Welcome to All Saints Children’s Centre Early Education and Childcare Nursery
All Saints Children’s Centre, Chris Hogbin and the Early Education and Childcare Team.
We are an Ofsted registered setting providing free, high quality childcare and education for three and four-year- old children. We also provide free places for eligible two year olds. Please ask for details at reception.
Our nursery runs during term time from two sites. Magpie Hall Road, opening hours, 9am-12noon and 1-4pm,Monday to Friday and Tramways, opening hours, 9am-12noon and 12.30-3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
We offer an exceptional early years environment that inspires children’s curiosity and desire to learn.

Adopters’ drop-inEileen Braham and the Playlink TeamThe drop-in is a fun, stimulating and safe place for children and parents to share, learn and playtogether. Adoptive parents can share parentingexperiences and gain new play ideas to helpenhance parent and child attachment. The PlaylinkTeam, in partnership with the Adoption SupportTeam, runs the drop-in. After School ClubPlaylinkCome and join Playlink for a fun-filled session forchildren aged 3-8 years (up until their 8th birthday)with their parent/carer. The sessions are geared towards encouraging and enabling children to improve key skills such as communication, languageand social and emotional skills. Each week will also
include a confidence building messy play activity.Sessions cost 50p per family and can be booked at reception.
All Saints Children’s Centre librarySue TomanEncourage your babies to develop a life-long love ofbooks by borrowing up to six books at a time fromour mini library. Medway’s libraries provide thecentre with an exciting range of books that childrenmay choose and borrow. Please take advantage ofthis wonderful opportunity at no charge. All Saints Postnatal Depression GroupEileen Braham and Morag NeeldThis group is to support parents that may be suffering the effects of postnatal depression, perhaps feeling emotional and tearful, not sleepingwell and loss of appetite. This group will be very informal and involve a craftactivity as well as looking at relaxation techniques. A crèche is available and places need to be bookedearly. Please contact reception to book the crèche,as well as checking the date the group is on, as it is held fortnightly.If you are unable to attend the group and would like to chat to someone, please contact the centreand ask to speak to either Eileen or Morag on 01634 338833.

Baby bitesSara CooperBaby Bites is for mums and dads wanting supportand guidance in introducing solids to their baby. It isa fun, relaxed and practical cooking class showingyou how to prepare delicious first foods, that can beadapted from your own meals. We have kitchenequipment available for you to hire and a library ofbooks that you can borrow. Baby Bites will run in thesecond Tuesday morning of the month. Baby bounce wiggle andgiggle at Luton librarySue TomanThis activity is held, at no charge, at Luton library andis ideal for children aged from birth to 18-months-old,although older children are also welcome. It providesan ideal opportunity for your baby to enjoy kneebouncing, action songs, signing and rhymes. Music is the perfect tool to support children’s developmentand also aids pre-reading skills. Parents must staywith their child.
Baby massagePlaylinkBaby massage is ideal for babies from six weeks to eight-months-old. Massaging is a lovely way tointeract with your baby; it enhances the bondbetween you both and you may notice your baby is more relaxed and settles easier to sleep. There areso many benefits. Dad’s group offers baby massage

