V, Reg. 26 must be carried out.Depending of the pilot boarding time, the O.O.W. should make all checks and tests according to check lists no. 4 andprepare 'Shore to Ship' / 'Ship to Shore' / 'Pilot Card' and 'Steering' information cards.Tidal Streams: During High Water tidal streams at the entrance to Vridi Canal can reach 6 kts. Vessels may only enter or leave when streams are under 2 kts.DENSITY: Varies from 1025 in January to 1000 in November.

Light 2.5 secs occ. 0.5 secs period 3 secs vis. 17 nautical miles.The red light sector covers the breakwater as well as the old Lome Wharf in position Lat. 06° 07' N, Long. 001°13.5' E.Lome Port Entrance: On the head of the main breakwater a red tower is situated in position Lat. 06° 08' N, Long. 001°17.5' E. . On the head of the counter-breakwater a green tower is situated in position Lat. 06°08.2' N, Long. 001°17.4' E.Tidal range: 0.90 – 1.50 m.Nature of bottom: sandRestrictions: berthing and unberthing at any stage of the tide; berthing during daylight hours only, unberthing anytime.Pilots are compulsory for all ships of more than 300 g.r.t.ANCHORAGES: Vessels waiting for Pilot or berth should anchor approximately 0.5 – 1.0 nautical miles south to SSW of the main breakwater, red sector of Baguida light in 15m, where good holding ground (sand) is obtained.
