Craft After Dark—Natural Dyeing

Explore the possibilities of natural dyeing in this workshop series looking at dyeing fabric/textiles using natural items such as local plants and kitchen scraps. Learn about the different steps in the dyeing process, how to prepare your fabric or yarn for dyeing and best fibres for dyeing.

DIY Worm Farm

Learn how to create your own low-cost worm farms using recycled materials. Worm farms are great for reducing landfill, and the castings and juice provided by the worm farm are an invaluable fertilizer for the garden. Session will look at different ways to set up your worm farm and how to keep your worms happy.

Groups & Activities Boomerang Bags Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House

Boomerang Bags—KCNH upcycles textile waste into an array of fab items. Everything from re-usable shopping bags and cutlery wraps, to produce bags, soft toys and draft stoppers.

Sessions are an opportunity practice or improve your sewing skills, meet a friendly group and help divert waste from landfill. All equipment supplied—you can bring along your own sewing machine if you have one.

Kids Kokedama Workshop

A fun introduction to gardening, kids will make their own kokedama (‘moss ball’ in Japanese) — a great way to create a hanging garden without the plastic pots. This workshop involves some mess! Suitable for kids aged 7-13 years.
