(i.e. of music magazines) The title of the magazine The title of my magazine uses the conventions of real media products because i t is at the top of my magazine starting in the left hand corner going across the page, this is how you will see a lot of other magazines laid out in the shop. My magazine title is a lot like ¶Billboard· and ¶Vibe· magazine in the w ay that it goes across the top of the page almos t right to the end and that the artists head is slightly over the title. I chose ¶Blake· font off ¶Dafonts.com· because after doing my research into fonts I thought it was suitable for my magazine, it goes with the style of my magazine and I think it also makes it clear of my target audience because it is a font very aimed at girls and I also think it looks very modern and not too young. I think because it is in capital letters it also stands out. I don·t think that the title of my magazine challenges conventions in any way as it is very simple and in the same p lace as on a real media product. Graphology/page layouts I think that the graphology and page layout of m y front cover follow the conventions of a real life media product because the title is at the top of the page starting from the left hand side, the artists name is bigger to show the main attraction, there ar e cover lines that take up quite a bit of space and show what else is going to be in the magazine, there is a barcode, date and price a nd the picture covers a lot of the magazine. I have compared it here to ¶Billboard· magazine as I think it is a good example to show that it follows conventions. I think that the graphology and pag e layout of my contents page follows conventions in the way that it has the same font as my masthead to show a clear link between the two, it has pictures on it and tells the readers w here to find what they want to read. I think it goes against conventions because the colour of the background is a different colour to the front cover, however I think this works because my colour scheme is pastel colours and this is clear throughout and I have other elements to show a link to the pages I created. I have used this one as an example because the way the picture is laid out slightly different as mine is.

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? (i.e. of musimagazines)

The title of the magazine

The title of my magazine uses the conventions of real media products because it is at the top of my magazine starting in thehand corner going across the page, this is how you will see a lot of other magazines laid out in the shop. My magazine title like ¶Billboard· and ¶Vibe· magazine in the way that it goes across the top of the page almost right to the end and that the ahead is slightly over the title.

I chose ¶Blake· font off ¶Dafonts.com· because after doing my research into fonts I thought it was suitable for my magazinewith the style of my magazine and I think it also makes it clear of my target audience because it is a font very aimed at girlsalso think it looks very modern and not too young. I think because it is in capital letters it also stands out. I don·t think that of my magazine challenges conventions in any way as it is very simple and in the same place as on a real media product.

Graphology/page layouts

I think that the graphology and page layout of my front cover follow the conventions of areal life media product because the title is at the top of the page starting from the lefthand side, the artists name is bigger to show the main attraction, there ar e cover linesthat take up quite a bit of space and show what else is going to be in the magazine, thereis a barcode, date and price and the picture covers a lot of the magazine. I havecompared it here to ¶Billboard· magazine as I think it is a good example to show that itfollows conventions.

I think that the graphology and page layout of my contents page follows conventions in the wthat it has the same font as my masthead to show a clear link between the two, it has pictureson it and tells the readers where to find what they want to read. I think it goes againstconventions because the colour of the background is a different colour to the front cover, however I think this works because my colour scheme is pastel colours and this is clearthroughout and I have other elements to show a link to the pages I created. I have used this oneas an example because the way the picture is laid out slightly different as mine is.

I think the graphology and page layout of mymagazine follows the conventions of a realmagazine and I am using this example of¶Billboard· magazine because I think it shows thiswell. I have one main picture with an article

beside it in columns with other smaller pictures and a couple of box·s with extra information in as the example here does ahave again used the same font for the title and used my colour scheme to show a link between my pages.

Costumes, props, iconography used toreflect genre

I thought carefully about the outfit for the artist and I think it follows conventions because it is a simpoutfit but it also reflects the style and genre of my magazine because of the colours used and that it isfashionable. I think the other outfits u sed throughout my magazine also follow the style of being girland simple, I think this is clear and they also are the same sort of colours as this outfit, this also showa link between the pages.

Camerawork and framing of images

The camerawork I think follows conventions because I have used a simple mid-shot on the front cover and on most images in my magaartist is looking at the camera. I think it could challenge conventions on the contents page because my model is sitting down however Ithis work still because of the way I have framed the image with text, I think this makes it look creative and more in place. I have also fsome other images or used background in my magazine to make them look more in place and on my double page spr ead I used plainbackgrounds but I still think these work as they look simple and not too overcrowded.

Title, article, header , font and style

The titles throughout my magazine follow conventions because I have used the same font for all of them to show a although my masthead is made slightly bolder to make it stand out.The article also follows conventions because it is set ou t in

columns and it generally answers the kind of questions I think people will want to know about an artist. Headers and coverlfollow the conventions because of the way they are laid out and what they tell the readers, the fonts follow conventions bechave only used two or three main ones to not make my magazine look too messy or overcrowded, the style of my magazinenot follow the conventions because I chose to use different coloured backgrounds however it does follow the conventions bshowing the same style throughout the magazine,

Genre and how the magazine cover , contents and spread suggest it

The genre of my magazine is ¶pop· and I think that all of my pages show this, my front cover because of the way model is dreand standing and the fonts I have used. My contents show this again by the outfits of the models used and the fonts and also the backgcolour, My double page spread suggests this because of again the outfits and also reference to famo us people that could be included insame genre.

How your artist(s) are represented

I think the way my artist is represented follows the conventions of a real media product because it is a mid shot and my arti st is standinwelcoming pose that I think would be found on the front of a magazine. I learnt this from the research stage of my work which helped mknow what sort of pose to use.

Colou

rscheme

My colour scheme follows conventions because I chose three main colours, these were pastel, black and white. I used two different pacolours in my magazine but I think it was clear that they followed my colour scheme. I think you would see this mix of colours togethemedia product however I think it goes against conventions in the wa y that the colours were on the background for the page.
