Our Second AIESEC GeneralTraining was conductedunder the
auspices of a veryremarkable man. He was
the previous Vice Chancellorof Universiti Utara Malaysia,and an
eminent man in
his profession. Tan Sri
Dr. Nordin Kardi hadoverseen the session withour members with
the topic
of the night being StudentDevelopment.
With the aid of the facilitators,the junior members weretaken
through a journeyof self-enlightenment,

whilsteliminating them throughdiscussions.
We are extremely grateful forTan Sris kind attendance
andmentoring. His wisdom andhumor had rubbed off on allof us that
night and indeed,we had benitted greatly fromhis insight and
experience
into matters that we tend tooverlook.

FLOOD!Due to the recent monsoons, the northernregion of Malaysia
including the states ofPerak, Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Kelantanhad
been experiencing continuous rainsrainfall and ash oods in low
areas.
This affects Universiti Utara Malaysiaand its tenants (including
AIESECers) inseveral ways:

The examination period had been shiftedfrom the original 8th of
November - 3rdDecember to the current 21st November -13th
December.
Also, the last day of the 2010 Convocationhad been postoponed
due to the trafc
conditions leading to UUM.
Practicum period had been shifted as wellto 20 December 2010 -
19 April 2011.
There is no longer a direct route into UUMthrough the
North-South Expressway dueto the oods. It will be re-open once
theood receeds.
Edit: The expressway is now open (since 8th Nov)
