Sustainable GrowthAICA Asia Pacific Holding (AAPH) is a 100 % subsidiary of AICA Kogyo and is the regional head office of more than 17 factories (sites) spread across north Asia (China), South East Asia (SEA) & New Zealand. The main business of AAPH sites are mainly in the manufacture of Industrial adhesives (formaldehyde & non-formaldehyde), Composite board resins & Overlay films (mainly Phenolic based films). AAPH is the leading formaldehyde adhesives manufacturer in Asia and is partnering with all our customers to produce high quality products for their clients all over the world.

With a 5 % CAGR growth since 2010 to present, I am pleased to lead the company on its “Growth” trajectory into the future! In the past few years, with record low costs of raw material, we are seeing reasonable sales growth & outstanding profitability. How then can we sustain & exceed our growth ambition while ensuring we are socially responsible to the environment & the people around us? The answer lies with motivated staff at all levels, having great products and working outside our comfort zones! At AAPH, we strongly believe in our people, who is the human capital and the engine of our growth. With a continuous improvement on the way we do things, everyday will be an exciting day to look forward to!

Our parent company, AICA Kogyo has been very supportive to the growth of AAPH to drive the growth ambitions which includes business units organic growth, focused acquisitions/geographical expansions & synergy plans and with a strategic map of AAPH aligned with our corporate head office vision, mission & values, we are now poised to grow further! AICA Kogyo has grown steadily since it was established in 1936 as a chemical manufacturer, constantly turning out new materials, designs, and technologies over the years. At AICA Kogyo, we focus on a multiaxial product lineup that takes advantage of our core expertise in resin technology. We will continue to build on our strengths in existing businesses (such as chemical products and housing materials), while working tirelessly to expand our activities outside of construction materials-particularly in the development of speciality & performance materials such as electronic materials and auto parts. Faced with a rapidly changing world economy, AICA will continue working to expand its business activities overseas, particularly in Asian countries. Here, we will not only expand our production and distribution bases, but will also actively seek out profitable business partnerships. Two

additional challenges that await us in this new era are global environmental conservation and working in harmony with local communities. To this end, we are actively working to develop more eco-friendly products based on the tenets of our Environment Philosophy.

Our central approach is the tireless pursuit of new possibilities. AICA as a Technology Partner Our Regional Research and Product Development is based in Singapore, supported by Japan R&D centres, providing the necessary coordination and transfer of technology amongst the company sites. A dedicated team of researchers are tasked to focus on developing innovative products of tomorrow that our customers and markets would need.

Local Product development teams with specialised skills and expertise are also set up to provide fast response and tailor-made solutions to our customers’ current needs and issues. Industry specific application facilities allow precise evaluation of developed products to be carried out before putting out to test at our customer processes, thereby increasing our success rates.
