Chilled Water Coil With Steel Header (CU and Alu Fin)
Coils are of aluminium / copper plate fins with belled collarsand bonded to 12.7mm OD copper tubes by mechanicalexpansion. The coils have galvanised steel casing andsteel headers with male threaded connections.
Sloping Drain Pan and Drain Outlet
New drain pan assembly for better drainage, bottomaccess drain and sloping for rapid waterflow and betterInternal Air Quantity (IAQ). Ready to couple with femaleconnection.
Direct Expansion Coil (DX Coil)
Coils are of aluminium / copper with belled collars andbonded 12.7mm OD copper tubes by mechanicalexpansion. Coils are provided with brass distributors withsweat type connections.
Isolator Spring
As standard from the factory, the fan and motor assemblyare mounted on a common base with colour-codedinternally mounted spring isolators, which saves siteinstallation cost.
Assembly Fan Housing Motor and Base
FMB are made of painted heavy gauge galvanized steel(for 39G1422 and above) or power strut type (for 39G0508to 39G1319) to ensure proper and easy of installation fanhousing and motor.
Compression Latch (Hex Socket)
Only requires the use of haxagon wrench to open / closethe access door.

Bearing Arm
Self aligning double row ball bearings mounted within acost iron housing supported on tubular bearing armassembly.
Taper Lock Pulley
Ability to change diameter of pulley according to fan shaft.Pulleys with taper lock bush allows for convenientdismantling and maintenance of drive package, besidesoffering flexibility in interchanging for different shaft sizes.
Fan Discharge Collar
Flanged discharge collar to provide easy ductingconnection.
Handle Grab
Large and Non-Conductive handles for easy panelremoval.
Accessory High Velocity Filter (HVF) Frame
For “free air return” application, factory supplied 75mmHVF track is an option instead of one module casingresulting in shorter overall unit length.
Dampers
Mixing boxes are equipped with parallel bladesinterconnected outside with return air dampers.

• Panels shall be formed to produce solid 50mm double walled thermal break design of modular dimensions. Thereshall be a thermal break between the exterior and internal panels. Exterior panels shall be fabricated from 0.50mmthickness pre-painted steel, in accordance to JIS G3312 SGC570 Z18 or equivalent. The coating shall meet orexceed ASTM B117 Standard for Salt Spray Resistance at 500 hours. Interior panels shall be fabricated from solid1.00mm galvanized sheet steel, in accordance with JIS G3302 SGCC Z27 or equivalent [1.00mm SUS 304 StainlessSteel - optional]. Both exterior and interior panels shall be formed and reinforced to provide rigid construction.
• All panels to be insulated with machine-injected rigid polyurethane foam with a minimum density of 40kg/m3 andthermal conductivity K-factor of 0.019W/m.K in accordance with JIS A9514 (PU panel class 0).
• Panels shall be of one-piece design to facilitate removal. Panels shall be assembled with mechanical fastenerssuch that each panel is individually removable. The fasteners shall be zinc-chromate plated [SUS 304 stainlesssteel - optional].
• Panels shall have no exterior exposed raw edges that could lead to rust formation. The side perimeter of externalpanel shall include a built-in PVC gasket acting as air seal. Panels shall come with removable polyethylene protectivesheet to protect external surfaces from scratches and allow for removal at job site.
• Casing construction shall be Non-Thermal-Bridge (NTB) with no direct metal-to-metal contact between the internaland external surfaces. The unit frame construction shall consist of nylon glass-fiber reinforced corner-joints thatconnect extruded aluminium thermal break profiles. The extruded aluminium thermal break profiles shall consist ofa complete structure fabricated from high strength engineering thermoplastic bars that separates the aluminiumouter and inner profiles. The aluminium frames shall be gasketed along the perimeter with closed cell heavy dutyneoprene rubber gasket located in between panels and the aluminium frames. The frame shall be constructed topermit removal of the panels without affecting the structural integrity of the unit.
• Corner pieces (Tri-leg) molded of composite material forms the final integral part of the casing instruction. The non-metallic construction of the corner pieces enhances the Non-Thermal-Bridge feature of the AHU casing.
• Unit casing construction shall be tested to conform to the following standard:BS EN 1886:1998 or DIN EN 1886:1998 Ventilation for buildings – Air Handling Units – Mechanical performance
The construction shall satisfy the minimum requirements according to the classification in BS EN 1886:1998 orDIN EN 1886:1998 as shown below:

