To be perfectly honest I am un- sure whether the 1N teacher had him for Show and Tell or whether she felt that by placing a uniform upon him, he would go unnoced and be accepted as a new student. I understand that if his classmates applied amazing effort, they were rewarded by being given the task of being Henrys Helper for a short me. There were some amazing efforts applied in 1N this week as a result. They loved helping Henry, and it gave them great energy and sasfacon. When we see vulnerability and a need for support in others, there is something that appeals to the best of us that simply makes us want to help. This was evidenced in the studentsresponse to Henry, and it is evidenced in our families and our school every day. Every day I see parents who make huge sacrifices and staff who go well over that which could reasonably be expected. They see in our students a vulnerability and a need of support, and it compels them to respond. Despite the hard work and the extra effort required, they find energy to help others and find sasfacon in seeing their students progress and flourish. This is Catholic Educaon Week. It is now 175 years since the first Catholic School was opened in Queensland. Like our schools today, it was opened to support all children, parcularly our most vulnerable. Schools are a clear example of faith in acon and it is a wonderful privilege to serve as a part of this community organisaon. APRE NEWS—CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK

Catholic Education Week

26 July – 1 August 2020

What an exciting week we have had celebrating Catholic Education Week. The week began with a special message from Sr Mary who set some acts of kindness challenges. We were led in a beautiful Courtyard Prayer by 6S who highlighted how amazing Catholic schools are and how blessed we are to be involved in our wonder-ful St Patrick’s community. Mr Dale visited and presented Mr Fox with a special leadership award. A cheeky leprechaun has been hiding solidarity stones around the school in an effort for us to realise that when we work together we can achieve great things. There has been a certain energy and electricity in the air this week and it has been just lovely to see so many happy and excited faces. I just love how our school creates a sense of community.
