• This inaugural issue provides brief insights on the important events held up to November, 2017 and upcoming campus events. We would be looking forward to hear your achievements so as to provide a whole lot of motivation for the current students. With all the hard work and valuable contributions put in by the faculty and the students, we hope that the newsletter will offer some interesting readings to its alumni.

IILM Institute has contributed to society in developing entrepreneurs

With the curriculum benchmarked against the best in the world, the IILM PGDM goes beyond Finance, Marketing, OB-HR, and

In addition to majors, IILM provides ten divergent pathways namely data analytics, consulting, growth and scaling, start-ups,

Post Graduate Diploma in Management IILM Institute for Higher Educa-

tion, ranked 10th at EdUniversal Bests Masters Ranking.

IILM, Institute for Higher education has been accorded accreditation by

the South Asia Quality Improvement System (SAQS)

IILM Graduate School of Management applied for National Assessment

and Accreditation Council (NAAC ) Accreditation. The Institute has been

accredited with A grade valid for a period of five years.

Recognitions

IILM celebrated 22nd Convocation of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management Program at its Lodhi Road Campus on 25th

August 2017. 296 students from IILM Graduate School of Management, Greater Noida, IILM Institute for Business and Manage-

ment, Gurgaon and IILM Institute for Higher Education, New Delhi were conferred their PG Diplomas in Management. Mr. Bharat

Kaushal, Managing Director, Hitachi India Private Limited was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Bharat Kaushal and Mrs. Malvika Rai presented Gold and Silver Medals to the toppers from three Campuses.

The winners of the Gold and Silver Medals respectively were Navneet Kaur and Lochan Surana from New Delhi Campus, Shub-

ham Agarwal and Sagnik Das from Gurgaon Campus and Joseph Devis and Sajib Dhar from Greater Noida Campus. Pooja

Falwariya, Sagnik Das and Mansi Singh from New Delhi, Gurgaon and Greater Noida Campus respectively were awarded for Best

Summer Internship. IILM also honoured six faculty members with the “Excellence in Teaching” Award. The six faculty members

who received this award were Prof. Rajkishan Nair, Prof. Ruchi Shah, Prof. Devika Sharma, Prof. Raju Majumdar, Prof. Pinky

Goswami and Prof. Rahul Mishra.

Social Innovation Week

Second Innovation Week for the current Academic Year was scheduled

for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students of IILM Institute for

Higher Education from 9th October through 13th October 2017 at

Lodhi Road Campus. The focus of the Innovation Week was on Innova-

tion, Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Project Management,

Impact and Future Focus.

Nine groups composed of a total of sixty students presented to the

audience how they worked during the last three days to create social

awareness and impact. It was interesting to see how young minds

came together to create and implement ideas to cause impact in

various areas ranging from hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness to

poverty alleviation and education to producing light through clean

energy. The groups were assessed on four criterions – namely

Placement WeekPlacement Week was organised from 9-13 October 2017 for the students identify your core competency area and matching them with companies that would value them. Marketing Conference Marketing conference was organised by IILM, Institute for Higher

Education at Lodhi Road Campus on 6-October-2017. The topic for the

first Panel discussion was “Designing a customer experience: from

touch point to journey’s”, and the panel consisted of Mr. Satvinder

Singh- ABVP HDFC, Mr. Anirban Sarkar- General Manager- Country Inn

& Suites - Gurgaon Dr Swati Pal- Principal Janaki Devi Memorial

College and Mr. Nomit Joshi- Director Marketing- Gionee India. The

second panel discussion focused on “Redesigning the business from

the Customer’s back” in which the panelists were Mr. Chandra Shek-

har - AGM-Business Development, Airports Authority and Mr.Yashdeep

Bali,- Co-founder Furniture Gully.com.

HR Conference on “Organizational Excellence through the Power of

Human Capital” at IILM Institute for Business and Management,

Gurgaon on 7th October 2017

The International Conference was oriented to highlight the importance

of Human Resource Management for every organization – government

HR Conference on “HR & Fourth Industrial Revolution: Dealing with people in the age of Artificial Intelligence”,

at IILM Graduate School of Management, Greater Noida on 28th October, 2017.

IGSM is in continuous pursuit of all-round excellence in Management Education by narrowing the gap between academia

Global Thinker Award

We are proud to honour Professor Jagdish Sheth on 15 January 2018

with the Global Thinker Award. Prof Sheth is widely known nationally

and internationally for his scholarly contributions in consumer behav-

ior, relationship marketing, competitive strategy, and geopolitical analy-

sis. Professor Sheth has over 50 years of combined experience in

teaching and research at the University of Southern California, the

University of Illinois, Columbia University, MIT, and Emory University.