Casing ConstructionCasing Construction
• Access doors shall be constructed from double walled thermal break panels insulated with the same material asthe casing panels. The four sides of the access door shall be covered permanently with extruded PVC to ensurenon-metallic thermal break.
• Door frames shall be constructed of a single-piece fiberglass construction for Non-Thermal-Bridging (NTB). Theinternal flange of the door frame shall be sealed along the perimeter with replaceable closed cell neoprene gasketof minimum 5.0mm thickness for air tightness and thermal performance.
• The door latch shall consist of a single-piece construction consisting of a handle with opening and closing mechanismfabricated from nylon glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic with thermal break design. The locking of the accessdoor shall be achieved via a single-piece gradiated cam-lock with stopper for air-tightness.
• Door hinges shall be fabricated from nylon glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic and installed with no direct contactwith the internal surface of the air handling unit. The hinges shall permit a complete 180° door swing

1.1 Furnish and install central station air handling unitsof the type, size and capacity shown on the equipmentschedule.
1.2 Equipment schedules and specifications are basedon Carrier 39G ‘Galaxy’ series. The design of the air-handling unit is based on the use of modular panelsand extruded aluminium perimeter frames withcomposite material for corner piece. Othermanufacturers of equal quality may be submitted tothe consulting engineers for approval. Whensubstitution of equipment is made, the contractor shallbe responsible for the cost of any item andengineering revision necessary to satisfy plans andspecifications.
1.3 Units shall be horizontal or vertical draw-through typeas shown on the drawings and shall consists (in thedirection of air flow) a mixing box section, a filtersection, a coil section and a fan section generally inaccordance with the attached equipment schedules.
1.4 Unit shall be supplied with welded unitbase with holesfor rigging located to suit optimum hoisting stability.The use of slings and spreader bars are recommendedfor large section.
2.1 The unit casing construction shall have double skinconstruction to allow access without damaging theinsulation and isolating it from the air stream.
2.2 The casing shall have extruded aluminium perimeterframe, with modular panels and composite materialcorner piece. The panels shall be constructed suchthat they shall comprise of two layers of steel sheetwith injected insitu CFC-Free Polyurethane insulationwith thermal conductivity factor of 0.019 w/mk anddensity of 40kg/m3 in between. The assembly of fixpanels to the perimeter frame shall be from insidethe unit. The removable panels should be providedon the both sides of the units with hex socketcompression type latch assembly and large & non-conductive handles. All external panels surface shallbe pre-painted zinc allume. Internal panels shall begalvanised steel sheet.
3.1 The fan shall be of the forward curved or backwardcurved DIDW centrifugal type. The blade of forwardcurved wheels shall be galvanised steel. The bladeof backward curved wheel shall be heavy gauge steel,treated and painted after manufacture. The fan assemblyshall be statically and dynamically balanced to the 80%of maximum fan speed as shown in the schedule.
3.2 Factory/field furnished and installed fan motors shallbe mounted inside the fan section on the mountingbase. The motors shall be of the totally enclosed fancooled (TEFC) type (or open drip proof type) suitablefor use with…Volts…Phase….Hz electrical supply.Motor speed shall be as per schedule.
3.3 The fan drive package shall consist of foxed pitchfan and motor pulleys and V-belts, adequately sizedto accommodate the application service factor.
3.4 The fan and motor assembly shall be mounted on anadjustable mounting base with factory supplied springanti-vibration mountings or rubber isolator. The fandischarge shall be square (for forward curved orbackward curved fans) in area and flanged and isolatedfrom the casing by a fire retardant grade flexibleconnection. Only on fan discharge shall be provided.
4.1 The coils shall be of the cartridge type, mounted overthe condensate drain pan (for cooling coil). Coils shallbe tested at 2760kPag air pressure while submergedin water. Coils performance shall be rated inaccordance to ARI standard 410.
4.2 Chilled Water coils shall have aluminium/copper finswith belled collars and bonded to 12.7mmm ODcopper tubes by mechanical expansion. Fins shallbe of the “Dual Sinewave” form. Coil shall havegalvanised steel casing and steel headers with malethreaded connections. Working pressure shall be2060kPag at 93oC. Coils shall be drainable and havenon-air-trapping circuits. No turbulence promotingdevices will be permitted inside the tubes. Headersshall have drain and vent connections. Note : copperheader shall be sweat type connection (braze).
4.3 Direct expansion coil shall have aluminium/copperfins with belled collars and bonded to 12.7mm ODcopper tubes by mechanical expansion. Fins shallbe of the “Dual Sinewave” form. Coils shall beprovided with brass distributors with sweat typeconnections. Coils shall have full-face active area withintertwined circuits for equal loading on each circuit.Suction and metering valve connection shall be onthe same end. After leak testing, coil shall be chargedwith dry air. Coils shall be designed and tested inaccordance to ARI standard.
4.4 Hot Water coils shall be constructed similar to thechilled water coil as per Section 4.3 except that themaximum working pressure shall be 1200kpag at205oC.
4.5 All coils shall have counter flow arrangement.4.6 The condensate drain pan shall be constructed by
16-gauge powder painted Galvanised Steel with40mm depth and 400mm in length. Slider shall bewelded at drain pan for easier coil installation andremoval. The condensate drain pan shall beconstructed in slope with one female threaded pipeconnection of 43mm OD routed through bottom fordrainage in accordance to ASHRAE 62-89 Standard.

