1.1 Connecting the motor using the IS plug connectorThe following figure shows a motor with IS plug connector as an example:
The IS plug connector is supplied from the factory with its base fully wired-up, includingadditional features such as a brake rectifier. The upper section of the IS connector is in-cluded in the scope of delivery and must be connected as shown in the wiring diagram.
The IS plug connector has CSA approval up to 600 V. Note for application according toCSA regulations: Tighten the M3 terminal screws to a torque of 0.5 Nm (4.4 lb-in). Seethe table in the respective operating instructions for American Wire Gauge (AWG) cablecross sections.
INFORMATIONThis addendum to the operating instructions contains additional information for theconnection of the motor via IS plug connectors. The following operating instructionsare amended:• "AC motors DR/DT/DV/DTE/DVE, Asynchronous Servomotors CT/CV" (part
number 11291613, edition 08/2004) • "Aseptic Drives" (part number 11225912, edition 11/2003)Please use the data specified in this document. This document does not replace thedetailed operating instructions.

WARNINGNo grounding due to incorrect installation.
Severe or fatal injuries.• For the installation, you must comply with the safety notes in chapter 2 of the
respective operating instructions.• Tighten the retaining screws of the IS plug connector properly with 2 Nm (17.7 lb-
in), as these screws also act as the protective earth contacts.