Baby signingPlaylink TeamBaby signing is a six-week bookable course forparents interested in this fun and innovative way to support their baby’s speech and languagedevelopment, based around music and singingenabling key words being signed. Boardroom CaféThe Healthy Eating Project TeamThe Boardroom Café is a welcoming and friendlyplace where you can enjoy healthy, delicioushomemade and affordable food in a relaxed family–friendly environment. We have comfy glidingnursing chairs and big V maternity pillows to supportyou during breastfeeding. Babies have their ownmenu of tempting homemade baby and finger food.There are special dining chairs which grow withyour child and allow you all to eat at the same table,a play area to amuse your children and, for parents,delicious Fairtrade tea and coffee and all the latestfood magazines, should you find yourself with aspare minute. Our garden is a great place to relax inthe sunshine and listen to the wind chimes andtrickling water. You can also check on the progressof our fruit, vegetables and herbs.The café is used for all groups and activities theHealthy Eating Project Team runs and also for foodevents throughout the year.
Boogie buddies Megan EdwardsA one-hour session for children aged two to five-years-old using different dance styles to help getthem moving. This fun session will help yourchild/children develop skills such as balancing,spatial awareness and control over their body. It will also help them to identify parts of the body and learn little routines and sequences. The sessionsare held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Contact the centre to book. Please wearcomfortable clothing and sensible footwear.
Medway BreastfeedingNetwork (M.B.N.)M.B.N. is made up of local mums who havebreastfed their own babies and have had extratraining so that they can give information andsupport to other mums. Our peer supportersunderstand the highs and lows of breastfeeding,they can answer your questions or if necessary,point you in the right direction of a healthprofessional. All Saints Children’s Centre has it’sown peer supporter Sally who is available on07507 458622.
Clothes swapHealthy Eating Project Team Please bring any clean good condition 0-5yearclothes you would like to swap. You will be awardedpoints for each item, which can then be exchangedfor clothes at the swap sessions. Don’t worry if youhave nothing to swap, you will be given free pointsto start.Clothes swap will be held on the thirdMonday of each month, between 9.30-10.30am, in the café. Due to space restrictions please bring inno more than one carrier bag of clothes to swap.Sorry no shoes, bedding or towels can be taken.
Coffee and cultureDarshna Gupta and Sue Toman Greenvale Infant School - term-time only. The group’s focus is to provide a relaxed, friendlyenvironment for families interested in understandingeach other’s cultures and to make cross-culturalrelationships. Activities that we have run in the pastinclude Thai red curry making, celebrating ChineseNew Year, belly dancing, pamper sessions and manymore. Cost per session: 50pence. Community computer pointAdministration TeamNeed general information, or to pay a bill online?Then come and use our community computerpoint, which is in reception. The computer alreadyhas sites available for you to access; there arealso leaflets and posters to give you help andadvice on various matters. As part of ourpartnership working with Jobcentreplus, you canuse our computer to job search and completeapplication forms online. Please ask receptionabout using the computer.
Crafty caféHealthy Eating Project TeamCan you knit, sew or crochet? Do you scrapbook ormake cards? Why not come along to the café on aFriday morning and share your projects and skillswith others over a cuppa and a chat. If you'd like tolearn how to knit or crochet, do come along andwe'll help you get started. We have some craftsupplies available for you to use, a small donationwould be asked for. Children are welcome to playin the café under your supervision while you craft.
Early birdThe Midwifery TeamJust found out you are pregnant? Why not attendone of our early bird sessions? At the sessions meetmidwives in your team, learn about how we cancare for you, obtain your pregnancy notes and takeaway literature/info packs. You need to book intoone of the sessions so please phone 01634 338833or ask at reception.
Filial coachingEileen Braham and Nikki LloydFilial coaching supports and enhances the relationship between parent/carer and their child.Coaching is suitable for parents who have childrenaged from 18 months to 15-years-old. If your childis displaying worrying or challenging behaviours filial coaching can help. Parents are coached with

Fun fit Megan EdwardsFun fit is a one hour session providing a chance toexercise and use up some energy for children agedtwo to five-years-old. Full of different activities tokeep fit using lots of different equipment for yourchild to enjoy. These sessions will be held on thefirst and third Thursdays of the month. They are freeof charge and take place in the Boardroom café.Contact the centre to book.
Fun with English for you, your baby and childDarshna Gupta and Medway CommunityLearning ServiceAll Saints Church - term-time only Learn and improve your English, while finding outabout health, safety and other interesting topics surrounding young children. While you learn, a qualified child tutor looks after your children. Thiscourse is for parents/carers who do not speak English as their first language and who are residentin England. To book a place please phone Darshna at the centre on 01634 338833. Cost per session: 50pence.
Funky feet walking group Community Development TeamCome and join in the fun of our walking group. Wewalk every Wednesday from April to October. Weleave from All Saints Children’s Centre and set off toexplore local parks and play areas, enjoying funactivities when we arrive. Healthy child clinicHealth Visiting Team and Darshna Gupta(Community Inclusion Worker)The Child Health Clinic is an opportunity to meetmembers of the Health Visiting Team and discuss anyhealth or development issues. The session gives youthe ability to self-weigh your child, as well as a healthvisitor being available for advice or privateconsultation. When you come to the clinic you can getthe latest information about the centre and the localarea. You can also have a look around the centre andsome of the activities taking place.

