Candidates enter our graduate program with a BA/BS in a content area with 3.0 GPA and passing scores on subject area tests

Program length: Fall 2011 start; 6 terms full time with experience in both general and special education classrooms every term; a 2-month break in Summer 2012.

Teacher candidates earn: • Masters Degree• Initial license at the middle/secondary level• Endorsements in your content area and special education

Next steps:1. Schedule appointment with your department advisor.2. Register for the tests.3. Order 2 sets of official transcripts.4. Acquire experience with adolescents! Volunteer in schools and with kids

with learning differences! 5. Download reference form and give to 3 people to write you a letter of

reference for application and scholarships.6. Start working on your personal statement.7. Make sure to save your application in Tk20 often. Only click submit

Apply for Financial Aid nowFinancial aidhttp://www.pdx.edu/finaid TEACH grantsThe Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides up to $4,000 per year in grants for graduate and undergraduate students who intend to teach full-time as a highly qualified teacher in high-need subject areas for at least four years at schools that serve students from low-income families. Graduate students are eligible for $4,000 per year ($8,000 total).
