Action Plan for Computing September 2016 – July 2017

Objective 1 – To ensure complete coverage of the new National Curriculum for Computing through monitoring, training and resources.

Desired Outcomes – The computing coordinator will continue to ensure that the new Computing National Curriculum is being taught effectively across the school ensuring there is a progression of key skills. Task Success Criteria Monitoring Resources Key Persons Date 1. To analyse all Long and Medium Term Plans to ensure the full computing curriculum is being taught. (Especially the digital literacy and information technology strands.)

The subject leader will have a clear understanding of any weaknesses in curriculum coverage across the school. By the end of the year there will be complete coverage of the computing curriculum across all key stages.

Through the LTP Curriculum Map for Computing Through the Subject Leader File Through the appraisal process.

2. To create a LTP Curriculum Map for Computing.

A LTP for the coverage of Computing will have been drawn up ensuring the full computing curriculum is being taught.

3. To ensure a clear progression of skills in digital literacy and information technology across the key stages.

Planning will show a clear progression across each key stage. Children will become more competent and confident with using technology.

Through checking MTP’s and observations of teaching and learning.

4. To ensure that the computing progression document is being used to inform planning.

There will be clear evidence of teachers using the set objectives in their medium term and long term planning.

Objective 2 - To ensure assessment procedures are being implemented rigorously and used to inform planning. Desired Outcomes – Assessment in computing will be embedded across the school. Children’s work will have been moderated. There will be clear evidence to show that teacher assessments in computing have been moderated and are robust. Future planning will have been adapted to reflect assessments made so as to ensure sufficient challenge and support for all pupils.

Pieces of evidence (Photographs etc.) of children’s learning will be collected and stored in the computing file on the server. This will inform assessment of children’s learning.

2. To ensure the assessment progression document for computing is being used to assess children’s learning.

Assessment within Computing will be accurate and used to inform future planning.

3. To moderate examples of assessments being made within each key stage.

The assessments made in school will be shown to be robust. Judgements made of children below, at age and beyond age expected will have been moderated.
