Assalamu `Alaikum Warahmatullah WabarakatuFor 20 years, Amaana Hands has carved a solid footprint as a conduit to the underprivileged here in the USA and worldwide.

Our projects are geared towards the process of changing despair into hope and initiative. Lives have been transformed from restrictions to independence. We held their hands to empower them to become self-sufficient, to fulfill their needs and realize their desired potentials.

The struggle is continuous. With the increasing crisis worldwide, your donations are genuinely needed. Trust and transparency has been our guiding principles. Each year we have fulfilled our financial report submission to the IRS and the NYS & NJ Attorney General Charities Bureau requirements. We have consistently disposed of 99% of all donations received. Our administrative overhead is at a minimum with our staff working as volunteers. Your partnership is truly amazing and motivating to strive our utmost in easing the sufferings of the ones in distress. AH diligently works with several orphanages worldwide. Our focus is on education, medical care, clothing, footwear and food. Sadly, they are the neglected ones. Quite often they are bullied and taunted. AH mission is to build the orphans’ self-esteem and self-confidence. AH actively sponsors orphans worldwide in countries such as Pakistan, Senegal, Bangladesh, Burma, Haiti, Cambodia, Kenya, Guyana and USA. Your Zakaah gives the orphans the feeling that they are being cared and loved.

In Gambia while the students were in classes at the masjid, their dorm went up into flames. One room was completely burnt and the belongings of these young boys were destroyed in the fire. AH replaced their beds, clothing and rebuilt the damaged areas of the building.

HAPPINESS OF PURE WATER WELL IN A VILLAGE IN PAKISTAN

A new initiative has begun for the poor and homeless children begging on the streets of Cambodia. These children scours the garbage for something to eat and items to sell. AH volunteers goes out to the streets to give them food and new clothing monthly. The clothing are the products of AH Golden Needle School in Cambodia. Your Zakaah will help feed and clothe these neglected children.

LEFT TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES

WIDOWSPoor widows are probably the ones that are most neglected. They go unnoticed in their pain and loneliness. They are left stranded without a safety net coupled with daily struggles to go on with their lives. In some cases, they are left to care for many children. AH help is focused to bring light to the darkness they live in. A prime example of AH work is that of a widow in Guyana who sustained permanent disability in a car accident. She has 2 young children to care for. The following is a thank you note from her 15 year old daughter.

In USA, a young college student was left with the huge responsibility to care for her 3 siblings after her mother (single-parent) and sister died in a house fire. This young girl took on the responsibility to house, feed and clothe herself and siblings. She was forced to stop pursuing her college degree. The community helped for a few months after which she feared the reality of becoming homeless. Subhanallah, at the time when AH volunteer brought this case to our attention, a single donor readily committed to pay their rent for 4 months. AH Case Manager was assigned to coach and help these orphans. This is the spirit of giving, we want to convey to you!

FIRE LEFT 4 YOUNG CHILDRENORPHANED & HOMELESS

Assalamu `Alaikum:I want to thank you for making our life easier and comfortable. My father died 6 years ago and my mother suffered permanent disability in an accident to her right foot. No one wants to give her a job because of her disability. My grandfather uses his small pension to assist us. Our washroom was in the backyard and because of your help it is now built in our house. We used to sleep on the ground and after 4 years, we now have beds to sleep on. You replaced the roof on our house. No more the rain wet us while sleeping at night. After 5 years, we now have access to the outside stairs because you repaired it for us. AH is providing us with monthly grocery

hampers and assistance for our bills. We are grateful to Allah for making us happy and comfortable. May Allah bless you with the strength to go on doing His work.”

RELIEVED & THANKFULAn elderly couple in their 70’s living in Guyana, the husband is a dedicated Imam and community worker. They both found themselves in an unfortunate situation. The husband began to lose vision in his left eye. He immediately needed a corneal transplant in one eye. The cost of the surgery was US$6000. With their little savings, they were forced to borrow a significant amount. The couple was ailing in distress as to how they will ever be able to repay this loan. By the mercy and help of Allah, AH repaid the money borrowed for the surgery. Alhamdulillah, the surgery was successful. In a teary and emotional gratitude, they praised Allah, The Provider for guiding the donors of AH to help the ones in distress.

