekhar Corp. serv.) was the guest speaker. Mr. K.R. Ansari was coordinated this.

* Kuber - Finance Club or-ganized a Guest Lecture on “Economic Reform and In-dian Securities Market” on Oct. 3, 2015. Mr. K. Suku-marn, Dean NISM, Mumbai was the Key speaker. Mrs. Sweta Gaur Sharma coordi-nated this activity.

* Kuber Club organized a Guest lecture on “Goods & Services Tax: Its implica-tions on Indian Economy” on Dec. 26, 2015. Dr. K.N. Bhatt, (Allahabad Central University) was the main speaker. Mrs. Sweta Gaur Sharma was the coordinator.
