Distances:Sprint Try-Tri

Swim 750 m (30 lengths) 400 m (16 lengths)Bike 20 km (4 loops) 10 km (2 loops)Run 5 km (1 lap) 2.5 km (1/2 lap)

Course Description:Swim 25m indoor pool swim

(west pool Van Vliet Centre)Bike 5 km loop around the University, incl. Emily Murphy HillRun Sprint lap down into the River Valley

Location:University of Alberta Aquatic Center - West Pool(Van Vliet Physical Education and Recreation Centre)

Race Day Schedule (tentative):Check in 6:30-7:30 amBody marking 6:30-7:30 amRace starts (1st heat) 8:00 amPost-Race Food from 10:00 amAward Ceremony ~ 12:30 pm

Race Package Pickup:Race package pickup is located at Way Past Fast (Northwest Comer of Gateway Blvd. & 61 Ave.) on May 3 & 4, 2007 10:00 am -6:00 pm.

Bike Inspections:A recommended bike inspections is available at Way Past Fast (Northwest Corner of Gateway Blvd. & 61 Ave.) on May 3 & 4, during store hours.

Campus Food Bank:1$ of the entry fees will go directly towards the U of A Campus Food Bank. Additional money can be donated and food will be collected on race day.

ATA Race Day Insurance:Included in the registration fee is Alberta Triathlon Association Race Day insurance. There will be no discounts for current ATA members, and an ATA membership is not a prerequisite for membership. The ATA office will be on hand to offer ATA yearly memberships at a reduced rate for race competitors.

AwardsAwards will be given to the female and male winners of the Try and the sprint Triathlon and youth categories.

Draw prices will be given away during the award ceremony after the race.

Entry Fee & Deadline:All entry forms must arrive no later than April 10, 2007. The entry fee includes a T-Shirt, the post-race meal, and 1$ donation to the U of A Campus Food Bank.

Individual Event:Regular $70.00 (Try) $80.00 (Sprint)Youth (ages 12-17) $45.00 (Try) $55.00 (Sprint)

- Fees include ATA race day insurance- A late fee of $30 will be added to registrations after April 10, 2007- UofA Tri-Club members have a $10 discount, however must register directly with a club executiveThe race is limited to 200 participants. Registration will be processed according to their arrival date.

Event participants requirement to sign a waiver for the University of Alberta:Each participant will be required to sign a release of liability, waiver of claims and indemnification agreement before they can participate in the event on May 6, 2007. Waivers can be signed during the check-in on race day, or by submitting the waiver to the registration office prior to the race.The waiver will wave the rights of the participant to sue in the event of any/all injuries received during the event. The waiver must be signed prior to the start of the race. Failure to agree and to sign this document will bar you from participation in the event. Please DO NOT CONSUME any alcohol prior to coming to sign this document (you will not be allowed to sign the waiver and therefore, can not participate).
