Flexibility

Flexibility in design is key to providing fa-cilities with cost effective automation solutions. Depending on a facility’s needs, combustion controls can be based on single-point (jackshaft) positioning, parallel positioning or fully metered control strategies, with or without oxygen trim. Burner management and flame safety systems can be based on dedicated flame safeguards or programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Bal-ance of plant controls—including chilled and hot water, condensate, feedwater, fuel and steam dis-tribution systems—can be implemented at lev-els ranging from simple single loop controllers to distributed PLC networks with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software operator interfaces.
