• Open to domestic and international students, closes 25 November.

• $31,000 over 4 years - entire student contribution amount for domestic students, 1/3 for international. Not considered taxable income.

• Dean’s Scholars are enrolled in EN40 – Bachelor of Engineering – no double degrees.

Dean’s Honours Program (BS06)

• Domestic and international students.

• No application, just apply for BS06 on QTAC application.

• $20,000 over 3 years, receive the money on a per semester basis. This scholarship has been deemed tax exempt by QUT, but ultimate determination will be made by the Australian Taxation Office.

• BS06 Dean’s Honours Program – no double degrees.

• If you are accepted into BS06 you will receive the scholarship.

Academic Excellence Scholarship

• No application process. All domestic and international OP1-2 students accepted in a QUT Business course who do not hold another merit-based scholarship at QUT will receive this scholarship.

• $5000 over 1 year, receive the money on a per semester basis. This scholarship has been deemed tax exempt by QUT, but ultimate determination will be made by the Australian Taxation Office.

• Business single or business double degree.

Corporate Partners in Excellence:

• Open to domestic students, applications close 25 November.

• $36,000 over 3 years, receive the money, on a per semester basis plus two semesters of work experience with our corporate partners and an accelerated study program. This scholarship has been deemed tax exempt by QUT, but ultimate determination will be made by the Australian Taxation Office.

• Bachelor of Business single degree – any major.

• There is a separate application form www.student.qut.edu.au/fees-and-finances/scholarships-and-prizes/scholarships/corporate-partners-in-excellence-scholarship-commencing

• Does not have to be first preference – if you wish to place a QUT Business double degree as your first preference you will be eligible but if successful must transfer to the single Business degree.

Law

QUT Law Founders’ Scholarship

• Domestic students only, applications will be available following the QTAC major offer round in January and will close in late February/early March.

• A minimum of one year of HECS fees or the equivalent amount. Receive the money and although this scholarship has been deemed tax exempt by QUT, the Australian Taxation Office will make the ultimate determination. May also receive a professional mentor, assistance in obtaining a summer clerkship or vacation legal experience and an academic mentor who is a member of staff.

• Law single or double degree.

• Apply for course through QTAC, receive offer into course and apply when applications are available.

• Looking for students with excellent academic records who demonstrate socio-economic disadvantage.

Science and Technology

Dean’s Scholars Accelerated Honours Program

• Open to domestic and international students, applications close 30 November.

• Domestic students receive 100% tuition fee sponsorship undergrad + Honours; international students receive 1/3 tuition fee sponsorship undergrad + Honours. Accelerated course and honours in three years.

• Single degrees only of:

– B. Information Technology (QTAC code 418002)

– B. Games and Interactive Entertainment (QTAC code 418142)

– B. Corporate Systems Management (QTAC code 418342)

– B. Mathematics (QTAC code 418742)

– B. Applied Science (QTAC code 418042)

• $4000 over 1 year paid in two equal instalments after census date each semester.

Mathematics Bursary Program • Open to domestic students only, applications close 31

January 2012.

• Queensland Treasury Bursary is $6000 payable over 3 years; QUT internally-funded bursaries value at between $3000 to $6000 payable over 3 or 4 years.

• Single Bachelor of Mathematics or mathematics double degrees with business, IT, science and engineering.

Student Excellence Scholarship

• 100% tuition fee waiver for one semester only.

• Any Faculty single coursework degrees or double degrees (coursework) that belong exclusively to the Faculty of Science and Technology that is open to international students (excludes courses moving to Faculty of Health in 2012).

• International applicants only.

• No application form but students can ask Faculty to check their eligibility.

• Students must apply for eligible coursework degree in Faculty directly to the university through the F Form.

What’s the difference between faculty scholarships and the Vice-Chancellor’s scholarship?

Faculty Merit Scholarships

• Paid in fee waiver i.e. NO HECS debt. Check the conditions of each scholarship to confirm.

e.g. Dean’s Scholars Program, Accelerated Honours etc.

Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships

• Paid in cash instalments i.e. possible HECS debt.

• Scholarship is discretionary i.e. you can choose how you spend it.

How much will it cost?

• defer payment of contribution with HECS-HELP
