1 TimoThy 2:1 Therefore, i beg of you ThaT before all Things, you will offer suppli-caTions To god, prayers, inTercessions and Thanksgiving, for The sake of all people,

He Will Complete It

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “And David said to his son Solomon, ‘Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed,

for the LORD God — my God — will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have

finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD’ ”

(1 Chronicles 28:20, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Is there something you’ve been believing for, something you’ve been hoping for that’s taking longer than you expected? You might be tempted to just accept things the way they are. You might be tempted to think it’s

never going to happen. If that’s you today, be encour-aged because God is a finisher! He will complete what

He’s started in you!

Your part is to believe. Your part is to keep your eyes on Him. When you believe, you have the Creator of the universe fighting your battles, arranging things in your favor, going before you, moving the wrong people out of the way. Don’t be intimidated by the size of a problem or the size of your dream! Don’t let circumstances con-vince you to stop believing. “Jehovah Jireh, the Lord

our Provider, is still on the throne. One touch of God’s favor and you’ll go from barely getting by to having more than enough! Begin to thank Him and declare

that God is at work. Declare that He is perfecting what concerns you. Declare that He will complete everything

He’s started in your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY Father God, I thank You for completing every good work that You have started in my life. I choose to

believe Your Word, even when things look impossible. I choose to believe that You are working behind the scenes and that You will bring victory and break-

through to every area of my life in Jesus’ name! Amen.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“In the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his taber-

nacle and set me high upon a rock” (Psalm 27:5, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Have you ever watched children play hide and seek? They look for the best place to hide in the

house or yard and wait quietly for their friend to try to find them. It’s a fun game for kids, but even as adults, we need a good place to hide from time to time. Sometimes we need a place of refuge, we need a place of safety, and we need a place to rest when we feel overwhelmed by the circumstances of life — a place where the enemy of our soul can

never find us.

The good news is that God has the perfect hiding place for you! You don’t have to hide in your job. You don’t have to hide in relationships. You don’t

have to hide in food or addictions because God Himself promises to hide you! He freely offers you

shelter from the storms of life any time you call upon His name.

Remember, there’s only one place the enemy can-not find you. There’s only one place where opposi-tion cannot steal from you. There’s only one true place of safety and rest for your soul, and that is

in the arms of Jesus. Know that He loves you, and He is ready to receive you when you call upon His

name!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY Father, today I come humbly before You giving

You all that I am. Thank You for hiding me in Your shelter and keeping me safe from the storms of life. My soul finds rest in You as I seek You and praise

Your holy name in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wingsPsalm 31:20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men; in

your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues.Psalm 40:2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a

rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

ABL Women’s Flag Football League

My name is Michelle Green and I am writing this letter to address the issues I have had with the

City of Abilene . I formed the ABL Women’s Flag Football League, so that women in Abilene and

surrounding cities could come together and enjoy the camaraderie of competition and sportsman-

ship. The league is family oriented and gives women another avenue of competition. I named

the league after the City of Abilene by using the letters ABL to represent our City. When I

approached OUR CITY OFFICIAL with City of Abilene about using Lee Sports Complex to have the games, I explained that I already had 6 teams and that there would be a good sized fan base. I asked if we could use the field to host games on Sunday afternoons. I was told that we could use the field; however, when the time came for us to begin our practice, we were told that we would need to use the field called “Field 5”, which is the water pond area when it rains. I was not

excited about this prospect given the fact that I purchased a One Million dollar insurance policy to ensure the City that if any damage was done,

it would be covered. I asked again if we could use the main field at Lee Sports Complex instead of Field 5 to play since no one was using that field on Sunday afternoons. My request was denied and I was told that I could move to Rose Park and use an old field behind the tennis courts.

I am a tax-paying citizen and so are the 75 other women involved in this league, not to mention the coaches and volunteers. All-in-all I have

about 125 people involved in making this league a success and another 100s + people who come out to watch games on Sunday afternoons. I do not understand why it would be an issue for the

City of Abilene to allow our league to use the Lee Sports Complex main field to host these football games. It would be nice to see a marked football

field and a concession stand where fans could come and watch the ABL Women’s Flag Football

League play and feel like they were actually a “complete” league instead of a Sunday afternoon

get-together.

Sincerely, Michelle Green, President ABL Women’s Flag Football League

Stay Above Strife

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so

drop the matter before a dispute breaks out” (Proverbs 17:14, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Too often, people fall into the trap of strife. Some-one says something that rubs you the wrong way, and before you know it, there is tension, quar-reling and division. The Bible tells us that strife opens the door to “every evil work.” It’s the en-emy’s greatest trap to keep people from living in victory. But you don’t have to fall into the trap of strife, you can rise above it. Like today’s verse says, you can simply drop the matter before it turns into something bigger than it needs to be. You don’t have to sink down to somebody’s level and argue with them and try to prove that you’re right. You weren’t put on this earth to correct ev-

erybody around you.

