Kannada Programme in 'Gamaka Vyakhyana'

July 18th Monday 2016 .

by Smt Vidushi N Shreemathi and Smt Kamalamma

They chose poems from the Kannada text books of VIII, IX & X- Vidushi Shreemathi sang the verses in Raaga

and Gamaka – explaining the prosody. And Smt Kamalamma gave excellent explanations of the same –

'Vyakhyana'. Mythological stories of the Shravana Kumar, serving his blind parents and Dasharatha were

narrated and referred to how King Dasharatha all unknowingly shot at Shravan Kumar, mistaking him to be a

night.

Yoga Demonstration - 19th and 20th July 2016

Yoga Demonstration and talk by Volunteers from NGO –'Yoga Vidya Pranik Healing Foundation of Karnataka'

On the first day , ie 19th July, Children of VIII, IX and X were taught 'Meditation of Twin Hearts' – Heart

Chakra and Crown Chakra.

9 steps were taught.

1. Exercises

2. Prayer

3. Concentration – on heart chakra, blessing mother earth

4. Concentration on Crown Chakra – blessing Mother Earth

5. Concentration on both together.

6. Practising silence

7. Sharing / Releasing excess energy

8. Express Gratitude – say ' Thank you'

9. Exercises – Jumping Jacks.

Posture for Meditation :

On the 20th, the second day they held a demonstration of Super Brain Yoga ; they taught the students to do

various exercises – eye rotation , neck and shoulder rotation , knees and ankle and hip rotation and other

exercises. Finally there was meditation and Jumping Jacks.

Founder's Day Celebrations - July 7th 2016

Founder's Day Was celebrated, and sweets distributed to students and teachers.

We started with the prayer – chanted Dhyana sloka, had lighting of the lamp and invocation. The occasion was

graced by Management members:

Dr. K Sriahari – Hon. Secretary of Udupi Sri Admar Mutt Educational Council

Shri Venkatesh – Hon . Jt . Secretary

Principals of High School and Pre Primary section : Mr K Nagaraja and Mrs Indu Bhashyam

Senior Teacher from Primary Section – Mrs Manorekha

Shri Venkatesh welcomed the gathering.

Introduction ,to the Chief Guest Dr. G.U.Kulkarni, Director of Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences

Bangalore, was given by Mrs Usha Narahari

Dr. K Srihari enlightened the gathering by speaking on our beloved , revered founder President His Holiness Sri

Vibudesha Theertha Swamiji

Prizes of the Founder's Day Quiz for both Primary Section and High School Section were given away by the

chief guest

Mrs Suma announced the names of the prize winners.

The chief guest addressed the gathering, he made the students think deeply about what they want to do in their

life. He spoke about his sources of inspiration and stressed on the importance of the Discipline, Tenacity,

Perseverance, Hardwork and passion for work.

The Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Sandhya G, Senior Teacher from Primary Section

The Programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem

Founder's day science quiz

June 20th : preliminary round of Founder's Day Science Quiz

There were 50 teams with 3 students per team. There were students from VIII, IX and X in each team.

4 teams were selected for the final round – house wise

June 27th : Final round of Founder's Day Science Quiz

was held in the new Auditorium . There were 5 rounds which included pictorial , audio visual and buzzer

rounds .
