Job Description Aged Cheese Cleaning Room Attendant SUMMARY: The Cleaning Room Attendant in aged cheese is responsible for ensuring proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment, from the salt shakers, cheese racks, up to the cabinet washer and sanitizer water tubs. Loading cabinet washer, washing machine, footbath maintenance and chemical retrieval are a few of the day-to-day activities. This includes testing equipment to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized before storage. Job may include any step in the process of making product, when needed, while following company safety and quality procedures. This position reports to Aged Cheese Supervisor or Team Leader. Note: The job has specific start time. The end time is dependent on getting all aspects of the day completed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties as assigned): § Sets-up and dismantles CIP machines, cleans and sanitizes prior to and after using. § Makes sure machinery runs efficiently and detects malfunctions when they occur. § Performs a visual and records swab check to ensure all equipment is clean and sanitized properly to Vermont Creamery’s standards. § Does cleaning/sanitizing according to schedule and necessity. § Completes all quality paperwork. § Washes cheese bags, and operates cabinet washer to clean and sanitize other equipment. § Assists production crew with workload when needed. § Properly follows VC’s standard protocols and procedures. § Assembles pipes, connects vats, pumps, and other equipment based on process. § Performs environmental cleaning following company Quality Plan. § Follows all procedures and GMPs, along with company Safety and Quality procedures. § Helps in other departments as needed. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES § Able to perform basic math addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. § Able to effectively communicate and actively listen.