Lighter living clinicDavid LeeThe Healthy Eating Team offers one-to-one weightloss sessions with a qualified nutritionist cateringto your individual needs. Sessions will teach youabout: Healthy eating for you and your family;realistic weight loss goals; the importance ofphysical activity and identifying behaviours thatpromote weight gain. Fifteen minute one-to-onesessions run between 1-2pm fortnightly on aWednesday, book at reception.

Lunch groupDavid LeeIs a fun social cooking group for you to learn andcook a tasty seasonal two-course lunch, then stayand eat with your family and friends. If you can’tattend the group but you are in the centre, let usknow in the morning and you’ll probably be able to pop in and buy some tasty lunch that your fellowcentre-users have made (subject to availability).Cost per session: £1 per adult, 50pence per child.
Music groupSue Toman and Darshna GuptaGreenvale Infant School - term-time onlyBabies feel pulses, rhymes and vibrations evenwhile in the womb. Music group offers children theopportunity to enjoy a wide range of music from birthonwards. We use action songs, signing, music andinstruments to help with the children’s development andself-expression. Music group is a free, relaxed andfriendly group, always welcoming parent/carer input.
Nipper noshSara CooperThis class is for older babies, independent feedersand toddlers. Make and try some delicious dishesfor your family and your toddler to enjoy together at mealtimes. You can also get helpful advice andsupport on new skills such as using cups andcutlery, and valuable information on portion sizes forone to three-year-olds. Nipper Nosh will run everytwo months on the fourth Tuesday of the month.Please contact reception for the next available dates and to book a place. Cost per session: £1.

You will find a range of activitiesto stimulate your child’s curiosity and holisticdevelopment. This is a warm, friendly and welcomingatmosphere where you can really enjoy sharing inyour child’s sense of wonder as they explore. Cost per session: 50pence.

It is suitable forchildren aged two to five-years-old and it helps themmake friends with food by playing with it. It aims to provide parents with ideas and strategies toencourage their children to try new food and expandthe range of food they are willing to eat. Childrenbecome more confident and willing to try new foodby exploring and experiencing its sensory qualities,all through having fun and playing. Saturday dads’ groupEileen Braham and the Playlink TeamSaturday dads’ group is a drop-in session for dadsand their children. It gives dads the chance to playand engage with their child/children in a warm andwelcoming environment. This exciting and energeticsession includes planned activities such as messyplay and cooking. The Saturday dads’ group is runfortnightly from 10am to 12.30pm by our PlaylinkTeam, with varied input from other teams at thecentre. Cost per session: 50pence. Sensory sessionsCourtney WilliamsonIndividual Sensory Sessions for families with a childwho has a development delay, additional need ordisability.The aim of the block of six sessions is to enhancethe skills and development of the child throughengaging with the sensory activities. The sessionswill also offer the parent and any sibling’s emotionalsupport to enable them to work through any

