**IMPORTANT NOTICE**
**PARENT PICK UP: CARE Now ends promptly each day at 5:00pm**
In addition to parent pick up, a telephone has been placed in the teachers’ lounge area in the cafeteria. You can now call 757-682-2400, press 1 and then ext.3035 to reach CARE Now staff members to reach your child after the main office closes at 4:00pm.
Professionals from Sentara Norfolk General visited our program for a Friday Club day and presented information related to different health care professions. Students were taught to
perform various activities including using a stethoscope and practicing CPR.
7th & 8th grade students and ODU Advocates participate in an activity called Color Touch.

Values & Conscientiousness – What is important to you, your family, your community, your culture, your country, your school, and your partners. Applying values orientation to your everyday life- Values orientation is making decisions that include the desire to live a good life and making your own decisions rather than following others. Values orientation is looking beyond a quick and easy decision. You make decisions based on your own values, morals, or ethics.
Relationships & Trustworthiness – a connection, association, or involvement. Applying relationships to your life- Building relationships are important. You should establish and maintain healthy relationships with peers, family, and role models.
Insight & Rule Following – an instance of catching the true nature of a thing, especially through intuitive understanding. Applying insight to your life- Insight is the ability to read into a person’s verbal or body gestures as well as situations. Insight allows you to better understand your surroundings
Independence & Trustworthiness - The state or quality of being independent. Thinking or acting for oneself. Applying independence to your life- Independence is the ability for you to be self-reliant, self-directed, and self-
determined. Independence allows you to make decisions that are not influenced by peer pressure and allows you to say
“no” when needed.
