JYMS Building SLO

School Learning Outcome: Over the course of the 2014 -15 school year, students in grades 6, 7 and 8 will demonstrate an average increase in their MAP Reading scores by increments of 9, 7 and 6 points respectively on the Fall 2014 to Spring 2015 MAP assessment.

Rationale: The average MAP growth from the past two years was 8.4 in grade 6. 6.3 in grade 7 and 5.3 in grade 8. The diminishing growth is a reflection of the test’s ceiling.

Because the MAP score is a reflection of three components, (Literature, Informational Text, and Foundational Skills/Vocabulary), teachers will be able to attach to one of those three pillars with their individual SLO’s.
