This description of commodities or contractual services intended for purchase from a single source is posted in accordance with section 287.057(3) (c), Florida Statutes and will remain posted for a period of at least 7 business days.
Commodity or Service Required (commodity class and group, manufacturer, model, and description, as appropriate): 41104000, Sampling Equipment (Environmental Sampling Equipment, Water) 77101503, Environmental indicators analysis Quantity or Term (as appropriate): 90 days from issuance of Purchase Order Requestor (division, bureau, office, individual, as appropriate): Xiomara Quiroz, Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve Performance and/or Design Requirements (intended use, function or application, compatibility etc. requirements; reference to policy, rule, statute or other act of the Legislature, etc., as appropriate): EXO series water quality and environmental monitoring sensors, instrumentation and related products and services. Intended source (vendor, contractor): YSI Inc / Xylem Estimated Dollar Amount: $61,428.00 Justification for single source acquisition (what is necessary and unique about the product, service or source; steps taken to confirm unavailability of competition, as appropriate): The Department’s Division of Coastal and Aquatic Managed Areas, Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (DEP) wishes to procure EXO2 sondes, sensors, and parts. These items will be used to ensure consistent, high quality field data collection related to the water quality monitoring component of the National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) System Wide Monitoring Program. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) mandates all NERRs to participate in the System Wide Monitoring Program (SWMP). Continuous in-situ monitoring of specific water quality parameters (e.g., temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH, and relative water level) is accomplished via the use of datasondes. SWMP methodologies, administered by the Centralized Data Management Office (CDMO) and under the direct supervision of the CDMO Data Management Committee, specifically require the use of YSI Inc. datasondes and associated probes, accessories, and software for data collection. YSI Inc. is the only available distributor for this specialized equipment, and it is imperative that products be purchased through the manufacture in order to continue to implement SWMP and achieve NOAA partner compliance. 1. Provide notice of its intended decision to enter a single-source purchase contract in the manner specified in s.120.57(3) FS, if the amount of the contract does not exceed the threshold amount provided in s.287.017 for CATEGORY FOUR.