The Prophet (saw) said: Every believer who consoles (another person) in distress will be dressed by Almighty Allah in apparel of honor on the day or resurrection.”

AH medical aid is given to the sick in Guyana, Guinea, Senegal, Morocco, Bangladesh and USA. When the poor is diagnosed with serious illnesses, they feel hopeless. Silently suffering the pain of anxiety, wondering how they will be able to receive the necessary treatment. In some cases, the family falls apart escalating the ailment. AH funds weekly dialysis treatment, stents for heart procedure, airfare to travel to other countries for medical treatment, medications and health care supplies. AH thank you for soothing the pains of our ailing brothers and sisters. May Allah grant you the best of health and save you from pain and suffering. May He remove your worries, give you tranquility and place light in your home. Aameen.

AH would like to thank our donors for choosing us to dispense your Zakaah & to fulfill the call of these deserving families.

When one is diagnosed with cancer, instantly it trickles a troubling feeling of fear and helplessness. Our volunteers accompany the sick to doctors’ appointments. After chemo treatments, they are too weak to care for themselves and carry on with their daily activities. In one case, a single parent lost her job because she missed days of work. Prior to being diagnosed with cancer, she was caring for her child with lupus. Alhamdulillah with your Zakaah, AH gives her the support to pay her rent and utilities.

Due to lack of funds, this Masjid in Gambia was left incompleted for quite a long time. Most of the villagers are poor. It is the only Masjid for this vibrant community. Alhamdulillah, AH funded the remaining construction. It is now in full service of daily prayers, classes and community activities.

HELPING THE VILLAGERS

This is 2 year old Abdul Ahad from Bangladesh. He was born with a large tumor on his nose. This was painful and burdensome for Abdul and his family to endure. The doctors said that if the surgery was not done, then it may result in complicated disabilities or death. Abdul’s parents could not afford the cost of the surgery. Subhanallah, your Zakaah enabled Abdul to have the surgery that he urgently needed. Masha Allah, Abdul is smiling beautifully and living a normal life. In photo (1st from left) is AH Bangladesh Project Coordinator Moulana Yameen from New York. He visited Abdul at the hospital in Bangladesh before his surgery. Two similar cases were done in Morocco and Guinea.

Lin is an example of one of AH successful Educational Sponsorship Program. This program is established in all the countries that AH operates in. We give

financial support to needy university students who has no means of up keeping their educational expenses, such as tuition, books and transportation. Lin recently graduated in May 2017 from The Institute of Technology in Cambodia. Lin is expected to be hired at the architectural company that he trained at while in university. Subhanallah, your Zakaah opens avenues for high achievements!

GOLDEN NEEDLE SCHOOL

AH sewing school “Golden Needle” is in its 7th year of operation in Cambodia. Our aim is to educate and train impoverished young women and men with sewing skills so that they can be gainfully employed. Currently 27 students are enrolled. Classes are held Monday through Friday, with two sessions per day. After the students graduate, they are hired by the garment industry that pays a decent salary. Most important is that AH is trying its utmost to create programs of self-sufficiency in order to save the younger generation from falling into the high volume of poverty that exist around them. We seek your support so AH can continue and expand the self-sufficiency programs.

The uniforms for these young Qur’an memorization graduates in Gambia were funded with your donations. Your support is a motivation to achieve.

In January 2017, AH started distributing Mejdool dates in Makkah to worshippers at the Haram and local Masaajid surrounding the Haram. For Ramadan the dates are given at the time of suhur and iftar.

The dates are also served to the migrant construction workers and caretakers of the Haram. Alhamdulillah, the dates are given with brotherly love and received with joy. AH additional program in Makkah and Medina provides financial assistance for foreign students and their families in Makkah and Madinah. We seek your support to expand and continue serving those on the path pleasing Allah.