This year marks twenty-five successful years of IILM, Institute for

Higher Education, and to help mark the anniversary it would be brilliant

to gather together stories and pictures from the last twenty-five years

(link to share). To help mark this occasion we hope to make this year’s

alumni meet scheduled on 17 February 2018 one of the best in recent

years. We hope to make this event special, with the presence of our

alumni.

UN PRME Conference

As one of the Champion Business School of the UN, we are committed

to take the case of responsible management to educational institutions

and corporates across South Asia and beyond. We are extremely

happy and honoured to announce, that carrying on the traditions of the

UN PRME, IILM’s Fifth International Conference “Principles of Respon-

sible Management Education”, is inspired by the Sustainable Develop-

ment Goals (SDGs) especially on the aspects of Quality Education,

Innovation, Infrastructure and Industry is scheduled to be held on

15-17 February 2018.

One of the key objectives of this Conference is to create awareness of

SDGs among companies, policy makers, NGOs, and to initiate activi-

ties for inclusion of SDGs related issues in business school courses

and research. The conference this time will specifically focus on the

following specific areas which are inextricably linked to the 17 SDGs:

• Quality Education (based on SDG 4)

• Industry (based on SDG 9)

• Innovation (based on SDG 9)

• Infrastructure (based on SDG 9)

Celebrating 9000+ Alumni

Mr. N. Srikant, batch 1994-1996, Lodhi Road Campus

N Srikant has pursued his PGDM in Human Resources from IILM Lodhi

Road in 1996. He is a Certified Coach from Erickson International with

20 years of HR Generalist & Specialist experience in Human Resource

with reputed Indian and Multinational companies. He is currently work-

ing as HR Partner and Executive Vice President at IndusInd Bank. Prior

to this he was working as an Executive Vice President and was heading

the HR functions at Religare Enterprises Ltd.

Mr.Deepak Verma, batch 2005-07 from Gurgaon campus

Having completed his Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com) in 2004 and

PGDM (in Marketing & Sales) in 2007, Mr. Verma went on to carve his

own niche in the hospitality sector. He has worked across leading

companies in the industry including Arena Multimedia, The Leela

Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, Moevenpick Hotels & Resorts, The Leela

Ambience Gurgaon Hotel & Residences and Hyatt Hotels Corporation

prior to joining Pullman-Novotel as Director of Sales. We are proud of

his achievements!

She is currently working as Group Head , Key Business at Times of

India. Her main job roles include Key Account Management, Suggest-

ing branding and amplification solutions, Augmented Reality Integra-

tion on TIMES Alive mobile applications. Ms. Anshita is a graduate

from Delhi University.

Ms. Anshita Sharma, batch 2007-09 from Greater Noida Campus

“Twinkle Twinkle little star, How I wonder what you are, Up above the worlds so high. Like a diamond in the sky.” You must be

wondering why a nursery poem is being quoted here. This little nursery poem is so relevant in today’s context and I want to put

it in a different perspective altogether. You were all those little stars who came fresh out of college and managed to get admission

into IILM management school to nurture your dream.

At IILM we embraced you with passion to make your dream come true and succeed in life. During those two years of immersion

we really wondered what you would become and where you will be in the corporate ladder that is so high and mighty. But today

we are so happy that you are all the shining stars of IILM in the corporate world.

Alumni’s are one of the most precious possessions of an educational institution where the Institute takes pride in talking about

them. They are the voice; they are the face, as they create footprints for their institute not just with in the country but across the

globe. In real terms you are the ambassadors of the institute where its recognition is built brick by brick in terms of the goodwill

and the leadership qualities that you demonstrate in the corporate world.

Today, Alumni relations are an important part of institutions advancement activities for many reasons. One reason is that you are

institute’s most loyal supporters who genuinely look forward to its progress. You took all the wisdom from the Institute during

your student days and want to happily give it back to the institute in multifold through the experience and the intellectual ability

that you acquired over a period of time and want to share the same with the students in terms of experiential learning.

IILM today is one of the fastest growing business school and is ranked 11th in North India. Many of our alumni’s are in senior

level position in top companies both in India and abroad. IILM has a very strong association with its alumni community. Many of

the alumni are constantly in touch with the Institute either as a guest faculty, or as a part of the Interview panel or even as Industry

mentor to the students. The board of governors of IILM has few of our alumni as advisors which we are very proud of.

As an ambassador of the institute you play a critical role in taking the institute to the next level. Some of the key areas I feel the

alumni can add value is by bridging the gap between industry and academia. Placements are another area where our alumni can

play an important role. IILM makes a conscious effort to reach out to our alumni on a regular basis both in and off campus through

various activities.

Your professional commitments would have forced you to move out in different parts of the country and away from IILM. But yet,

we are going to be so near with our latest ‘InFocus’ alumni newsletter through which we will strive to be in constant touch. Thank
