Sateon Access Control is a flexible and secure solution for your entire university. This includes restricting or permitting access to buildings and facilities, obtaining an audit trail and creating a low energy environment.

Sateon allows you to control all university facilities, including far flung locations, such as that distant north entrance, previously thought too expensive to secure on your access control system. Securing remote locations through your access control system instantly decreases the risk, time and cost associated with manually securing these locations.

Sateon enables you to see who has accessed which area and when, allowing you to trace any damages back to the culprit. Sateon reduces the time and cost associated with enrolling new students to your university. You can easily allocate permissions to individuals by assigning them to an access group, which grants or restricts entry to various areas within the university. These access groups could be based on the individual’s academic course or society membership. Changes to SITS student databases or equivalent are relayed to Sateon, automatically updating any changes to courses or modules which require alterations to access privileges.

We all know that students can be tardy and losing access control cards is not unusual. Fortunately, Sateon’s temporary token flow ensures that the safety and security of your university is not compromised regardless of the number of access tokens that have been misplaced, as when a new token is issued to any individual, their previous card is automatically deactivated, with no additional effort.

How Lecturers Use Sateon

Sateon Access Control allows lecturers easy access to a register of all students that presented their credential upon accessing the lecture hall. This eliminates students attempting to sign in for their friends and provides an accurate representation of attendance to lectures.

In addition, Sateon integrates with your existing AV equipment, air conditioning and lighting, giving lecturers complete control over the lecture hall throughout lectures, for example, the AV equipment can only be run once the lecturer is in the room.
