INTRODUCTION • Sir Syed Ahmad khan had advice the Muslims to stay away from

politics and to devote themselves to acquiring of western education. The Muslims acted upon his advice but after his death March, 1898 the situation took the dramatic turn.

• Anti-Muslim Movements were started and the feelings of insecurity increase among the Muslims.

• The Urdu-Hindi controversy was also became cause of Establishment of The Muslim League.

• The anti-Urdu posture of Anthony MacDonnell 1900. • Anti-Cow slaughtering Movement.• Congress leadership • Success of Simla Deputation 1906.

TOWARDS TO ESTABLISHMENT

• Muslim press started to say that we should establish a separate Political Party.

• Nawab Ismail Khan, Mohsin-ul-Mulk, Molvi Mahdi Hasan and Syed Raza Ali wrote forceful articles in the Paisa Akhbar, the Aligarh Institute Gazette and the pioneer respectively.

• Muslim All-India Confederacy Scheme of Nawab Salimullah Khan 1906. it was for the Safeguard of the Muslim’s right and for their better education.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE ALL-INDIA MUSLIM LEAGUE

• In December 1906, after the annual session of All-India Muhammedan Educational Conference, the All India Muslim League came into Being during a meeting presided over by Nawab Viqar-ul-Mulk.

• Nawab Salimullah moved a resolution about the formation of the Muslim League Which was supported by Molana Zafar Ali Khan, Hakim Ajmal Khan and Molana Muhammed Ail.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVE

• To promote among the Muslims of India feelings of Loyalty to the British Government and to remove any misconception that may arise as to the intentions of the Government with regard to any of the Measures.

• To protect and advance the political rights and interests of the Muslims of India and to respectfully represent their needs and aspirations to the Government.

• To prevent the rise among the Muslims of India any feeling of hostility towards other communities without prejudice to the other aforementioned objectives of the League.