If you are going to be all that God’s called you to be, you have to learn to stay above strife. Instead of letting disagreements pull your relationships apart, look for common ground to draw you closer to the people in your life. Look for peace. Look for ways to be a blessing. Stay above strife so you can enjoy your relationships and experience the bless-

ing He has for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY Heavenly Father, I choose to stay above strife. I choose to honor You by seeking peace in my rela-tionships. Empower me to walk in love and be an example of Your light everywhere I go in Jesus’

name. Amen.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“It is an honor for a man to cease from strife...” (Proverbs 20:3, KJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

In life, many of the challenges we face are simply

distractions from the enemy to keep us from pursu-ing our destiny. Maybe someone in the office isn’t as friendly to you as you’d like. Maybe you have a neighbor who always parks in front of your house

and blocks your mailbox. Those things may be frus-trating, but they have little significance when you look at the big picture of eternity. You can’t allow

the little things to cause strife in your life.

In scripture, just before David fought the giant Goliath, his brother Iliab tried to confront him. But David knew that arguing with Iliab wasn’t

even worth his time and strength. He knew his real battle was with Goliath, and he didn’t want to be distracted. He simply “turned away” from Iliab and kept his focus on what he was called to do.

Let’s follow the example of David and keep our eyes on what’s most important in life. Instead of be-ing led away by frustrations, let’s focus on the big picture. Know when to turn away from strife and receive the mark of honor the Lord has for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for Your hand of victory in my life. Give me the wisdom and courage I need to walk away from strife so I can focus on the destiny You have prepared for me. I love You and bless You

today and always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 4:11 Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,

Proverbs 17:14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam;so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.

Family/Extended Family, greetings to all!

Lamentations 3:25 “The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;”

Many times we will fail and come short, but our God is a God of another chance so take your failures to him as he knows all, and make those failures become a story that tells of his goodness towards you and all who seek him.

GOOD NEWS!

I will be the first to admit sometimes I do not want to get out of a comfort zone, routine, or let go of something intimate that means a lot to me. But as the years have

passed I have matured in manyareas of my life, sometimes its scary. I say scary in the

sense that I never imagined that through theyears at this point in my life I see things with a whole

new perspective. We are living in a time as I have said before what was once considered wrong is

now right and maybe visa versa. You cansee this type of lifestyle in almost all ages, cultures, and

on and on, and so the pressure of not beinglooked at as an odd ball becomes a factor. Ask yourself

this question, where do you stand in this? Are you going with the flow, or is your lifestyle impact-

ing those around you leading them to good news.

It is written in the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John, in the New Testament in John 21:15-17, 15 “When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Si-mon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.” Here Jesus reassured Pe-ter, I’m placing you back in your former position, de-spite all our failures our God can always position us as

an instrument of good news.

So we can better understand what was taking place in this dialogue between our Lord and Peter, we need to look at the at the definition of the word love in the Greek text. The word ‘agapao’ in Greek means to love dearly, another translated word for love in this passage is ‘phileo’ in Greek means a friendly kind of affection. So in other words ‘agapao’ is more of a heart love, and ‘phileo’ is more of a head love. In our journey in this age as we know it we will make mistakes and fail a lot if you are like me, but just as Jesus did for Peter in this occasion he will do for us. Yes, Peter had denied Jesus three times prior to his crucifixion but Jesus knew the kind of love Peter had for him, and he wanted Peter in a

position to tell his world his good news.

In last weeks article I entered comments that people shared about their mother in honor of Mothers day. A very special individual share the following, “at 3 years old: my mom is the best, 7 years old: mom I love you, at 10 years old: mom whatever, at 17 years old: OMG my mom is so annoying, at 25 years old: I wanna go back home, at 35 years old: mom you were right, at 50 years old: I don’t want to loose my mom, at the age of 70: I would give everything to have my mom with me.” Sounds right, and no doubt about it all mommy’s are very special in there unique way. But make no mistake there is no greater love than the love that comes from God, despite all the times we blow it he has always been there just like he was for Peter. Family, friend, don’t you know your hardships can serve someone as an introduc-

tion to his good news.

¡bendiciones! Robert Muñoz “Under Construction!”web: [email protected]

Refuse to Worry

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour

to his life?” (Matthew 6:27, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Is there something that you are worrying about today? To worry means to allow something to

revolve in your mind over and over again. God doesn’t want you to live worried or anxious about anything. He knows that worry steals

your peace and joy. It affects every area of your life. Have you heard the saying, “Don’t worry

yourself sick?” That’s because worrying affects your physical body. It affects your sleep. You

won’t ever gain anything by worrying; in fact, you’ll lose precious moments that you can never get back again. The good news is that God has

promised that you can have victory over worry. It starts by making the choice to trust in Him. When you cast your cares on Him, He will give

you His peace.

Decide today to put an end to worry in your life. Choose to feed your faith and fill your mind with

God’s promises. As you focus on God’s Word, you’ll drive out worry and fill your heart with

faith and expectancy; and you’ll be empowered to move forward into the life of blessing He has

in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAYHeavenly Father, today I choose to put an end

to worry in my life. I choose to feed my faith by studying Your promises and declaring Your Word over my life. Help me to totally trust in You today

and every day in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrowwill worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