5.1 The filter section shall be supplied by the air handlingunit manufacturer with the same casing constructionas specified for the other unit sections. The type offilters to be housed within the filter section shall bethe type and efficiency indicated on the equipmentschedule.
5.2 High velocity filter section shall be capable ofreceiving 25mm or 50mm thick filters of standard size.Low velocity filter section shall be capable of receiving50mm deep filters mounted in 50mm width holdingframes.
5.3 Bag filter section shall be capable of accepting bagfilters with length up to 596mm and 22mm-filterheader thickness.
6.1 Mixing boxes shall be parallel bladed, interconnectedoutside air and return air dampers. Damper bladesshall be brake formed for stiffness and shall bemechanically secured to 13mm OD steel rods rotatingin nylon bushings and mounted in rigid powderpainted steel damper frames. Dampers shall besectionalised to limit blade length to not more than1480mm in order to prevent excessive blade warpingand ensure tight closure.
7.1 Access section shall be supplied by the air handlingunit manufacturer with the same casing constructionas specified for the other sections. The access panelsshall be ultra low leak construction with hex socketcompression type latch assembly and large & non-conductive handles for easy removal of the accesspanel. The access panel shall be double skinnedconstruction and internally insulated with injectedinsitu CFC-Free polyurethane insulation. The accesspanel perimeter shall be lined with ribseals.

8.1 Viewports shall be available as factory installed optionon access doors. The viewports shall be fabricatedfrom round, double plane, clear and rigid polycarbonatewith a minimum diameter of 200.0mm and installedwith screws that do not come into direct contact withthe internal surface of the air handling unit. Theviewport shall be gasketed on the internal andexternal surfaces with thermoplastic elastomer (TPE)gaskets to ensure air-tightness. The viewport shallbe capable of withstanding unit operating pressures.
9.1 Marine lamps shall be available as factory-installedoption on the fan and access sections of the airhandling unit. The construction shall be vapour andweather tight rated to IP44. The marine lamp shallconsist of a structural light fitting base with aluminiumreflector and receptacle, and a structural glass globeprotected by wire mesh. The marine lamp shall comefitted with a light bulb complete with factory installedwiring and conduits and terminated with an on/offswitch located external to the unit and near to theaccess door.
10.1 The drain pan shall be available fabricated in galvanizedsteel and powder painted to withstand ASTM B-117Salt Spray Test at 500 hours. The drain pan shall haveoption of being fabricated in Stainless Steel SUS 304.
10.2 The drain pan shall be constructed to have full width,single sloped drain pan to ensure positive condensatedrainage and shall extend downstream of the coil toprovide sufficient amount of space to contain moisturecarry-over. The coil shall not sit in the drain pan andshall be removable via coil tracks. The drain pan shallhave an integral FPT elbow for side discharge andtrapping.
10.3 The drain pan must be accessible for inspection andcleaning.
