The Shower Channel is an easy to install andaesthetically attractive discharge channel forshower locations.Because of the shallow depth and varyinglengths the shower channel is suitable for usein new or refurbished projects.As the discharge from the Shower Channel isjust one way, this makes the tile work easier.

If the Shower Channel is installed at the frontof the shower it will function as a barrieragainst ingress of water whilst maintaining a threshold free access.If the channel is installed with a dividable gra-ting then this can be placed under the showerdoor.

1. Before installing the shower channel,please remove the gratings in order toavoid damage. Further protection is af-forded by applying adhesive tape to theedge of the shower channel.

2. Make sure that no impurities (mortar, etc.)can get into the shower channel duringassembly and installation work. We recom-mend that it is temporarily covered duringthese processes.

3. We recommend to use the emery paperto roughen the side and bottom sectionsof the shower channel, then use degreas-ing agent to achieve better adhesion tothe floor materials.

4. Connect the channel to the waste pipemaking sure that the pipe is inserted asfar as possible (regardless of the pipetype – whether PVC, PE or PP).

5. If required ground the channel by connect-

ing the grounding conductor to thegrounding point of the drainage body.

6. Level the channel with the help of the ex-tension brackets (fasten these bracketswith screws) or install the channel in mor-tar.

7. Fill in the space under the channel andaround it with cement mortar, taking intoaccount the thickness of the tiles.

8. While laying the tiles, it is necessary tomake sure that the gradient in the showerarea is always directed towards the show-er channel. Place the tiles at least 1 to 2mm higher than the upper side of theshower channel edge, in order to avoidpooling along the channel.

9. After tiling, seal the tiles to the channelwith a silicon sealant, complying with therecommendations of the manufacturer.For best results, make sure the silicon

joint has the same width and colour asthe joint between the tiles.

10. Remove any cement or jointing agentresidue carefully with the help of a plasticwool/sponge.

11. Remove the protective film from the grat-ing then install the grating back into thechannel.

Cleaning and maintenanceStainless steel is vulnerable to scratches.When cleaning, do not use sharp or abrasivematerials. Use common household detergentsfor bathrooms or specialist cleaning agents forstainless steel. The shower channel does notrequire any special maintenance, but we rec-ommend that you remove regularly the foul airtrap to check the drainage body for contamina-tion and to remove any possible impurities.

Important!

The shower channel can be installed in newlyconstructed buildings as well as renovationprojects. It is necessary to prepare sufficientspace in the floor for the body of the showerchannel and the waste pipe. The showerchannels are available in various standard

lengths so that it is possible to select themost suitable product for a given application.Channels are available in designs with sec-tioned gratings to facilitate installation undershower doors.

1. The off-take capacity of the channel is notonly determined by the capacity of the actu-al channel itself, but also the waste pipe towhich these elements are to be connected. Please adhere to the following instructions:• The length of the waste pipeline to thevertical waste stack of the system must beas short as possible;• Avoid bends in the system where possible;• Make sure that the waste pipe has a suffi-

cient gradient for the discharge required;• The diameter of the waste pipeline mustbe at least 50 mm (or 40mm by plastic FAT).

2. The capacity of the shower channel is ap-proximately 20 l/min (tested according toEN1253), which is more than sufficient fora majority of shower types. If the showerchannel is used for multiple showers or forshowers with a higher capacity please con-tact your supplier.

3. Select a Showerchannel length so that it

can be placed between the walls withoutany additional tiles. The shower channelcan be placed both in the rear of the show-er area or to the front, the former optiontends to be preferred.

4. If the shower channel is installed under theshower door, it is necessary to use of theshower channel with a sectioned grating sothat removal is possible.
