About NPA Skawina
NPA Skawina is a manufacturer with over 60 years of experience. NPA Skawina manufactures of aluminium and aluminium alloy wire rods, wires and wires for various uses. We cooperate with universities and world leaders in aluminium processing. As a result, we have developed our product range adding flexible cables made of wires with a diameter less than 0.7 mm.

Overhead conductors
ACSR conductors
This is most popular group of bi-material conductors. Structure of conductor consists of a steel core which is part of the carrier and the aluminium wire stranded of the same diameter. The strength of the cable consists of mechanical properties of steel and aluminium, but the electrical characteristics are provided only by the aluminium layer.

Overhead conductors
AAC conductors
AAC conductors are made entirely of aluminium wires with aluminium content min. 99.5%, thus giving the possibility of obtaining the electrical conductivity of the order of 61% IACS. Strength properties of this conductors stem with aluminium wires property. Structure of the conductor is made of round wires of the same diameter twisted coaxially. AAC conductors are widely used in urban areas where spans are usually short but high conductivity is required. The permissible operating temperature of the conductor is +80°C.

Overhead conductors
AAAC conductors
In the AAAC conductors pure aluminium has been replaced by high-strength alloys based on aluminium (EN-AW 6101; EN-AW 6201 and others). The design of this group of conductors is analogous to the structure of the AAC. The consequence of the use of this alloys, is a high strength of wire and electrical conductivity of 57% IACS resulting from the use of AL2-AL8 wires. In addition, AAC conductors have a number of advantages, such as current carrying capacity higher than in case of ACSR, excellent corrosion resistance and the best weight-to-strength ratio among the wires. The permissible operating temperature of these conductors is +80°C.

Overhead conductors
We can design and make conductors for specific customer requirements of constructed overhead lines. NPA Skawina has in its portfolio of products conductors such groups as the AAC and AAAC conductors, ACSR conductors, low sag conductors and high temperature conductors.
Overhead conductors
How we can pack it for you?
Conductors are delivered in the agreed sections, wound on wooden drums or steel drums received from the client. Wooden drums are in line with the standard PN-91 / O-79353. Available outer diameter of drum: 1,000 to 2,800mm.
Flexible conductors
Application
NPA Skawina manufactures flexible conductors made of wires with diameters from 0.7mm to 0.3mm. Such conductors are used, among others in the production of electrical systems in cars, wind power plants, industrial machinery, household appliances and railways. Physical, mechanical and electrical properties make it possible to use this type of conductors in very broad range of application.
For the production of flexible cables NPA Skawina developed a special alloy wire rod named SkawDraw which guarantees high quality of manufactured cables. As a result, cable quality control takes place just at the level of the manufacture of wire rod - the material from which the wires are drawn. SkawDraw is based on EN-AW 1370 this material is a high purity alloy, where Al = 99.7%.
Flexible cables
Technical conditions
NPA Skawina manufactures multiwires and flexible conductors according to various standards and norms. Normalized rated cross-sections of flexible conductors produced by the NPA Skawina are: 0.5; 0.75; 1; 1.5; 2.5; 4; 6; 10; 16; 25; 35; 50; 70; 95; 120; 150; 185; 240; 300; 400 and 500mm² according to IEC 60228. NPA Skawina is also the manufacturer of flexible conductor for automotive industry according to ISO 6722 standard and based on the LV112 standard in the range of rated cross-sections: 0,75; 1; 1,25; 1,5; 2; 2,5; 3; 4; 5; 6; 8; 10; 12; 16; 20; 25; 30;35; 40; 50; 60;70; 85; 95; 120 and 160 mm2. And last but not least, NPA Skawina also manufactures other series of cross-sections of flexible conductors that are used in automotive standard LV112. These cross-are: 17, 27, 42 and 59 mm2.

The conductors we manufactured have all the required properties described in the above-mentioned standards, i.e.: • Conductor resistance, • Conductor weight, • Conductor diameter, • Tensile strength of wires , • Elongation of wires.
