What do you hear? Listening for Strengths and Potential Coaching Points

Audiotape Coaching ProcessOne way to do it:Before meeting the learner, code the tape (if using a coding instrument); note strengths and potential coaching points. If first session, go over what the two of you will be listening for (i.e., spirit, direction/guiding, OARS, change talk, flow, etc.).Ask them to ID the target behavior and evoke learners perceptions of strengths.If not first tape, review goals from last session and evoke progress/thoughts.
