ABOUT SMARKETING

The Smarketing project was designed for any volunteer (exchange

person or trainee) that may carry a Marketing or Business

background. Most importantly, it is project developed for people

who wish to use their personal knowledge to build up a project

that directly impacts society by working with the third sector, at

the Non-governmental Organization (NGO).

i Smarketing's big idea is to develop a 8 week project at a specific

NGO that results in a better image in the city; good publicity of

its day-to-day work; critical consciousness campaign about the

NGO's treated issue and fundraising.

The trainee creates and inserts a break of paradigm for the

organization's environment, offering an international vision for it

while expanding concepts and establishing an operational

planning of six weeks that can contribute to its needs by

improving and expanding the NGOs' instruments for social

promotion.

AIESEC EXTRA ACTIVITIES

As part of the AIESEC Exchange, the volunteer (trainee) is required to

participate on 2 Cultural Events promoted by AIESEC in Franca. The events are called Global Village. Basically it consists of an open fair with stands that represent each country, where the trainees present their culture at a public space. Feel free to bring flags, food and objects that represent your country.

AIESEC will also organize Weekly Meetings, in addition to the work

shift on the NGO, where AIESEC members can help trainees on project development issues and guide reflections on everything that is happening, aiming leadership development and personal growth.

Before it starts, AIESEC will provide trainings to help the trainee begin to

develop the project. Also, we will prepare a detailed material about the NGO (in English), which will help on the project development as well.

VISA & WORK PERMIT

AIESEC in Franca provides complete Visa support. If you need

we can make invitation letters to your consulate. We have experience

with the Visa application process for almost every country, as we

received over 300 trainees in the past few years. We will help you

with whatever documents it may require.

For AIESEC projects in Brazil, you are not required to apply

for a work permit. As the work permit applications are harder to be

accepted, we insist you apply only for the regular tourist visa, which

will cover 3 months of stay in the country, enough for any trainee to

finish the project while still having time to travel, visit and have fun.

In Franca, there are two currency exchange offices. One of

them (Confidence Câmbio) is located at the Franca Shopping Mall, a

place really easy to go to.

LOGISTICS

The closest international airport is located in Guarulhos, a city

right next to São Paulo. Because of that, we will not be able to pick

you up at the airport, but only guide you by giving you complete

online support upon arrival. As the date of your arrival approaches,

you will be provided a step-by-step digital booklet Trainee Guide

with detailed steps you will need to follow in order to go from

Guarulhos Airport to São Paulo Tietê Bus Station, where you will find

very comfortable executive buses to Franca.

Finally, when you arrive in Franca, we will pick you up at the

bus station and take you safely to your host! As already mentioned,

AIESEC in Franca has received over 300 trainees over the past few

years. We've got no record of any trainee having problems to arrive

LOGISTCS

AIESEC in Franca partially provides transportation.

We do not cover full transportation, but we provide every

trainee a Student Pass that allows you to pay half price and take

multiple buses while paying only once (up to 2 hours after taking the

first one). In Franca, the public bus pass costs around R$ 3,50 (less

than US$ 1), so you will be able to pay half (R$ 1,75) each time you

need to go anywhere by bus.

The Student Pass Card doesn't work on weekends, as it was

meant to be used for the projects’ realization only. However, on

weekends you can take the bus paying the regular price or just call a

cab. In Franca, taxi rides are safe, common and not so expensive (R$ 8

to R$ 16, depending on the chosen transport genre: car or

motorcycle).

AIESEC. You will be voluntarily hosted by a student or family house.

You will be introduced to the people who will host you as soon as

Another option is to go out and have meals at a close

The trainees will have a two week recess on the project. During

these two weeks, from December 20th to January 3rd, the trainees