complex issues, which may arise within theirrelationship and therefore enhance their attachment.The activities may include messy play, sand andwater play, painting, garden exploring and sensorytoys and lights. SpeakeasySWITCH TeamThe Speakeasy course helps parents learn together,to gain the confidence and skills they need to talk positively with their children about sex and relationships. It is designed to be fun and providesan atmosphere where parents can learn together ina non-threatening and relaxed environment. Thecourse runs for nine weeks. Special time therapeutic sessions for childrenSpecial time helps children to work through and understand muddled feelings and upsetting eventssuch as sudden loss, transitions or a trauma thatthey haven’t had the chance to emotionally workthrough. When children come to special time they use play to communicate Play helps children toexplore their feelings and allows them time to go attheir own pace without feeling either threatened or interrogated. Stop smoking adviceAre you interested in giving up smoking? We havean advisor here every Thursday from 9.45-11.15am to give you free 1-1 advice. They can give youinformation on support groups, free prescriptiondrugs and smoking aids (for up to 12 weeks),advice on how to deal with places and peoplearound you when giving up smoking and arrangereturn visits to help you continue with giving upsmoking. Appointments are necessary and are for15mins (please allow 30mins for your firstsession).Call the centre to book an appointment.
Story Sack LibrarySue TomanA Story Sack is a large cloth bag containing achild’s picture book with supporting materials tostimulate reading activities. The aim of a Story Sackis to give parents/carers the confidence to enjoybooks together and to create a joint learningexperience. The supporting material that a storysack offers means that all parents/carers can sharebooks with their children at a variety of levels. StorySacks will help develop and improve your child’spre-reading skills and encourage a life-long love ofbooks. Story sacks are available to borrow inreception on alternate Wednesday mornings at acost of only 50p for 2 weeks. Please take advantageof this wonderful opportunity to share and enjoybooks in a new way with your child.

Administration TeamYou will receive a warm welcome from our Administration and Finance Team. The team consists of: Building Operations Manager TrevorPoulter, Gilly, Jamie, Gemma, Sarah, Yvonne andKatie, who provide a front-line service to allfamilies and visitors to the children’s centre,which includes signposting to other services,such as Family Information Service and WestKent Housing Association. It provides information onservices available by various means, such as the centre newsletter and information booklet. It promotes cultural awareness among thecommunity and ensures that the services weprovide are accessible to all regardless of ethnicorigin. Jo also co-ordinates the centre’svolunteer programme.
BookStartSue Toman is the Bookstart Officer. BookStartis committed to promoting the idea of earlybook sharing and seeks to give every baby the opportunity to develop a life-long love ofbooks, together with encouraging earlylanguage and emotional development.
CaretakerYou will see Neal our caretaker, busily workingaround the centre and at the pre-school. Nealprovides valuable support with setting-upactivities and events, maintenance of thebuilding and making sure the centre is safe and welcoming.
Healthy Eating Project TeamThe Healthy Eating Project team is led by RachelHogben-Lambert and consists of Deputy HealthyEating Project Co-ordinator David Lee, HealthyEating Project Workers Sara Cooper, MeganEdwards and the Healthy Eating Café Worker.The team runs many groups in the BoardroomCafé and activities in local pre-schools andnurseries to help support you in choosing ahealthy diet in all stages of family life. Health Visiting TeamHealth visitors in the local area provide adviceand support to Chatham families. Your healthvisitor is linked to your GP surgery and offershome visits and child-health clinics within thelocal area.
MidwivesWe have a team of midwives providing antenataland postnatal support through antenatalappointments. They also enable mums who have breastfed their babies to become peersupporters to support other breastfeeding mums.
Playlink TeamCome and meet our fun, innovative andwelcoming Playlink Team during a drop-insession in the Playlink room. This energeticteam consists of Playlink Manager EileenBraham, Deputy Playlink Manager Morag Neeld,Playlink Workers Courtney Williamson, HelenPackham and Rhea Eldridge, Playlink
Worker/Play Therapists Lindsey Simpson, LouHarrild and Louise Burton, with ChildcareAssistant Kalvinder Kaur. The Playlink Team runsa number of drop-in groups, a specialisedsensory group and a home-play visiting service.The Playlink Team also runs an Ofsted-registered crèche, which supports parentingprogrammes and other groups.
SWITCH TeamSupport Workers in Teams, Communities andHomes is led by Social Worker Nikki Lloyd. Withsupport workers Sarah Graham-Clark, BrendaPrudence, Carol Coatham, June Hawkes andMaria Stockdale, the team offers children andtheir families support to meet their needs. The team works individually with families orwithin groups. Its aim is to encourage andenable families to make choices and changes.The team are also involved in Topaz, children’sgroups, Speakeasy and pop in and play at WhiteRoad Community Centre.
