The aim of presentation:• To show characteristic features of running a farm and agrobusiness enterprises in Poland on the basis of:1) Trout farm in Pokrzywna

Each group (country) prepare its presentation in their mother tongue or in English for every visited place taking into account: Characteristic features listed above Personal remarks and feelings not included in the chart Photos taken on the spot

1.Individual farms and specialization

in terms of plants and animal production – main products

• The main products are rainbow trouts and Siberian sturgeons for fishing and cooking.

2.Family oriented business activity

• It is a family business managed by Dziwisz Kazimierz and his cousin.• The surface of farm is around 3500 square meters and they have around 3-4 t of

fish at once in basin.

3.Vocational education of company owners and their children

connected to Agricultural School

• The owners of farm don’t have any agricultural study.

4.Acquiring of funds from European projects aimed

at development and modernization of farms and enterprises (in close relation to agricultural education)

• The farm established in 2000 without any European funds, but they develop

expanding by year to attract more customers.

5.Cooperation with raw materials’ suppliers and recipients of farm

goods, both animal and vegetable

• They bought the fish for populate the lake from Czech Republic and special fodder for fish from Denmark.

6.Any marketing activities aiming at acquiring raw material

and cooperation with recipients of final product

• The raw material for the restaurant and fishing is fresh fish from own lake.

7.Showing significant production connections with foreign

markets

• They don’t have any contracts with other company to sell the fish, only to populate the lake and feeding.

8.Development of side activities such as

agritourism and restaurants

• For duration of some events of high

rank there is the opportunity to watch them on the big screen and large screen.

• There are possibilities to organize social events and special occasions, as well as corporate catering. There are room for 75 people on the outside have about 150 seats.

• They also built a playground in 2005 with toy cars and trampolines. They have billiard, foosball and darts.

• It is possible to rent equipment for fishing in the farm.

• They have a restaurant in which they use fresh fish from the lake.

9.The use of natural climatic and soil qualities in running

a farming company within given area

• The farm it is close to the border between the province of Opole and the Czech Republic is a small place - Moszczanka. Right here in the foothills of the Opawskie of the uppermost peak opolski region Kopą Biskupią (889m.npm) is a small body of water (between Mill Mountain, a historic railway viaduct), which has become a haven of peace for many tourists and locals.

• The water used in activities of farm come from the river which pass near the farm called Gold stream.

• For improvement of environment for fishes the farmers use an equipment named aerator to oxygenate the water.

10.The use of landscape qualities in running a farm

and agricultural company

• The placement of farm it is attractive for customers because of fresh air, silence, relaxed atmosphere and mountains and forest.

11.The use of high quality products

• The fish used to populate the lake has high quality and it is certificated, and also the fodder have a good nutrition value for feeding.

12.Reduction of unemployment in the local area due

to creation of new workplaces (recently)

• The farm have around 12-13 employees and in the summer time they also hire students.

Your opinion about visited place

Advantages:-good valorification of landscape and water-tasty food made from fresh fish-reduction of unployeed rate by use the people from the area and students in summer-very good quality of fish

Disadvantages:-they don’t breed the fishes -they don’t have contracts for selling the fish
